bigjay01:At least we now have a specific time line... We wait with fingers crossed... |
CashDiMkpa:Lol... I actually thought this was the result... I jumped out of excitement... ![]() |
@Circleofwilis I see you lurking about in the shadows, monitoring things... I hail... May you never become aneurysmal... |
rebekah2011:Marked reduction in cost of sales quarter on quarter... How was this achieved?? Cheaper raw materials?? How sustainable is this going forward? Good result though... |
gabscity: maishai:I have just gone through the transcript of their H1 2020 investor conference call and I can see your point now... Seems the increase in excise duties has contracted their margins... Thanks for the eye opener... |
gabscity:I honestly do appreciate your opinion and insight... But how has the PMB regime directly impacted the brewers negatively? Looking at the top line of all the 3 major brewers in their recently released results, there has barely been any growth at all in their revenues year on year... Not sure how this can be attributed to PMB... |
eimuhb: Coolcash1:The Nigerian beer market is facing stiff competition from the imported spirits, wines and vodka which the younger generation who drink tend to align more with these days... The 3 major brewers (NB, IB and Guinness... In no particular order) are also jostling amongst themselves for market share... They need to start thinking of diversifying... |
veecovee:This 14.40 resistance will not let zenith pass... |
Bids outweigh offers on Guinness now... Trades now showing green today after all the red in recent times... Are the bulls taking over here? |
emmanuelewumi:God bless you for this Pa Emma... I for like borrow the bros my license so he can work on a COVID positive ward for 1 week and collect my "new and improved hazard allowance" for the month... ![]() |
3 days to zenith banks Q1 results... Fingers crossed... |
TLAX:Also learning technical analysis as I've discovered it complement fundamental analysis which I'm more accustomed to... Initially thought technical analysis won't work for our market but I know better now... Got some books, still reading and watching videos like you said... Quite informative and interesting... |
emmanuelewumi:Unaudited Q4 2019 shoes EPS of 15k though... Audio earnings? |
eziokwunwoko:Haven looked at their last few financial reports, they seem to be doing something right... Debt is down, earnings are up... They will certainly take a huge hit from corona but will it decline to your target entry of 50k? Time will tell but there are better companies to invest in on the bourse... |
eziokwunwoko:Why are you interested in SKYAVN? Have they added a new product line or service? Who are their CEO/ board members? Has earnings grown over the past few years? Why did their share price decline? Has there been a correction of the factors that caused their declining share price? How will Lockdown affect their earnings this year considering they are in the hospitality/ aviation sector? Answer these questions and I'm sure you'll have an answer to the question you asked... |
I feel quite ashamed to be associated with this thread considering what has transpired lately... We are bigger than this and need not stoop so so low... Haba... What a way to waste the last few pages of the thread! |
CashDiMkpa:You are correct... Its 1.4trillion that cbn debited... The 600billion article is from a precious similar action last year. My interest in posting that was just that the banks aren't losing the money debited.... Kasala for burst plenty plenty... |
DrAwo:https://www.google.com/amp/s/businessday.ng/exclusives/article/banks-fined-over-n600bn-as-cbn-hits-ldr-defaulters-again/amp/ "The sanction of N600 billion means that banks had a loan shortfall of around N1.2 trillion from the required value of loans that will have enabled them meet the 65 percent LDR policy. While the banks will not lose the money taken as sanctions, they will forfeit any interest they would have earned on the deposits. Analysts told BusinessDay that banks may be losing up to N6 billion monthly in interest income due to this December sanction." Some clarification from a previous similar exercise... |
https://nairametrics.com/2020/04/24/breaking-cbn-debits-banks-n1-4-trillion-for-failing-to-meet-crr-targets/ Has anyone seen this? If this is true, wahala dey oh... |
When the elders are speaking, the learners pay rapt attention... #QuicklyPicksUpPenAndPaper... Oya continue... |
PharmAlfred:I initially raised an eyebrow at the approximately 60% increase in other operating expense quarter on quarter. Q1 2019 represents only the old Access Bank while q1 2020 is Access + Diamond... The merger improved the top line but was almost not felt at all in the bottom line... Effect of coronavirus only Or still finding its feet Hope Zenith doesn't follow the same route post purported merger with union... |
Strong support for Zenith at 13.50 but resistance at about 13.70... Lets see who wins... |
Biafran4life:Prices can only move up or down from the previous days close by 10% daily... |
Biafran4life:Going by what was published, they would have made about N5.4 billion profit... |
stcool:Check the date on that tweet by Donald Trump... Was posted in Sept 2019... |
meshpips:Thanks for posting this... All opinions are welcome irrespective of whether they are bullish or bearish... In the end, each individual is the captain of their ship... |
ebuka1997:Most of the bad q1 we've seen so far are from companies that were struggling even before now... Africa prudential registrar q1 wasn't that bad at all... I expect the q1 from the blue chips to start rolling in next week... That might be a better measure of how things go... |

to match any thing the Alomo bitters of this world have to offer, I saw what Origin did for Guiness....... The Industry has lobbied relentlessly for waivers from this Government but no deal has been brokered hence their poor Showing....... This stocks are what I call Election stocks for now as their hopes for a rise hinges on a change in Govt policies
Or still finding its feet
