odimbannamdi: Thanks for these business nuggets and tuts of wisdom. We appreciate.
You made of mention of you NEVER venturing into hire purchase for your cars again. It came as a shock to me, as i would have thought that hire purchase is the perfect model for this business as it demands more commitment from the driver partner and absolves you of repair hassle, which is a big relief for me.
Could you be kind enough to highlight the advantages Rental has over Hire Purchase, from your wealth of experience?
Thanks bro I never did hp at all ..drivers have a hard time paying for the normal rental to begin with , so na Hp dey want pay ...too much stress from it ..not worth it for me .. Plus I take of my car to last longer than Hp agreement .so I don't see the need for hp. |

I'm not saying one shouldn't work hard, but it's necessary to watch your health, especially with the kind of traffic we have lately. I only drove 4 days last week and still achieve sometin reasonable, I think that's enough for me. It's kind of crazy I may go 6 days dis week, these people keep enticing me with bonus, what can a man do? The bonus don't come everyday Person no fit joke in peace again |

X21: other points to note choice of car- 1.6 or max 1.8 litres engine capacity will save operator fuel cost. good Nigeria use corolla can be gotten for 1.2m vs 1.8m on direct tokumbo. Driver selection- a very key success factor. experience shows that drivers who were once mechanics or involved in repairs manage vehicle better. they easily diagnose faults and are not cheated by mechanics. Ensure that driver you intend to engage does not have large family else your delivery will end up for family upkeep. So many good driver start to default as family and responsibility increases. Ensure you do not engage drunk or addicts otherwise delivery will be used to fund addiction. And most importantly is that investors should only buy the amount of cars they can manage efficiently.... Magic number for me is 5 |

Babadee1900: Good Health can never be under rated. Recently people have been complaining about my look and how lean I’ve been become. Recall that fews week ago I did a vehicle delivery for my friend in Abeokuta, when he saw he me, first thing he asked me was ‘guy shey you sick’? I had to cancel my plan of stopping at my moms place before coming back to Lagos. That woman will ground me
Two weeks ago that’s how I jam my mama for my sister’s place ....you know the rest.
Errm how far the babe matter, you don light am? Samething when person is broke.. School fees, hunger, accommodation issue , woman no go look your side, if you happen to be married , wife no go respect, children school fees go dey ur mind, suicide thoughts sets in ,depression etc... deedee44: You've been in this business for years, are you not really putting in the work? Cuz I know you're not making close to 10 million naira per year. Now to investors out there or to anyone.... Look for passive income or something that brings you daily cash ..cash is king... transportation is 1 of those business, but dont put all your eggs in 1 basket .. Spread your risk around...... Without fully going into details, the information I give here is free, most business man will not give such .. When it comes to uber business , my advice for investors is buy not more than 5cars .. Make sure it is Civic 03 to 05 .. Look for a mechanic that specialize on Honda cars .. And take your time hiring drivers.. There are more bad drivers than good ones ...but out of 100 bad drivers at least you should be able to find at least 10 good and dedicated ones , be hands on with the business and invest your money in other area .. The fact is if one of my business is slow ,uber business comes in handy ....transportation business is not easy at all , if companies like God is Good, above all transport , etc can be in a much tougher business terrain for years , ,I don't see why you can't manage uber business with 3 or fewer cars |

AngryIgboDon: Its only in Nigeria that foools will engage in fraud and come online to discuss it.
Inferiority complex coupled with poverty syndrome has really eaten deep into the brain cranial vortex of most drivers on this thread.
Thats the reason why someone will drive around Lagos like a mad man without a mission a life, make peanuts while passing through hell on Lagos roads and then come online to flaunt the peanuts he made as if he is one commando. O Yes... What you are making is peanuts.
Don't flare up yet. Go to LinkedIn and see what small boys you are far older than are achieving with their lives. You will see a small boy of 20 years taking home 10 million per annum as a software developer with Qiuckteller or Paystack and will not come online to post his earnings. You will only know his earnings from company website and tax forms.
But a driver that earns less than 10 dollars daily as net on bolt will not let people hear word.
Same mentally rettarded drivers will come online to discuss how they are outsmarting bolt to beat "The Hours". Same thing the morrons think they just discovered is a format veterans in this racket have used as far back as 2016 to survive and earn more. Yet... None came online to discuss it. But just imagine what kids now come online to do.
If Bolt should wake up tomorrow and say that the hours will now be "during active trips" and no longer "idle online" hours, same nematodes will start screaming "Slave Master Slave Master Slave Master".
Intead of learning and taking corrections, the really Belligerent and Bellicose ones among them will soon open their stinking pugnacious bucal cavity and vituperate a plethora of disgusting vocal vermins.
This was same way Hushpuppi was engaging in fraud and had the effonterry to flaunt it online.
O Ye Black Man... When will thou have sense? Yes call it peanuts, slave master thing etc software developer earning 10m naira per year ..... The point I want to make is that if the driver themselves are willing to sacrifice and work harder , they can be car owners from 1 car to as many as they can manage.. Or better yet they can become big entrepreneur with the business.. After all few years back we had a name ogunvick that was buying Peugeot cars and managing it for people. He had more than 10 cars ..But due to some factors he couldn't manage it well, that story alone na long story to explain.... So 10million naira per year and more could be made in this business if you really put in the work .. There is not much difference between luxury bus owners to Uber partners .. It is a transport business, just that 1 comes with higher risk and reward .. As a matter of fact a luxury bus owner will likely do well managing uber cars.... Now you might say that how can a driver afford his own car to be able to become a partner or make more than the guy that makes 10million per year .. My answer is you have to start somewhere.. Most successful people only get about 4hrs of sleep per day .. You have to put in the work and strike while the pot is hot.... |

Enyinne: Doing uber biz is stressful but manageable if u hv the right car, u must be available and willing to source ur parts and give to ur mechanic , not just any mechanic.Ladipo market will be ur second home as buying direct from there reduces ur cost. These may apply if u are running fleet of cars . 2. Good drivers can never be taking for granted but never trust them as they are all there with u to make ends meet. Ur eyes should be opened and never take any flimsy excuse from them or else ur weekly rental will be played with . 3 . Never be afraid to fire any driver with excess baggage of long story. Use uber market place to source for ur drivers . Nairaland drivers , hummm. Just stay clear of them 4. Never joke with maintenance and using good oils. Depending on the oil , u can change at 7000miles upwards, right timing helps to avoid clogs in engine 5 .insurance is optional. U can use axamansard insurance as they are the rave in my own time 7. Tracker is very essential and inspect car monthly to checkmate driver . And most importantly most drivers will give u wrong address , find out by tracking ur car consistently every night to know car location. The address seen the first 2-3weeks is the drivers home , pls jot its down should incase u need it. 8. Its not a bad business, its good depending on how available u are to take care of ur biz but I believe u will learn fast as soon as u start . 9. Sound car is very very importanter . Tokunbo most preferred. My number 1 customer long time ... you no dey buy oil from us again .......we get oil now

toomush: Exactly my brother, a driver told me one certain time that why they discourage other drivers from posting their dashboard is to make it look less lucrative for newbies, so they are discouraged to join(thereby increasing the number of drivers on the road, more competition) Very correct.. Some drivers will complain so much that you will be tempted to dash them car.... |

toomush: Best reply, those drivers would have probably moved onto better things, I dont know that some people are planning on driving for years. God forbid I do that to myself. I'm exiting soon Me for example I was able to diversify my investment into other things, and I couldn't do it without the help of uber experince.... Uber is not bad business, it is tough no doubt, but nothing good comes easy... And right from time I encourage drivers, partner etc . You need a passive income or something that brings in daily or weekly cash .. This is what ehailing does ,and also for any investors coming into the business.. Make sure you do ur findings. And for future investors reading this, don't go and buy 2007 up cars .. You will have your self to blame, monitor your investment and be hands on ... Dont just give your keys out like that without proper investigation of whom you giving out to ....This is a tough business be hands on and also Honda civic 03 to 05 is an ideal car for business. I can't help or safe everybody, every Aboki with his own kettle from now on ...... |

Gentlelife50 post earning of 28k to mislead the public. You want people to believe uber driving job is terrible, but you have been driving uber for more than 2 years 6months. You feed ur family with it, u pay house rent.
Nobody force anybody into uber, if u feel the job is bad quit and go use ur certificate to earn a living I don't see anything wrong with posting earnings at all .. As a matter of fact due to some drivers posting their earnings encourage me to not give up the business. The driverpreneur guy has been doing a wonderful job encouraging people.. We need people to come out and contribute in which ever they can..... I know I have contributed greatly, I was the one that encourage investors to try using Honda civic, it got to a point that people call the civic dru23 ....So people that want to post their earnings both low and high plz do ... |

AngryIgboDon: To get 100k on bolt even before Covid 20was not realisable. Even if realisable, the car will suffer and die quickly. The max right now from my analysis is between 50-80 k gross on average. Thats with extra suffering and serious hard work due to hellish traffic. Remember, I said gross and not net. If drivers are doing offlines, I can't really analyse it because I don't have access to that data.
But For anybody to post figures of 100k in a week, fuel of at least 20 to 25 Thousand is needed to gross that. (Putting in mind scarcity of riders that makes you drive around and look for trips)[/b]
That leaves 75000.
75,000 minus bolt 20% will leave the money at 60,000.
You pay car owner (if on rentals) 25,000. That leaves the money at 35,000.
You pay at least 5k on tolls. That leaves the money at 30k.
I don't want to add other expenses like data, calls, car wash, police harassment levy, lastma levy if caught, food etc. That one is personal. Because should a wicked Lastma or Police catch you, you may vomit money you made in 2 weeks to them.
Let me not even enumerate the danger such amount poses to car. Because for you to gross that amount means you don't reject trips and virtually go everywhere. Which is a very very dangerous thing to do in this business.
If you think this analysis is a lie, how many drivers have made it in life driving Uber Bolt? Why are most drivers on rentals always broke and can't get by? Even if you dash the car to the driver, some will always be broke....a lot of people live beyond their means and can't manage money......few years ago when the business was really booming with bonuses etc ..a lot of drivers were making money left and right ... I caution them to put money aside for slow days, some listen and others didnt.. And some drivers were smart enough to get their own car....... ehailing is a good business if you are discpline and smart.. The point is to make your money fast and move on to something else..... And to those that are still complaining about uber, most of you have your certificate, you can always dust it off and look for job you went to school for .. Enough with the complain, uber and co has provided jobs for so many youths old and young alike. This is something your government has failed you .. Take it up with the government.... Until than I encourage all of you to stop talking and complaining and to start doing.... |

Autos › Honda Civic Head Plug Seal by dru23(op): 4:25pm On Aug 29, 2020 |
To owners of Honda Civic 7th generation.. If you notice your Honda Civic is leaking tremodous amount of oil.. Please check the cylinder Head Plug seal .. With time it wears out and it will cause oil leakage.....
The best way to fix this problem is to get a new head plug seal .. If your mechanic tries to gum it back, it will eventually leak again.... It can cost not more $10.00 on eBay.. Very advisable to get brand new....
And replacing it is very easy ,you can do it yourself by watching a video of it on YouTube.... This is a mere 5 minutes job or 10 minutes max ...
