EducationRe: Can I Still Graduate With a First Class? by DrIkB: 8:18pm On Jul 11, 2023
AloyalNigerian:
Hiii!

So, I've been meaning to do this since last year but I just kept putting it off. I'm sorry it took me this long to update everybody who contributed to this thread.

First off, I really appreciate everyone of you for your kind words and encouragement that year. It was just the motivation I needed at that time. I can still remember, clearly in fact, that night
while I was in night class when Ymodolus freakied my account grin. I will never forget you and I really hope to see you one day.

I actually graduated with a first class last year (4.56) and the best graduating student of my department. I was really happy. Hold on. Before I graduated, I got a fully funded scholarship for my MS here in Texas and I travelled in January. God, y'all, and my first class helped me to secure that scholarship.

Even before I left the country, I was working in a 'mouthed' agency in Ikeja as an intern using the skills I learnt along the way. Last year was just so surreal for me. Everything happened so fast.

Well, now that I'm here in the states grin, doing my MS and enjoying every bits of it, I will say this: Whatever you find yourself doing, do it very well. First class or no first class, what life rewards is your tenacity, commitment, and attitude towards work. This is my experience, and I can tell you it's valid.

The journey is just starting for me and I intend to maximize this opportunity and put in my best to create the kind of future that I desire.

Thank you very much:

[quote author=etsuidris post=111402930]Old men wen no wan rest.

BUHARI SPENT 7 YEARS BUILDING THIS FINAL APC EXCO OF PDP BRANCH. WHAT A CHANGE!

1. Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, Chairman, PDP

2. Sen. Ken Nnamani, Deputy Chairman (South), PDP

3. Sen. Iyiola Omisore, National Secretary, PDP.

4. Hon Victor Gaidom, Vice Chairman (South-South), PDP.

5. Osita Medener, Vice Chairman (South East), PDP

6. Once GEJ accept to contest now, the team becomes complete, PDP.

The question is, after the APC National Convention and PDP elements have taken over leadership of the party, will they still tell Nigerians that PDP is bad?

WHO IS STONE AGED IN THIS ARRANGEMENT? PDP THAT HAS SMARTLY WALKED INTO BUHARI'S HEART WITHOUT HIM KNOWING OR BUHARI HIMSELF?

Just asking ni o.
Hissssssssssh

It’s important that you know also that there are only a few members of the APC that were not in the PDP before.

This is my favourite clause;

10. Clause 84 stipulates that anyone holding a political office – ministers, commissioners, special advisers, and others – must relinquish the position before they can be eligible to participate in the electoral process either as a candidate or as a delegate.

Will Prof Osinbajo, Ameachi, Dave Umahi, Orji Uzor Kalu and Rochas Okorocha resign by June 2022 so as to participate in the 2023 Election

.
It didn’t say Elected political office holders, aside Amaechi who is a political appointee , the rest of the list can contest without resigning... and it’s worthy to note, this law as been in place ever since.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Masters Scholarship Program With ₦200k Allowance In Russia, ₦500k Job In Nigeria by DrIkB: 10:02am On Nov 13, 2021
Joey4321:
Hello guys, So this thing has been bothering me for quite a while now and I would like to have someone else's idea on it.

In my mid 20's currently undergoing a masters program at a Russian University (Somewhere around Moscow). Online because of the pandemic. The masters is a full scholarship with a little stipend calculated by your grades.
Now the borders are open and I have the opportunity of being there physically. Its kind of

mandatory right now even. The scholarship is supposed to last 2 years with a mandatory third year where you will have to work for the school as payment for your scholarship. While studying you get paid, little money though, lets say 200k in conversion to naira. While working (On your third year) you also get paid but this depends on the role you interviewed for and your skill level. The masters is in Data Science and that is also my field.

But the only problem now is I just got a really good job here in the country that pays lets say about half a million. With my current projections, I could level up a bit more and settle down in 2 years

Now this current amount is more than what I will get paid in Russia both as a student or as a worker for the next 3 years (According to my projection). However, the school will cover accommodation, so the stipends are just for feeding, coffee, movies and dates, etc.

Do you think the masters is worth me giving up such a opportunity in Nigeria for the abroad?

In a nutshell, do you think having a foreign masters certificate is worth it?
OP; please give link to how you secured the scholarship. Thanks sir

EducationRe: What Happened When I Told My Class Mates That I'm On A 2:1 Not A 1:1 by DrIkB: 5:25am On Jun 09, 2021
KlausMichaelson:
This is our final semester here in school. Today, I was in a deep conversation with a group of my course mates, and we were talking about our performance and grades so far in school. Being their best student they were shocked to hear me tell them that I'm actually on a 2:1 and not a 1:1 and specifically within the range of 4.25 to 4.3 cgpa. Their Shock also shocked me lols grin. Like what were they thinking? And somehow they were disappointed too.

As for me I don't care about their thoughts or opinion about the subject matter, I'm not from a rich home perse, so most at times I spend my time on things that will put money in my pocket rather than books to survive here in school. I even barely read my books, but I'm a very fast learner when I grab a book.

They couldn't fathom why I couldn't make a first class even when they considered me a genius. Anyways, that doesn't matter, maybe some other time in the nearest future things like this won't matter any more. I simply wish myself the very best in life. Graduating top of my class is not an easy feat and I thank God for that. If any of those 1:1 students embark on 10% of
the thingss I do in campus to survy, they will find it difficult making a 2:1 not to talk of a 1:1. So I'm really proud of myself. Glory be to God. Amen!
This summed to how I was in the university, at a time the Dean of my faculty called me... and told me ‘ you’re the smartest in the class’ this class he called me smartest, was 35 students, 3 first class, 22 students in the 2.1 mark of which 16 of us were 4pointers, I was only in 4.2... I asked him why he called me the smartest knowing fully well I was not a first class student.

Then he said a very shocking thing, he said, he knows I give my time to many very active activities (business/work, school & secular politics, campus fellowship) and I still maintain such grades, then he ended it with ‘ for me to even be a politician, it’s because I could deceive people, at that point I laughed, but went home to ponder on those words.

I've never eaten snails, will never knowingly eat them. If one unknowingly eats them, you're supposed to induce vomiting. If you can't, you're to go for ceremonial cleansing.
