I'm here o. Got to Germany on the 7th, I've been trying to get settled ASAP because pre-courses had started for my program and I needed to attend as many as I could - lots of Maths and physics now.
I just read thru. I might not be able to for a while. About studying in Germany, I think this place is good for studies. They are intense but you get to be one of the best in your field. It's organised and you have to follow the rules. I hope I can give more insight on jobs and my course soon.
As many as are aspiring to study here keep at it and pray. Trust God he'll do what's best for you. Wishing everyone good success. ADs, AMs and Visums. God bless

Sheayi we both have same problem. Me I have put money in my block account since August up till now no date.
If not for the fact that I blocked my account already and paid part of my fees the moment I heard about that new UK visa policy I would have switched immediately

After the whole process they'd refund the money including the charges don't worry. A friend had the same issue last year and got the money back. Only the transfer charges are lost.
It's always better to get AD before funding to avoid these hassles.

Oh yeah.. I did that intentionally. Thought it might ease someone's anxiety. I was scared my deadline was close to my AD also then. (5weeks)

I really don't think it's about the PhD. @heybaby mentioned that she told her VO that she has no intention of returning to Nigeria till she reaches the peak of her studies; this is someone that was going for another Bsc in her 30s. Today she's in Germany. So clearly PhD is not the issue.
Sorry to those who received rejections, it can be really devastating. But thankfully so many useful suggestions have been given and I'm sure there'll be breakthroughs. It is well.

My opinion on the returning back to Naija thing is that it might differ from VO to VO. For any visa application interview to any country it's best to let them know you don't intend to stay longer than the purposed visa application. I think that point about what you'd be returning to do after studies should be in the motivation letter also. By the way this is my opinion based on what I've noticed with visa applications. It might not be the cause of the rejection but it could be a part of the solution. It will end in praise in Jesus name. Amen

You are absolutely right. I received my AM from the email I used for visa appointment even though I submitted totally different email address at the interview.

it's possible a friend had same issue during summer she was lucky the VO latter called her that her email is not correct that they have been trying to send her AM since so try out a call across of U suspect error

Please is it possible that VO makes a mistake with email address? I had the impression that the email used for visa appointment is the one they maintain as it wasn't among the details we confirmed and signed. Any views about this please? I had a discussion with a friend that got me a little worried because I just called it out and didn't confirm mine during the interview. Thanks.

ok bro...please how many times did you make the transfer because i heared that they have limit of transfer per week.

I think for transfers into and out of dom account it's 10,000 dollars or it's equivalent per day. The1000 per week limit is for cash deposits. I did my transfer to Fintiba twice because of the increase in BA. If you are just about to deposit cash you should opt for another bank. However if the money will be transferred to your account then GTB can still work out. Also do confirm at the branch you Intend to use first. Hope this is helpful.

I did. The first time sending 8829 I was charged about 13k from my naira account and then the foreign ones charged 15euros so i got a confirmation of 8814
