that is wrong, the mother wasn't lame, she simply saw a potentially unhealthy situation and warned her daughter inlaw

it is not simply a matter of 'raising him well' people decide what they will do eventually, even if they are raised well

If she bothered to heed the wise woman's advice, she may not have ended up in the position she did.

Moral of the Story: Parents should not abdicate responsibility for their kids' upbringing

Family › Re: Would You Marry A Woman Who Could Not Bare Children? by Dreloaded(f): 1:42am On May 06, 2007
this is an extremely rare phenomenon, prevalent mostly in W.Europe and N.America. it goes against basic human instinct not to want to have kids.

they must've had bad experiences, or are scared, or are very selfish folk who don't want to 'ruin their figure' or don't want any crappy kid dependent on them. as for me? prior knowledge that she could not bare children would be difficult to accept, unless I have some clear direction from God saying this is the person i should marry.

a very slim possibility you have to admit. Truth is - the last week ended half of your quadruple hallucinations.

man utd may eventually make it a single at Wembley, I wonder what y'all will say at that point.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: What Happened To Manchester United? by Dreloaded(f): 1:35am On May 06, 2007
we analyse our team more than any other group on nairaland, the length of our thread shows that.

when W/ham beat us, we had most of our squad out and were in a bad state. the two times we beat you - you were flying high and carrying on like you were unbeatable. both times we brought you crashing down to earth. you should thank Arsenal for those two kicks in the butt - they probably will end up getting u the prem this year.

RVP - 13 goals and no games since January is our best player, followed by Henry - 12 goals and no games from January either. The others - Gallas, Rosicky, Eboue, Ljunberg have been going from one injury to another, hardly ideal for building up a good head of steam.

Henry entering his decline? show me any striker who scores 12 goals when he's at 50% like T14 did this season. He'll shut all you doubters up next season

How 'sweet' was the 'entertaining and effective' footie at the san siro? puleeze come up with a new tale.

We (Arsenal) haven't performed up to potential this season for a myriad of seasons - injuries (more major than for any other in the top 4), new stadium, many new players, etc. Those aren't excuses, but we still play the most entertaining footie in England at our best.

Chelsea is going down tomorrow.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: What Happened To Manchester United? by Dreloaded(f): 11:14pm On May 05, 2007
keep on talking man - the truth is: 3-2 up and you messed it up! cheesy

that wasn't Arsenal/Chelski's fault, y'all are just local champions this time around, even with all your rooney/ronaldo noise

we've lost our best players for most of the season, so don't compare Arsenal's season to Man Utd's, besides, we beat you twice this season - with all your best players fit! so don't go talking crap.

Milan whupped your butts real good, deal with it.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: What Happened To Manchester United? by Dreloaded(f): 9:22am On May 05, 2007
the liverpool that beat them at Istanbul? you should know that is beef talkng, that defeat still hurts milan

fact is: against liverpool, they conceded 3 as well, but they thrashed you guys 3-0 with no reply

he is trying to play mindgames with Benitez, but the dude is too smart for that. Still I hope liverpool wins, Maureen and Fergie will have fits cheesy

I currently work as a Research Assistant, under my M.Sc. program. I'm in charge of a project to develop an inexpensive method to sequester CO2 from exhaust gases from coal power plants to slow down global warming. I hope to work in environmental services/oil and gas after though.

hear what some commentators had to say about your shambolic performance

"Milan had far superior teamwork, and a much more solid shape that United found it impossible to penetrate, or even threaten to penetrate. When United had the ball, Milan read them like an open book. And when Milan had the ball they moved it around with practiced ease and made the visitors look dim and clueless. The Red Devils looked like Red Muppets. While United had no leader, Milan had leaders everywhere." - Myles Palmer

I officially rechristen you The Red Muppets!! grin grin grin

Politics › Re: A Letter From Prof Pat Utomi by Dreloaded(f): 1:14am On May 04, 2007
your reading of the situation is wrong, the contest for the next president will be between the SE and the SS.

first of all PPA only 'won' in Imo because their candidate 'wrote' a letter to the PDP that he would 'defect' after the victory - since the PDP had no candidate over the Ararume/Ugwuh matter, they decided to go for the PPA man and rig him into office, rather than have Agbaso of APGA turn into another Peter Obi whom they will be unable to convince to 'come and chop' in the PDP

Secondly, this same 'minority' reasoning is why everyone expected a SE person to be VP, that Nigeria only stands on the tripod of North West and East, if there is anything I will give Obj, it is that he has reduced the effects of tribal politics, at least in the PDP despite attempts by Kalu and a few others to maintain status quo. In 8 years, even the most optimistic SW candidate will not dream of becoming president, it won't happen.

The main crux of the issue is how well Jonathan performs in office, his ambitions and his relationship with Yar'Adua. If he succeeds in handling these three issues well, he might well be the candidate to beat come 2015, especially if the Y-J administration deals with the ND issue and resolve it.

The second important characteristic is: will the SE ever speak with one voice? presently Kalu wants to be that voice, but his position outside of PDP is a great disadvantage, Ken Nnamani who also made a name for himself has automatically removed himself from reckoning, at least for now, since he has no base even in his home state. Chimaroke may be able to stake a good challenge, since he will be in the senate and will still be in the scheme of things.

we shall not be quiet - like your coach said - being in the finals is what matters, 3 semi-final appearances does not equal CL Cup cheesy

you lost, after having the mad dream (probably caused by the stinky pie they serve at stamford bridge) of a quadruple

you are craaashing down to reality and you don't want us to gloat? impossicant grin grin grin

moan on maureen - that is a treble no one will deny you 3 moaner of the season award in 3 years, bravo grin grin grin

Floppers incorporated

chelsea the more mouth less footie football club. y'all aren't good enough to win in Europe - and a another 500million ( shocked shocked) can't save you

at this rate Mr maureen may be on his way out at the end of this season, since 'oga' wants to win CL at all costs

It really doesn't matter whether 'pool wins or not - bottom line is : despite your money, your club is still a shitty crappy piece of bunkum

grin grin grin grin
Politics › Re: Katsina State After 8 Years Of Yar'adua. by Dreloaded(f): 5:42pm On May 03, 2007
dayokanu - saving for the future has now become a sin

even if he had 20billion - can that change a peoples culture overnight? the almajiri issue is a complex socio-religious matter, it will take more than 'the govt' to change that.

he has built schools, roads, and is investing in cash crops to diversify the state's economic base. that is more than a pass mark to me, especially when you add the fact that he is not corrupt from available statistics.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Dreloaded(f): 5:31pm On May 03, 2007
kai, defeat is painful oh!

after 500million pounds, still no CL? y'all have no class/pedigree - money can't buy that. keep trying and keep spending chelski cheesy

I remember when they were taunting us when we went out to psv, well maureen said one sensible thing (For once) at the press conference

' all this talk about who was better on the night is just for the next couple of days, history cares about only those who go on to the finals, and the fact is liverpool are going and we are not'!!

so thats history for ya - chelski is shyte pure and simple.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: What Happened To Manchester United? by Dreloaded(f): 5:26pm On May 03, 2007
this thread is about your woeful defeat yesterday - the almighty man utd beaten by some ol retirees grin grin grin grin

what happened to wazza, ronaldo, carrick, scholes, giggs and so on?

Arsenal had a tough season, y'all were the onesmaking noise about winning treble, now you'll come back down to earth.

now your silly manager is blaming the FA cheesy did the FA score those 3 beautiful goals, or did they keep ronaldo's scoring boots in England?

y'all are a flop - with our patch patch defence last yr we got to the finals, you guys couldn't even manage that with all your so called stars

scummies are a load of bunkum grin grin grin
