Very few people have been frank about it, this has allowed mediocres to dominate the space. Allow mediocre have their say. Last I looked there was still freedom of speach. Those mediocre are not the people u should fear but the learned and quiet ones. Those are the dangerous ones. |

They claim the Albino is "the only recognised leader of iPod".. If we may ask, who appointed the Albino or anyone else as leader(s) for the beerfuran course?? When and where did such a meeting take place and who were the people in attendance?? Kanu is nothing but a fraudster capitalising on the gullibility and emotions (hate) of those he claims to represent to rob them in broad day light.
Kanu knows how pained those people are after jonathan lost his reelection bid and is cashing in on their agony/anger. Those same people who were just months ago willing and enthusiastic Ambassadors of Nigeria (remember TAN) have suddenly become sworn enemies of same country- kanu sees this and uses it to his advantage to defraud them- simple.
They can insult and rip themselves apart- after all, it wouldn't be the first time.
Ps: Thank God this is coming from an iPod sympathetic site just like vanguard, so no yewt can come here wailing "Lagos-Ibadan" nonsense. Little wonder they are avoiding the thread. True I agree too. But what u forget is thst they are just backing nothing more. If they ever learn or start the other part of terrorism, not the part that boko haram was doing cos I doubt any igbo man will gladly blow himself up for no reason but I mean guerrilla warfare and sniping of prominent figures. Then be rest assured that things will quickly go outa hand. |

maclatunji: Some people's basis for opposing President Muhammadu Buhari is that they are Igbo and he is from Katsina.
They have aligned themselves with organizations like IPOB and NigerDelta militants which they see as vehicles to execute their opposition.
However, there is an emerging trend that threatens the reality of people like this. It is the fact that the policies of President Muhammadu Buhari's government are beginning to favour the Southeast (Igbos). For example, Innoson is getting a $1 billion deal (https://www.nairaland.com/3424462/innoson-motors-signs-deal-china) and Aba bootmakers are getting contracts from the military (https://www.nairaland.com/3431809/army-orders-made-aba-boots).
Hence, bigoted Igbos are not finding it easy to antagonize these developments without being exposed as 'enemies of progress'. Stuwpid stuwpid stuwpid. What are u hoping to get with this? Some people like seeing trouble and putting their hands in the eye. drnoel out |

ElsonMorali: Yeah I know it is. I just wish more people would key into the idea of liberating Nigeria from this useless Unitary system. Before an igbo presidency will ever happen the southeast has to first position itself and speak with one voice. Not the voices of people with self interest like Rochas, Uzor Kalu, TA Orji, Udenwa and all others who have plundered and reduced the southeast to the ruins it is today. We should take the Initiative and develope our region, then we fight disunity and speak in one voice. Unions like Ipob, massob, and those pan igbo groups have not done anything for south east so we don't need them. If we can be united and can rally the south south to our call. We could be bold enof and also partner with the southwest cos it is clear they too are tired of the state of things. If all those could happen then we may have a voice to speak of igbo presidency in like 20 years. This is a good initiative: https://www.nairaland.com/3433037/rethinking-south-east |

Tell me Mr. OP, what does the SEastern part of this country stand to gain with an Igbo presidency? Considering the fact that the North that has rules this country the longest is actually the most impoverished, backwards and uneducated with the lowest index in quality of life.
I see you mentioned the current deputy Senate president in your list of credible leaders of Ignore extraction worthy of our votes. I can't help but laugh in Swahili.
Why don't you channel your energy into promoting something that would be truly beneficial to everybody, a true fiscal federalism where the federation states have autonomy and can truly impact on the lives of those in the grassroots.
Your campaign for Igbo presidency is a complete waste of effort and time. Allow them chase winds they can't catch. Which igbo man will the southeast all unite behind? Nobody. Which igbo man will the southeast, south south and southwest unite behind? Nobody. U see brodas its just a fantasy not a dream. |

ladyverere: OK. There is nothing like a 'liberal believing Christian'. I try to be fair because I have a lot of brothers and they struggle to be good men and great husbands. I have handled and still handling cases involving couples who cohabited and had kids. Not even 1 or 2 but up to 4, 5 and 6 kids! The men got tired of the women and left. Within a year they are property married to some other woman! And guess what? These are men whose women did everything, and I mean everything for them. Women should be very careful. Love should be mutual and as it is never enough to sustain any long-term relationship women should ensure the men cares for them deeply, respects them and they are highly responsible. Do not waste ur feelings and resources on someone who is only there for some freebies. Those cases u mentioned are just a select few out of many other situations. I can also give u many other case scenario. Don't rule something out cos u have no knowledge of it. And there is something called liberality in the belief that Christ existed. U just don't know about it and I can relate with u there. I too didn't know it existed till some years ago. Anyways ur experience, people u meet and ur surrounding influences ur belief as in ur case. Just know and remember one thing, the fact that we believe in God and attempt to be christ like doesn't mean we have to condemn, judge and accuse. Christ said brethren be mindful of ur actions and try not to judge least u urself be judged. Ur statement that prompted this discuss sounded judgemental. May God bless u as u learn from this. |

ladyverere: Wait, U said 'back home' then I guess U r not in Nigeria. What I said wasn't just an opinion but from stark experience. My own personal experience, not just once but 2x! Currently my colleague and best friend is also going through the same thing. Pursue men here in Nigeria and they will take U for granted. If the feeling is mutual then it is good but if it is one sided then U in trouble. U cannot force someone to love U, a thing I have learnt to my cost. U can never put ur husband before God in ur life unless of course U r a mere church goer. God first no matter what. And by the way way., I am no longer single. I was before. As for cohabitation, I maintain it is completely and utterly wrong unless the couple r not genuine and bible believing Christians then they can do whatever they want adult or not. Ur friend was lucky her man loved her genuinely for herself and the feeling is mutual. Do not assume it must be the same for every couple. To each his own. Never forget that. A lady who feels attracted to a guy should pursue him all she wants and gives herself to him but she should be ready for the consequences when he does not feel the same way towards her. A promiscuous husband would be promiscuous whether U put him first or last. A Christian wife married to a Christian husband knows the balance. Putting God first doesn't mean neglecting ur home. U say U r married but I don't see ur experience unless of course U r a free thinker in which case U will never understand my points. When God is first in ur home, He makes ur home straight. U will both understand each other and give selflessly. It will never be one sided. Am not a free thinker but a liberal believing Christian. I intend to raise my children also in that way but I am not dogged in my Godly belief neither am I into misreading the scriptures and applying it wrongly in my life. One has to find the balance in ones life according to ones belief. U don't see me talking those things cos am a very private person thats why but felt I had to correct a statement. Yes it is obvious ur experience has made u have a sad notion about men but as u say u are a Christian look into urself and u will see u are judging men to harshly. The fact that Jimmy is bad doesn't mean Timmy is bad too. |

ladyverere: Really? I guess U r a guy. A woman should have self respect and dignity. Even when she is in love with a guy she must keep it quiet and if d man is God's choice for her he will eventually make d move. Cohabitation btw unmarried couple is completely wrong and inexcusable. What happens to the woman if the man decides he is now bored with her? There are many women who make their husbands their idols and sole pet projects, it is wrong but these sort of women are destined to be miserable and frustrated and the husbands would take them for granted, not to mention being stifled. So I believe every wife should put God first in their homes that's the only way they can be content. Madam that thinking is so wrong it hurts to hear or see it written. As I said thank God thats just ur opinion and not a statement of fact. I know couples who the wives proposed to and they are wed. Infact my tightest pal proposed to her husband and even provided the money to marry him, took him outside the country and set him up. They are happy and blessed with 4 kids and are in their 10th year of marriage. She put him through school and now he has a very good paying job and doesnt joke her. Don't get me wrong, I dont support cohabitating but such level in a relationship is not for children. If a couple decide they are ready to cohabit who can stop them when they are adults? The mistake u make is the fellacy of thinking that its a man's world and men are the stronger of tge sexes. I don't blame u, the african mentality doesn't allow our women move their necks. My wifey also had such orientation before I corrected it. U will be making a big mistake if u continue thinking in that line. If a man looses interest in a woman it won't matter if he was the one who pursued her or if she was the one so also if a woman looses interest. I don't know why our brains back home is so twisted backwards it doesn't allow us think clearly. About putting God first thats what ever human being should do. Am sure u are unmarried thats why u can talk such things cos u are inexperienced. Advice to u, don't ever make the mistake to put god before u husband cos u will return and catch him probably gone or sleeping ur housemaid. Word enof! |

Second, why are you against this patriotic act of lending a hand in rebuilding the Northeast? Shouldn't we be our brothers' keeper?
Third, the bill will definitely sail through in the lower house. The honourable members are guided by facts, not hatred and tribalism.
The Southern senators who voted in favour of the bill are citizens who identify with the dire situation the people of the Northeast find themselves. Whether the armed group was allowed to fester by the elite or not won't rebuild schools, fight the scourge of war nor provide nutrient to highly malnourished children. The people of the Northeast have suffered enough. They need empathy, Tonye, not scorn and sneer.
By the way, other regions can agitate for a development commission if they have the political weight to pull it through. But did these southern senators come to their constituents to ask them if they supported such a move? No sir, they did not. So they voted on their own without the go ahead of their constituents. |

We ladies must understand that it is men who should pursue us, propose to us and desire being married to us more than us. Ur first mistake was to pursue him. Ur 2nd mistake was to cohabit with him with the full knowledge that he is in a relationship. D straw that brokes the camel's back is ur deliberately becoming pregnant. Maaamaaa: I will try my best not be biased about our story and if you have any questions to ask please do.
I met him last year December precisely and we both work in the same office, we became best of friends but he was in a relationship (distant) and I was single. We were really close because we both were new in town with no family around and then I fell in love with him and opened up about my feelings to him but he said he was in a relationship.
I was hurt but I held my head up and moved on. I started mingling with other male colleagues and then he became jealous and so I confronted him about it (still loved him) and u also told him to choose between us and he said he wants me. His decision was based on the fact that the other lady was far away, he thought she was promiscuous and she is an OND holder etc (I got to find out about this later).
We moved in together because of financial stress and talked about getting married next year... Late June this year I found out he had not broken up with the other lady, confronted him about it and he settled the issue.
I got pregnant July and he asked for an abortion, I insisted on keeping the baby with or without marriage.. He finally accepted to marry me and proceeded to tell my parents(he later said I forced him to that). He accused me of so many things and called me different names.
He traveled to his hometown and informed his parents about it all and met with the lady. On his return, he said the lady gives him peace and if I lose this pregnancy he will go back with her and that he loves her but he is just getting married to me because he respects my family and do not want to bring shame to me at work.
I cried, prayed and endured it all. Two weeks ago his family came for the introduction and the wedding has been fixed for December but I'm not happy.
I'm a shadow of myself, he feels disgusted by my presence and I can't say anything without him getting angry. I used to nag and quarrel a lot but I've stopped, even when I'm angry I just walk away.
He does not care about me and this pregnancy and if I tell him I'm sick or tired or anything, he will just say that I'm not the first to get pregnant and that it's when I push the baby he will take responsibility.
I have tried my best and I'm confused, last night I called him peacefully to ask him what I'm doing wrong but he said I'm disturbing him. I used to call his parents and my parents to intervene but he said I should stop that and I have stopped.
Please what can I do to save our relationship, it's not easy for me . this is not the man I fell in love with help me and please I need your advice because I am ready to do anything.
I want my child to have a normal family. The thing about telling someone the truth is that it hurts at first and the continue hurting for awhile. Sure it hurts but for ones peace of mind its always best to face the truth and look it in the face. The relationship is dead in my point of view until proven otherwise. A relationship becomes dead when feelings become strictly one sided, when one of the party involved starts irritating the other. Sorry but u have to woman up and move on. If u care for the guy let him go, its not worth the pain. If u marry him u will both make urselves miserable. Take ur pregnancy and move on. There is no shame there since u are a working class lady and taking care of yourself. If he turns around after u have moved on and u still care for him then thats ur choice but dont waste another minute hanging unto a man that has told u all he has so far. His reason to want to wed u should be for u not the package. |

This thread of mine's been resurrected?
The latest failures on automatics (I'm talking mass failure) has been with the new Ford Galaxy, Mondeo, S-Max, C-Max.
The transmission fitted to auto models is the dual-clutch transmission, which Ford dubbed "Powershift". The equivalent of BMW's SMG, or Audi / Volkswagen's DSG.
For those that reside in the UK, you are not likely to have missed seeing the Panther Black Ford Galaxy's run by Addison Lee, the largest privately run taxi service in the UK. Addison Lee buys 250 Ford Galaxy's a month from Dagenham Motors, Edgware Road. Up until last week, I was contracted to Dagenham Motors, on the night shift.
This is a bit long winded, but please bear with me, and you'll see where I'm heading.
The Powershift auto transmission in the Ford models I listed above have been far from reliable. Addison Lee is a major client of Ford, given the number of vehicles they purchase monthly. When I visited Dagenham Motors for the first time, the first thing that struck me was the vast number of Addison Lee Ford Galaxies on site. There were never less than 25 at any given time, ranging from 2011 - 2013 models.
They were there due to transmission or the wet clutch failure. And due to the fact the backlog of cars waiting to have replacement transmissions or replacement clutch damper units, the "Night Shift" was born. There was simply no way the day staff was going to get through them! Besides the vast number on site, there were more booked in, but not collected, due to space. This was what I ended up with, replacing transmissionns and clutch damper units every night. I've never seen such mass failure of any auto transmission, from just 1 brand, all in one place - some of the failures occured as early as 30,000 miles, on 2012 cars!
The manual models I've never worked on, never replaced their clutches. The Powershiftauto tranny in the vehicles I'v e listed are built by Getrag, so are fitted in other vehicles besides Ford. Now, that's a TON of transmissions worldwide, that are waiting time bombs! In countries where warranties are upheld, not too bad, if the cars are in warranty. What happens to failures in cars on Nigerian soil, or other developing countries? The same transmission is used in automatic versions of the Ford Kuga (Ford Escape in North America).
Is anyone seeing a pattern here? @Nobody, u obviously know ur cars. Respect. If you and any other car gurus are still on this thread. I would like to humbly ask if any of you smart guys have heard to work on or know problems with Nissan Juke 2013 model. I recently acquired one for madam a year and half ago and have not had to do nothing major on the car yet. The car is also fully insured but my fear now is if it will develope any major issues once the warranty passes which should be sometime in october next year. Waiting to hear from u guys. Meanwhile great thread, have learnt much. |

viperman: Ikenna, the manual transmission is good no doubt, thats probably why its still used for formula-1 racings and Rally's. That said, technology is to improve lives, and technology has created automatics, step/tiptronics etc, and people have adopted it. Its not only africans that have jumped onto the automatic transmission bandwagon, even europeans have also, so whats the whole "mental colonisation " talk about must everything be about that? If a race improves on something, I shouldn't use it because, i want to be seen as mentally independent? Tomorrow, something better than automatic is surely in the cooking pot of the auto giants, and when it comes out, people who love to try NEW THINGs will jump on it, if it feels good for them, they'd buy it, if not, they'd definitely trash it.
With the stress people have to go through in their daily lives in the homes, offices etc, I don't think adding stress of driving manual transmissions would make sense to plenty. Except those who want to drive it for special purposes/events e.g racing OR those who are auto engineers who drive it for better/core understanding and feel of a car's engineering. I think u spoke well but just want to highlight a point. The reason manual is used for formular 1 cars is not cos it is better than automatic but the intentions behind the racing which is to test both the driver and car. Those words came from a friend of mine who is a professional race car and bike driver. |
