Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, paid a visit to Chief Whip of the Senate, Dr Orji Kalu, following his release from Kuje prison.

Igbere TV reports that the Enugu-West lawmaker met with the senator representing Abia North senatorial district, Kalu at Aso Villa residence on Sunday.

The former Governor of Abia was released from Abuja correctional centre following order of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on June 02 ordering his immediate release.

Justice Mohammed Liman, who ordered Kalu’s release, also quashed the 12-year jail term imposed on him last December 5 by Justice Mohammed Idris.

A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has revealed that only the Igbo Presidency in 2023 will heal Igbos the Nigeria.

The Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) disclose this on Friday, June 05, during a zoom interview.

In the interview monitored by IGBERE TV, Fani-Kayode also stated that referendum should be part of Nigeria’s constitution to allow people decide their future.

“Igbo Presidency in 2023 will heal Igbos the wound of the civil war,” he said.

But giving reasons why it may unfortunately not be possible, Fani-Kayode said that Igbo Presidency in 2023 will be difficult considering the people at the helm of affairs in Nigeria today.

Recalling his discussions with the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, when both were prison, Fani-Kayode said that he felt Kanu’s pain on the plight of his people after listening to him.

Fani-Kayode who asked people to watch as his predictions in politics is 8/10 correct on the political situation of Igbos in Nigeria, said that Nigeria, including him owes the Igbos an apology and must do that.

Talking about the ill-treatment given to Igbos in Nigeria before, during and after the war, he said Igbos were forced to exchange any amount they had in banks after the war for just 20 pounds.

He recalled how their properties were looted during the civil war all in the name of abandoned properties. He also mentioned how Igbos were left behind in Nigeria until Olusegun Obasanjo came and gave prominent Igbos like Oby Ezekwesili, Dora Akunyili and Professor Chukwuma Soludo strategic appointments.

He stated that Goodluck Jonathan also continued in that line. He regretted that everything changed in 2015 when Igbos were called 5%.

Speaking on chances of the national leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, clinching the party’s Presidential ticket in 2023, Fani-Kayode said that Tinubu will not get it.

The Cambridge alumnus who shared the video of his interview on his Facebook and Twitter accounts said that the former Lagos State Governor won’t get APC Presidential ticket in 2023.

According to Fani-Kayode, the people that matter in this present government want power to remain in the zone it is now come 2023 and would do everything to achieve that.

Fani-Kayode went ahead to say that even if Tinubu manages to get it, the North will dump him for another candidate from the North who will fly the flag of the opposition party.

Former spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Lagos State chapter, Joe Igbokwe, has been caught up in a fake news storm.

Igbokwe who is also a special adviser on drainage and water resources to the governor of Lagos state, took to his official Facebook account on Saturday, May 30, 2020 to allege that president Muhammadu Buhari has upgraded Enugu Airport to an international standard.

Sharing the photos, Igbokwe captioned it “THE PATHETIC THIEVES SAID THEY REBUILT ENUGU AIRPORT abi?

“Now see our upgraded Enugu Airport. It's now international! What Okechukwu Buhari is doing for this country, especially for we the Igbo's na only God go bless am.

“The southeast has never had it this good in terms of infrastructure development by any previous government. Thank you Lawrence Ibe.”

Checks carried out on the internet by IGBERE TV shows that the picture he used to make the allegation was actually an image that was first used in October 2018.

A simple Google Reversed Image Search by this online newspaper website showed several results of the image in question being previously used for Port Harcourt airport and Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport respectively.

Zubairu Dalhatu Malamai, alleged ex-boyfriend to the new wife of Custom Boss has reportedly sued the lady in court.

Igbere TV recalls that the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd) over the weekend got married to a new bride, Hajiya Zainab Abdullahi in a wedding ceremony, according to the Tribune.

Following the report, leaked documents seen by Igbere TV have shown that the new wife of the Custom Boss, Hajiya Zainab Abdullahi, has been served a letter by ex-boyfriend through his lawyer for dumping him for another man.

The document which was signed by Sir. I.I Wangida Esq. said his client was led by the lady into believing she was going to marry him only for the lady to deceive him and married another man.

Among the items listed that were given to Hadiza by her ex boyfriend Zubairu include over five million naira and other gift items.

However, Igbere TV cannot independently confirm whether the Custom boss is aware of this development.

Igbere TV recalls that Hameed Ali’s first wife, Hajiya Hadiza Jummai Ali died in Abuja on October 29th, 2018 at the age of 53 years old.

Hajiya Ali who was the first lady of Kaduna State when her husband served as a military administrator of the state from 1996 to 1998, left behind her husband, Hameed Ali and four children.

Igbere TV reports that the Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Abia State, Professor Gregory Ibe, has felicitated Nigerian children on the occasion of the 2020 Children’s Day.

Prof Ibe in a statement by his Media & Public Relations Officer, Sleek Ogbonnaya Ogwo, enjoined Nigerian children to imbibe high moral standards while emphasising the acquisition of knowledge and skills that will reposition them for global impact, economic and political relevance.

The professor in his solidarity message also encouraged them to shun peer pressure and all youthful exuberant behaviour that are inimical to both personal growth and societal development.

Situating the current commemoration of the annual event against the backdrop of global trends, Prof Ibe averred that "Since the year 2020 celebration of the Children's Day celebration falls within the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, let us as parents use the stay-at-home period to increase interaction with our dear children and thereby achieve more bonding in the process, while at the same time recommitting ourselves to the task of inculcating spiritual values in the young people, inspired by the biblical injunction that says train up a child in the way he should go,when he grows up, he will not depart from it".

Prof Ibe particularly advised Abia children to key into the online education programme of the state, being championed by the Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, who, in his own words, "being an erudite scholar has brought his rich background in the the knowledge transfer industry to bear on the exercise by devoting time out of his busy schedule to personally coach and mentor our beloved children".

He subsequently pledged sustained collaboration with the state government in the task of enhancing the well-being of Abia children through the deployment of more youth oriented Public Private Partnership projects in the state.

It will be recalled that the United Nations General Assembly had in 1954 passed a resolution compelling member nations to annually set out a day to uphold and celebrate the rights and privileges of children.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu, has congratulated Prof. Godswill Obioma on his appointment as Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Examination Council (NECO).

In a statement made available to Igbere TV on Tuesday, Hon. Kalu tagged the appointment as ‘putting a round peg in a round hole’, noting that Prof. Obioma would bring his wealth of experience in education to reposition the examination body.

Describing the appointee as a true son of Abia and an academic scholar of great repute, who has stamped his scholarly authority in the educational sector, the APC chieftain said he received the news of the appointment with great delight.

“Your appointment as NECO’s helmsman is a testament to your sterling antecedents as Professor of Mathematics Education and Evaluation at the age of 36 in 1991, and as Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) in 2005,” he said.

Hon. Kalu said he was confident that Prof. Obioma will discharge the duties of his new office with diligence and a high sense of patriotism, bringing his long years of experience in educational administration to bear on the nation’s examinations body.

The APC chieftain also expressed deep appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for the appointment, while wishing Prof. Obioma a very successful tenure in his new national assignment as NECO boss.

The new NECO boss is a professor of Education Measurement and Evaluation and former Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).

Until his latest appointment, Igbere TV reports that Prof. Obioma was the Ebonyi State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He hails from Bende, Abia State, and was appointed in 1991 as Professor of Mathematics Education and Evaluation, University of Jos (UNIJOS).

He was also a Director of Monitoring, Research and Statistics, National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), Benin, Edo State from 2001 to 2003.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has expressed sadness over the death of the Commissioner for Environment in Abia State, Solomon Ogunji, Igbere TV reports.

This was contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onyebuchi Ememanka, on Sunday.

The Governor according to the statement described the sudden death of Ogunji as a deeply profound personal loss.

Describing the Late Commissioner as "my best friend", an emotionally distraught Governor Ikpeazu said that his friendship with the Late Dr. Ogunji has remained since his 13th birthday and ever since then, no one else has come closer to him in terms of personal relationships.

"We grew up together, attended the same secondary school where we were classmates. I cannot remember any other person that shares with me the kind of relationship I had with Solo", Ikpeazu continued.

"Many years ago, we both lost our fathers and incidentally, the two burials were fixed for the same day. While the funeral service for his father was still on and before the burial proper, he left his village at Ohambele Ndoki and joined me at Umuobiakwa. He got to my village while we were getting set for the funeral service of my late father.

“I asked him why and he told me that he had two elder brothers who could take charge at home while I was not just the first son but the first child, and so needed all the psychological support I could get. He stayed with me till the next day before returning to his village to join his own family. That is the kind of friend Solo was to me. It went beyond mere friendship.”

"As young boys", the Governor continued, "we shared dreams of our tomorrow at a time when no one knew that we would find ourselves at the top echelon of public service. Solo's death is definitely very hard for me to swallow".

"Solo was a committed workaholic. He was prepared to go the extra mile to protect our mandate and whatever assignments he was given in our government, he handled with an uncommon commitment.

“You could never find him wanting. For him, it was beyond the ordinary call of duty, it was an obligation he owed me, his best friend. I trusted him completely".

He described the Late Dr. Ogunji as strong, brave, courageous, well educated, committed, defiant and straight forward to a fault.

Recalling the role he played in securing the World Bank approval for the reconstruction of Ngwa Road, Port Harcourt Road, Uratta Road, Obohia and Ohanku Roads, Governor Ikpeazu stated that as an expert in Project Implementation and Management, late Dr. Ogunji was his first choice in managing that project on behalf of the State Government and he had started well by getting the contractor to agree to construct an alternative route linking Ngwa Road from No. 1 Port Harcourt Road to provide easy access to residents in that area while the main project proceeded.

"More than ever before", The Governor emphasized, "I shall do everything humanly possible to ensure that the reconstruction works on those roads are pursued to their logical conclusions. This is a duty I owe Solo".

In the words of Governor Ikpeazu, "with Solo's death, things will never be the same again for me".

He prayed God to accept his soul and comfort his family and all those he left behind.

Social media has been in a frenzy with the news of a controversial and highly misplaced video on Facebook, made on the 9th of May, 2020, by a Facebook user, “Atheist Yanick Aka”, who is also the spiritual son of self- proclaimed “Prophet-Messenger and Light of the world, outside of whom none can be saved”, Prophet Kacou Philippe.

In the video, fanatical Atheist, Yanick Aka, negated the March 21st, 2020 prophecy of Billionaire Prophet, Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin; a prophecy predicting the gradual receding of the COVID-19 pandemic, that has since been confirmed in many countries. He said that the prophecy was not fulfilled, and that any evidence given to perpetuate the fact, was false.

Yanick went on to insult Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin as well as other critically acclaimed Men of God, calling them all sorts of names and making some disturbing accusations.

Days later, on the 17th of May, 2020, spiritual son of Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, and Lead Pastor of Household of Mercy and Deliverance Ministry, Lokoja, Prophet Gideon Isah has put out an informative reply to the heretic, Yanick Aka.

Prophet Gideon Isah started by reminding the general public that the prophecy made by his spiritual father, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin was very precise and had clearly stated that the pandemic would gradually start to end in 38 days, from country to country, “batch by batch”. Evidence also clearly shows that this has been the case since late April.

He went on to say that his spiritual father even predicted the coming of the pandemic in 2014 and 2016, respectively. In the former, he had called it World War III and a time of mass death, unlike anything he had ever experienced; a term that was echoed 6 years later, by US President, Donald Trump. In the latter prophecy, he called it a worldwide disease that would take many lives.

Prophet Gideon Isah also invalidated the baseless claims of Yanick Aka that sought to defame the character of his spiritual father, showing evidence of how Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin has been a true father, provider and spiritual mentor to the flock that God has given him.

He pointed out that Yanick Aka is only a psychopath and a puppet to his spiritual father and sponsor, Kacou Philippe, a highly controversial troublemaker who was convicted and imprisoned in 2016 for his misleading, satanic and mischievous practices, and subsequently banned from preaching in many countries, for 5 years.

The self- proclaimed “Prophet- Messenger” also has four children by four different women, and still had the nerve to get his puppet to point accusing fingers at other men of Faith, because he himself has been banned from continuing his Antichrist activities.

Prophet Gideon Isah sang the praises of his spiritual father and urged people not to be led astray by the lies of a messenger sent by the enemy of the Body of Christ.

He stated that things such as going to the mountain to pray or dancing to the glory of God, were things done by the Fathers of Faith, in days of old, and were therefore biblical, God-approved practices for men of God to carry out. He condemned Atheist Yanick Aka for trying to demonize the sincere walk of God’s true prophets.

He also said that the wrath of God would be meted out upon these men who tried to distort the word of God in their favor and claim to be demigods on earth as they’re are Worshiped by their follower.

Prophet Gideon Isah called Yanick Aka and his spiritual father out, asking them to show proof of how they have been helping their nation and congregation to survive the COVID-19 Lockdown measures, before pointing accusing fingers at men who are making enormous impact, in this period. He attested to Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin making massive donations and giveaways to the needy, and to assist the Federal Government.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has said that there are indications that 80 percent out of every 100 percent people tested in Kano State for coronavirus tests positive, making the state a high rate of community transmission of COVID-19.

This was made known by the head of the presidential COVID-19 task force in Kano state, Nasiru Gwarzo, during an interview with BBC monitored by Igbere TV.

Igbere TV reports that this is coming barely 24 hours after UNICEF’s Head of Communications in the Kano Field Office, Malam Rabiu Musa, died of suspected COVID-19.

Rabiu’s death is among those of several dignitaries who died in the last few days, with one of his sons saying symptoms suspected to be of Coronavirus were noticed in the deceased adding that the result of the test conducted is not yet out.

Gwarzo stated that there was increased testing capacity in the state. “The state needs and urgent intervention as the disease wass spreading to various areas,” he added.

“When about 100 samples are delivered, there are five to ten that are positive (for coronavirus).

“But now, when 100 samples are returned, about 80 are coronavirus cases,” Gwarzo said.

Confirming Musa’s death to newsmen on Saturday, Musa said his father’s illness lasted a a few days.

He said, “My dad died at about 3 a.m on Saturday, after battling with a sickness for a few days. Although, we noticed symptoms we suspect to be of coronavirus, the result of the test conducted is not yet out.

“A week ago, he complained of sore throat and malaria, but after few days of medication, he became normal. Few days later, he complained that he was finding it difficult to breath.

“He also complained that no matter how short he walked, he lost breath. So, he was taken to the National Orthopaedic Hospital in Dala on Friday where he gave up.”

Igbere TV gathers that the UNICEF official died on Saturday, May 2, at the age of 60, “after battling with sickness for a few days”.

The deceased is survived by seven children and one wife.

Till date (May 2, 2020), no Coronavirus case has been reported in Cross River State. Of the 200 or so countries and territories in the world, 181 have reported at least one case of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19, according to the count being kept by the World Health Organisation.

The pandemic, which emerged in late December in Wuhan, China, has spread across the world at an alarming rate — topping 1 million cases as of May 1, 2020. The virus, which leads to a respiratory illness that can be transmitted from droplets of body fluids - such as mucus and saliva, is nearly everywhere.

What should we then make of the two States in Nigeria that have not reported cases? Are they unable to test? Are they lying? Are they that isolated? The bulk of the states in Nigeria have reported cases except for Cross River and Kogi.

It is on record that Scientists, health officials, and governments across the world have encouraged citizens to practice physical distancing and to avoid going out unless for essential purposes. The Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade, is a Microbiologist.

However, my investigation reveals that the current COVID-19 status of Cross River state is as a result of the proactive approach by the governor to keep the State safe, which was lacking in most other states.

In the words of Ayade, “A lot of what people refer to as a huge surprise is down to very effective response that has been basic but laced with effective public health - well-functioning programs, doing the basics, but doing them very, very well.”

Some observers have also alleged that Cross River might not have registered any Covid-19 cases due to a lack of testing kits. My thorough investigation reveals the contrary. Cross River state was among the first states in Nigeria (even before Lagos State) to monitor their borders and to screen those that were entering the State.

Some of the measures taken in Cross River include:

• Free distribution of Face Masks to the residents of the State. All thanks to the fact that Cross River has one of the largest garment producing factories in Nigeria

• Enforcing the “No mask, No movement” policy. No one can go out in public without using a Face mask

• Ban on all social gatherings such as bars, churches, mosques, etc. and the restriction of public gatherings to not more than five people

• Enforcing the social distancing rule

• Among many others

The high literacy level and awareness in the State also played its part. Over 3,800 health workers went around since January 2020 to educate people about Coronavirus and Lassa Fever.

In response to the skeptics that are wary about the State of preparedness of Cross River to handle the virus in case it creeps in, it’s important to emphasize that Gov. Ayade’s administration have well-equipped isolation centers, one of the best in the country, to handle such.

The governor said the primary concern of Cross River is to create jobs so that their economy can thrive even when the Coronavirus pandemic is over. The palliative measure that has been put in place ensures that food is given to the Elderly while jobs are given to the youths.

There are many lessons to learn from this experience. However, we must commend the dexterity, proactiveness, and pragmatic approach of the Government and people of Cross River State in tackling the Coronavirus pandemic.

In the light of the current challenge facing the bulk of the States in Nigeria, we can borrow a leaf from Cross River to show the world that we can get our acts right even in the face of stiff health and economic challenges.

The police command in Abia State has accused members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who attended the burial of the parents of their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu of smoking Indian Hemp.

The commissioner of Police in Abia State, Mr Etim Okon, made this known in an interview with Igbere Tv on Tuesday.

According to him; “They were doing their thing, police were there full and they were doing their thing, we never touched anybody, although some of them were dancing while some were taking Indian Hemp all in the presence of our men.”

“The police were just looking at them with no legal action taken because they were order not want to do anything that will truncate the peace being maintained at the ceremony.”

Nnamdi Kanu lost his father Eze Israel Kanu, four months after his mother, Ugoeze Sally Kanu, also died.

Although the IPOB leader lost his mother in August 2019, the development was only announced recently.

HRH Eze Israel Kanu and Ugoeze Sally Kanu who died last year were laid to rest in Afaraukwu, Umuahia, Abia State, on February 14.

Present at the burial were Imo Traditional Rulers, former presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan and wife, Patience Jonathan, Cross River state governor, Ben Ayade, Founder and Director of Igbere TV News, Emeh James Anyalekwa, among other top dignitaries.

The arraignment of former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke was on Wednesday stalled in an FCT High Court in Gwagwalada over confusion from the EFCC.

EFCC counsel Bala Sanga told the court that he was at a loss as to why he was in court.
