Dru23 give only this 4 documents to drivers, insurance, vehicle license, hackney, and roadworthiness.(photo copies)

Proof of ownership and vehicle allocation shouldn't be given (Not even copy)

Some drivers are king of interstate, na only when u catch them, they will come up with is my first time.

When they don't have the complete documents, they wont be able to take ur car to Asaba/Benin or Akure without the police stopping them.
Thanks bro.....send me your number via my email dru23@hotmail.com , I might need new drivers in the near future.....but for now all my drivers are doing ok with their 20k rental .... 1 of my driver is married with kids and family, he seems to have sense and I doubt he will drive out of Lagos without informing my team ... The other seems ok for now and all paying 20k naira rental ....So far no issues at all ...

Down time is a killer in this business.. With help of the new driver, the blue civic below was put in order as fast as 1,2,3 ... And other minor issues will be resolved when the car brings in delivering money .....So my team and I are on the ball .....

If uber decision doesn't pay me, i pull out my cars and sell.

My business is my car.

Finally case has been struck out, police are always unserious people.

I rather go through court process, than beg one stupid policeman to release my car.

Atimes, the urge to shalaye can make people miss vital points in informations that has been passed or written.

Please when engaging in hillbillies, try as much as you can not to misquote, misinterpret or misjudge me.

For the records, there was never a time I placed a curse on GuzzBuzz or RatMotorworks. For all I know by the way, GuzzBuzz and RatMotorworks can be great mechanics. What I remember saying back then is that it wouldn't make sense for a driver on rentals to be using premiums like GuzzBuzz or RatMotorworks and expect to achieve anything in a given year.

For instance, if a road side mechanic who is competent can change all your shocks at 3000, why use RatMotorworks to change all at 10k? Because I heard when she said she charges by time and one shock is 2500. Correct me if am wrong. This is constructive criticism and never a curse.

It would have been a curse if I say something like... "It will never be well with RatMotorworks for charging people 10k to change 4 shocks." I even heard that GuzzBuzz is a great engineer and I critique him sometimes too. But I never Cursed him destructively.

To buttress my point further, I can't remember even criticising those who were telling the young man that he is a slave master or a greedy fellow. My only problem was with the curser. To say it will never be well with someone for something that is his own and he didn't force anybody to take is a bit overboard for me. Lets be guided please.

Finally to all those who think I criticize RatMotorworks for Charging premium and using competent cheap kazeems, does it make sense to pay a Lekki Runs gal 55k for one night when you can go down to Ikeja and get a competent Ashawo for 5k or 10k for the night? You may even get a better servicing of your rod from the Ikeja Ashawo being an Old Fowl in the game.

For the fact a Lekki, Ikoyi, V.I, VGC runs girl operates from home, does not make her less of an Ashawo. All na still Ashawo. The difference is just packaging. Ashawo na still Ashawo. Nothing like Runs Girl.

The end game is to Service your rod properly. It doesn't matter if it was done by Ikotun road side Ashawo or an In-house Ikoyi Runs Girl. Capistche?
Apart from the name calling and cost etc .. I do understand your points to certain point.. But finding a good mechanic is a nightmare itself ,your kazeem mechanics are the worse of the worse, I don't care what nobody says.. The only way kazzem mechanics come in handy is for simple things you as a car owner can do ,but too lazy to do .... I will think twice before I let "kazzem" do the simplest things like change brakes ,coolant ,oil ..change ..

And when it comes to engine matter, have been pretty good with that byself , if any mechanic at all has to work on my engine , it will be minor things like change seal ,change sparkplugs, compressor fuel injector etc ....so in essence car owners should take the responsibility to try and do preventive maintainence on their own. Preventive maintenance can be as easy as reading owners manuals ,buying original parts, checking car fluid etc .. When you do this you can reduce frequent visits to mechanic......

Add On...... What we fail to understand is that most of this your road side /kazzem mechanics . About 90% of them are not using the correct tools for the Job .. One of my uber cars was given to a road side mechanic to replace balljoint or something with the "leg" of the car .. The driver almost got into a serious accident, we now found out that the mechanic didn't tighten the parts well. Either he was drunk ,didnt care or better yet didnt have the correct tools for the job..........

Radauto might be expensive for some ,but she has all the necessary tools and proper equipment to get the job done.... Does your road side mechanic have the machine to lift your car up to check the undercarriage of your car and properly drain oil and check for leaks? etc Everything isn't for everybody..

You just have to be selective when to use road side mechanic and when to use expensive shops with all the right tools and equipment.....

To all my Camry and Rav4 owners out there .. We have an A/c compressor directly from the USA .. It works for Camry/Rav4 2007 and 2009 V4 (4plugs) only .....

There is this crazy mentality that Nigeria mechanics will convert an a/c automatic compressor that came with the car , to a manual conversion. The manual conversion will now have to work the engine harder than before ..

And sometimes with their crazy wiring, your car will now at be risk of catching fire... So please and please follow owners manuals at all times .. If your car comes with automatic a/c compressor ,please don't replace with it manual ... Just because everyone does it ,does not make right......

Call for pricing for compressor or email me at dru23@hotmail.com ... keep in mind the compressor was imported by me.. You get value for your money....

That you don't like a vehicle doesn't make it bad, I used Hyundai creta daily in Lagos for over 2yrs, handed it over to my wife for over a year and vehicle still runs and drive properly, you don't have to condemn a vehicle because it's not made for America market or because you never used it.
I have nothing against the car ,but where the car was made or manufacture from ..Indian .. Cars made in India or destined for 3rd world country are usually not that good or hold the value in the long run .. So you have to becareful when buying cars like dat.

But if the car works well for you, than that is ok .....talking from experince, I do bring in USA spec Hyundai Elantra from 07 ..... I was informed that the ones brought in by Coscharis are made in India and carry 1.6liter engine, while the USA ones is 2.0liter ,the engine is built better and last longer ,. Tokunbo engine even cost more and valued more ... I have nothing against the car at all, but I won't buy either based on the explanation I gave and the resale value

Dru, yes i am owing the oil guy money for his oil and not for food. It is business and it is not what I should be ashamed of. I am not helpishere and I have never bought Mobil I from him. He was asked a question and he couldn’t answer the question. I have stopped commenting about oil on nairaland because whatever I say is not the final authority as the pockets of the owners of the cars and their mechanics determine the oil to use. Mobil xhp is not obsolete. As API Sl, it was still good and a lot of dealerships uses 20w50 on modern cars and it is always on the list of recommended oils. I know of someone who is silently selling his Royal purple engine oil and he is not making a single noise, and you know that royal purple is higher in all indices than castrol and Mobil. Are all your Uber taxis US specs? Yesterday I bought Mobil 1 0w40 USA spec , except for Gazzuzz that sells varieties, you guys sell your spec. There are many Toyotas that recommends 20w50 even the recent ones . When you talk about US specs, which of the US specs that are still using regular unleaded fuel? I have been in contact with a Mobil executive here in Nigeria and the information about your source of the USA oil is what I will not talk about here. I used to use syngard and now I’m using Addinol. The Germans came to my workshop to introduce their oil to me. Have you seen me talk about it on the forum? I advise a lot of people to use Total ATF mvlv. Do you think Total is paying me? If your oil is good, sell it and do your business. Mobil recommends annual protection oil and the Toyota and Nissan spec for Toyota. Even the 0w40 for Benz is not extended performance, so why are you guys harping on the extended performance as the best thing on earth after Agege bread?
Well if you say helpishere and you are not the same .. The court of public opinion on nairaland can be the Judge of that... let's get down to business....

20w50 is not good for modern cars , I will keep saying time and time again.. Which modern cars uses 20w50 oil in their engine (apart from cars made in 3rd world countries) .. Pick a modern car engine and owners manual for us to see ...

You mention a lot of dealership uses 20w50 etc .. Just because they use it does not make it correct .. This dealership are cutting corners and they are aware that the average Nigerians are not educated enough to know the right thing to use .. The cost of Mobil xhp is 5k naira compare it to the cost of using the correct oil of 12k naira ...why wouldn't dealership cut corners and use the cheap oil ...

Most knowledgeable car dealer on nairaland that know better will service the car they want to sell with 20w50. This is a well know practice among car dealers whether big or small.. Most know better that using 20w50 is not the rite oil to use .. They want to cut cost and at the sametime the customers are not educated enough to read the owners manual of the car .. So they basically go with the crowd..

I have a client in Warri that I supply imported oil to .. The client stated 20w50 sells faster than the imported oil .. It is cheaper and car owners don't care .. The client was forced to add 20w50 to their stock .. The imported oil are for clients that know what they want .. 20w50 is a very cheap oil , nigerians want cheap things, pennywise and pound foolish mentality .....This is why engine parts is a booming business in Lagos.....

WHY THE OBSESSION WITH 20W50 ENGINE OIL?
Posted by Auto Surgeons on Mar 21, 2017

Virtually every mechanic recommends the use of 20w50.

20W-50 engine oil is no good for modern engines, regardless of the mileage. It is too thick, and flow to sensitive areas like multivalve cylinders, VVT / VANOS and any other timing adjusters that rely on instant oil pressure will be impeded.
Sludge.
Damaged timing chain tensioners.
Seized timing adjusters / variators.
Poor gas mileage.
Excessive engine wear.
Premature oil pump failure.
Premature turbo bearing failure.
Clogged PCV systems.
These are just some of the results of using 20W-50 engine oil in a modern engine, which has the viscosity of honey or tar.

Some are citing Nigeria's climate as a reason to run 20W-50 in a 2015 Toyota Camry. Rubbish! World climates are taken into account when engines are designed. What is so special about Nigeria? Texas, Arizona, Nevada are hotter than Nigeria will ever be, so is Dubai and tons of other countries. Run the correct oil for your engine, and stop assuming your Kazeem knows better than the engine manufacturers.

My old Audi S2 I sold with 543,000 miles on the odometer. When it was new and zero miles, the specified engine oil was 5W-30 or 10W-40. At 543,000 miles, the oil spec remained the same, I still used 5W-30.

Those saying their engines "knocked" after using the correct oil, that's nonsense. An engine that is on its last legs, with so much play in the crank main bearings, conrod bearings will run on any old rubbish.

Some unscrupulous dealers and mechanics will actually melt thick grease and fill the engine with the resultant heavy oil, to quieten a rattling and knocking engine, just to sell the car to an unsuspecting buyer. Of course this engine is dead, the moment you drain and replace the oil, it's the end. The destruction is nothing to do with using the correct engine, this was an engine that was already sounding like a bulldozer's diesel engine, that had the symptoms of crank and conrod Bering failure masked by introducing a thicker oil, which would eventually destroy even a healthy engine.

The average Nigerian prefers to accept 20W-50 oil as good for their engines, though deep down, some are aware it's wrong. It's easier to accept the cheaper rubbish than to shell out good money for the correct synthetic oil. These users are also inherently lazy, and couldn't really be bothered to search for the right oil, or import it if they can't find it locally or nationally.

You're wrong. My Toyota Previa lists 20W50 as a oil that can be used especially in temperate climate
Toyota previa is no longer made for the USA market anymore.. And am sure the previa you have is old at least 17 years old ..... You can't compare engine oil technology of 17 years ago to now ... but either let us know the year of your previa ...
