Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has said her billionaire husband Ned Nwoko can marry as many wives as he wants, Igbere TV reports.

The mother of one said this in a tweet shortly after her Mr Nwoko said she was aware he could marry more wives.

Nwoko made the statement on Wednesday in an Interview with BBC Igbo.

“So whether I marry another wife or not; she knows it can happen. I come from a very polygamous environment. I love children so I want more children. She knows this and my other wives know it so we will see what happens in the future,” he said.

Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has preached about self-love with pictures of herself in a lingerie, Igbere TV reports.

A Nigerian lady identified as @obidi on Twitter recently got members of the internet community talking after reacting to the news of singer LAX’s new mansion, Igbere TV reports.

I Gave An Honest Answer — Garba Shehu Reacts To Backlash Over Comment On Slain Farmers

Senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity Garba Shehu on Monday took to social media to clarify his statement earlier in the day that 43 farmers who were gruesomely murdered by Boko Haram fighters on Saturday in Borno had no military clearance to resume farming, Igbere TV reports.

Mr Shehu came under backlash after his statement in an interview on BBC.

He tweeted later, saying he gave an honest answer to the question of whether the security agents certified the area terrorist-free.

“Today, I found myself leading the trends in the social media for the wrong reasons,” he wrote.

“The State of Borno is essentially a military zone up till now that we are talking and much of what people do; much of where they go are governed by the exigencies of security.

“Routinely, traders, administration officials and even UN agencies get the green light to go to many of the areas to avoid trouble.

“Information from security agencies says that the Zabarmari marshlands are infested with land mines and movements in around those areas subject to military oversight.

“No one is delighted with the massacre in Zabarmari and there is nothing anybody will gain by playing blame games.

“The question I tried to answer on BBC was: did the security sign off on the area as being free of mines and terrorists? The honest answer is, no.”

Singer Tiwa Savage has knocked a journalist known as Motolani Alake for his review of her Celia album, Igbere TV reports.

Motolani who works for Pulse Nigeria had on Sunday described Tiwa’s album as an endorsement of ‘Mungo Parking’ in an article.

Co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) campaign Aisha Yesufu has knocked Kano State Hisbah Board over its letter written to a radio station in the state 96.9 Cool FM, directing it not to use the term ‘Black Friday’ anymore, Igbere TV reports.

In her reaction, Mrs Yesufu argued that Black Friday is related to giving because goods are sold at discounted prices, adding that Islam preaches giving.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Sunday urged the Federal Government to increase taxes on the super-rich in order to raise government income as the county slides into recession, Igbere TV reports.

Atiku tweeted his idea of how Nigeria could survive recession after the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) announced on Saturday that the nation’s GDP contracted by 3.62 per cent in the third quarter of 2020, better than its 6.10 per cent contraction in the second quarter.

Atiku said the recession could have been avoided if the Buhari administration had listened to him and others.

He called on the government to first of all scrap the 2021 budget, saying it “is no longer tenable.”

“For example, a stimulus package, in the form of monthly cash transfers of ₦5,000 to be made to every bank account holder, verified by a Bank Verification Number, whose combined total deposit in the year 2019 was lower than the annual minimum wage,” he said.

On how to fund the stimulus package, Igbere TV reports that Atiku suggested that a luxury tax be placed on goods and services accessible only to the extremely wealthy individuals.

“Now, how will this be funded? By more profligate borrowing? No. I propose a luxury tax on goods and services that are exclusively accessible only to the super-wealthy. A tax on the ultra wealthy to protect the extremely poor,” Atiku said.
