From been Uber agent, to illegitimate earnings.

Don't allow frustration to affect your beliefs.

Some drivers here are completely frustrated, they feel they should be somewhere better, yet they are still with Uber.

Meanwhile fresh week challenge just kick started.

Let's make it happen.
Still waiting for your email bro.. I got an offer for you that you can't refuse.. ..you never know what opportunities lies in front of you.. Don't let it pass you... True story

I think have been pretty fair enough and transparent enough . I mean I had big issues with Romeo3 ,didn't people know about it . I lost more money with Romeo3, than any other driver I ever had .. Didn't I come to the forum to talk about it .. So if I can do that what makes u think I can't do it to the next guy ..keep in mind Romeo3 also worked for you too .. He worked for me before he worked for you and also after too ...True story..

Bro I don't know what your long term plan is with this ehailing but like you said you've lost millions already(like most patners). Does it not make more sense and less stressful to just sell off those cars for a profit once they land. Considering how much you buy them.
Well, my long term plan or goal , well I mean this in the most respectful way . A good business man will not reveal is plan out in the open. But one thing I will tell you, is that I will continue doing uber till I can do it .. And I don't plan to do more than 5 cars on uber .. That has always been part of my goal .. In any business there is nothing sweet as daily cash flow, which uber has provider, now what I do with the cash flow from uber is another story on its own.... Car business is a headache for me . It ties down money and at times the profit margin is peanuts for me .. But I still do it ....

If someone like gazzuzz, who is a mechanic and only spend half of what most of us spend on car maintenance, could join the fence then people need to tell themselves some hard truth.
This business is not for everyone.. Look at me now ,uber has been in the Nigerian market for 4years if am correct ,and have been in the business for about three years.. My point is am not too far behind when uber started. But through ups and down. Am still here ,I change my strategy and adjust my business plan to fit the correct situation.. Do u know I had to change mechanics and drivers, do you know I had to sell off all my cars and started all over again? Do you know I went from about 8 cars to about 5 now.. Were u aware that people were saying the Mobil 1 oil couldn't move market or sell faster enough? But now I can't even keep up with demand at times.. And am still doing uber till now, when others join the so call fence.. What I did is I level up ,change my mind set .. This is coming from a guy that is not even in Nigeria.. Tell me do I have two heads? Just because a person fails at something does not mean the next person will fail .. And to keep it 100% your Gazzuz guy one of his old driver drives for me .. He is one of the best driver I have, very cocky but he delivers.. Nothing in life is easy bro ...you just have to follow your path... and keep focus.. Am glad I didn't listern to anybody, when I first started..

Best of all boss... My point have always been, things cant b rosy always, they will always be high & low period. But some one coming to paint a straight 5 months without a day break, is a no no for me
Business is a learning curve .. He will learn as he grows and make adjustments to fit his goals.. U can recall when people were jumping fence ,you can recall when I screaming up and down elantra this and that .. You can recall that I was not a fan of corolla for uber.. You can recall when I was advocating for good oil and proper maintenance.. You can recall when people were saying the my Mobil 1 engine oil will not sell fast enough like others that were selling before me So look at me now, am still doing uber and my engine oil at times I can't keep with demand.. My point is I made adjustment when needed, uber change their directions with year model of their cars from strictly 07 upwards to 03 starting upward . I change my business models to fit the currant uber model so that I can profit .. My point is as things get harder in personal life or business life ,you will learn to adjust

By the time he starts a family, things will be easy for him .. Again if he continues like this by the time he marries ,he would have either had his own fleet of cars or other business.. But the point is you have to start early and young.. Ask Dangota ,Bill Gates, Odetola and co ... the earlier you start, the more time you will have to correct mistake.. Boss I expected more from you than using Nipsey as a yardstick... Regina must be a very hard working girl, but let me put that aside. If I can remember, there was no time your drivers are not doing good, until the day you complained of bad management, maybe you never get to see that coming.
My dear brother, ever since I got rid of my old manager and started managing the cars myself it has been good o .. I even have a female driver ,that nobody wanted to take a chance with..
Now do I challenges at times? Of coz just like any other business, but overall am doing much better than before bro. The point here is good drivers and good cars and good owners.. If you can mash those things up and a little bit of hard work.. The sky is the limit..
And keep in mind when everybody was jumping ships, complaining ,uber this and that joining the fence, uber is not designed for rental etc.. Am still here bro still doing it .. Correct me if am wrong .uber has been in nigeria for 4 years now? But me have been in the business for about three years now .. On business at times, you need to change your strategy and adapt to the business currant environment.. So many changes with uber up and down.. I change too ,I took better car of my cars, look for good mechanic and drivers.. I had to start from the bottom all over again.. When I say from the bottom, I sold all my uber cars that were under bad manager.. Bad oil completely destroy all my fleet.. I basically started with tokunbo cars all over. Lost millions of naira etc.. But look at me am still here .. Like 2chain said, " if you start from the bottom, you can see the top " it is not easy ,coz if it was easy everybody will be doing it . This is not a race for me ,but a Marathon.. TMC ... The Marathon Continues .........

You quoted the WRONG person (he definitely knows more than you do about the business) with the WRONG answer YES. You can't compare what the earning was when Uber started and what it is now. If you were doing Uber then with your positive attitude, you would own at least 2 cars by now.
When people share experience here it can at times come across as negative but it is for everyone to learn.
Lastly, no one is saying you shouldn't work but don't overwork yourself...Fatigue is a crazy karma.
I wish you the best in the ehailing world!

I think from your submission it clearly shows that you are a staff of Uber or an aggrieved car owner on this thread seeking to prove to drivers that huge earnings and 35k weekly remmitance is still possible in this time despite drop in earnings . Same week you started ehailing was the same week you netted 100k! How come you are still on 35k up till now if truly you are a driver. Can we pls see weekly earning from when you started till now. Just be informed that display of dashboard will not change the perception of drivers about Uber being slavery.

Nigeria have not done anything to me, I'm just 22 and I believe I need to work to be useful to myself.

Since January, I have been earning minimum of 20k weekly (net) after paying my 35k rent. why will I be complaining. I just need to be grateful to my God.

I have been working with construction company doing roads in Lagos, as a labourer earning 2500 a day gross.

and here I have a car with ac to drive and go home with such an amount. I'm happy for myself.
Anytime you need a tokunbo car .. Hit me up and better yet because of your positive attitude, if you wrk for me I will give you better rental delivery offer ..keep up the good work.. Never let the haters take you down...

As much as I don't want to doubt ur story.
It's a fact that if u change from mineral to synthetic oil the chances of having oil leaks is very high. 2 out of 5 cars will have a smoking engine after the switch... this is because most synthetic oils contains detergents that will wash off deposits that had been acting as sealant in the the engine. Xw30 grade synthetic oils is a bad choice for our climate. The oil will thin out at high temperatures, our concern here should be on the behaviour of the oils at high temperatures and not freezing temperature.
The higher the number the better.
Also bear in mind that some engines are designed to burn oil(yes u heard right)...when u use oils that thins out at high temperatures the engine will burn off most of the oil before ur service due date and you will have oil shortages which will eventually result to a knock. This is one of the reasons why most people engine will knock.
They will pour in synthetic oils and believe that it will serve their engines for 6,8,or 12 months not knowing that the engines burns the oil gradually till it will get to dangerous low levels where the engine will eventually knock.
Please read the link below... now I don't know the types of oil you are using o .. But I know for fact that most engine oil in the Nigerian market are either fake or expired. Are u aware that engine oil has a shelf life span of 5 years? And am very much a are most Nigerians can't afford good engine oil.. And they settle for whatever they see. At long run it now becomes penny wise and pound foolish.. If you are switching from mineral oil to synthetic oil and u are using the correct oil ,they should not be any issue or leak .. Unless that particular engine of the car is known for oil leak . Yes I do agree that some cars are known for oil leak .. And the manufacturer is aware of it.. Usually this leak is a defect of the engine from the manufacture.. And also it is also possible for some cars to leak oil ,but it shouldn't be a great or a lot of leak.. Thank you for your time, as a man that has some experience in cars ,I will continue using full synthetic oil .. And if I have to switch back and fourth, I will do so ..as long as I use the good oil in the market... keep in mind too brand new cars coming out now use full synthetic rite from the manufacture warehouse.. Thanks for your time and I will drop the topic now ..

I tot u will even say u will start buying new cars, tokunbo cars are second hand vehicles.
You don't know what the cars have been through forget that Vin report u believe so much in. Most of the reports are not comprehensive enough or doctored to place more value on the second vehicles.
If you don't know most people in Europe and America where you get ur tokunbo cars from don't know much about vehicles, maintenance or how it works.
Go to YouTube, you will see videos of white people trying to pour in diesel in a petrol car, or petrol in a diesel.
I saw one where a white lady took her electric car to refuel in a gas station.

The truth most people won't tell you is that in grading engine oils winter climates are considered first before tropical regions.
Let me also let u know that the bigger challenge we have here is bad fuel....there is no where in Nigeria that you can get 100% unadulterated petrol. Maybe u will also import ur petrol.
Bad fuel is a vehicles no 1 enemy, its worse than bad oil.
Whatever you think you are doing right you will eventually need another car tomorrow. So why spend a fortune on a vehicle that u will eventually replace?
Personally I have never had any issues importing cars from Yankee.. The cars that I do buy are from private owners and some are from auction.. But at the same time it is not like I import 50 cars a year.. And also the issues that I do have at times with the cars is rust.. The states that I buy from tend to get a lot of snow.. But overall have had more good cars than bad ones..
From my experience bad oil and use of water instead of coolant is the number one killers of cars on Nigeria.. Let me break it down for u .. I started investing in uber when uber was still fresh in Nigeria.. I had cars been managed for me . And every time the car is always having issues, sludge, engine smoke etc .. It got so bad that I had to remove sludge from all my cars.. So I ask the manager what is going on ,he said engine not strong, your cars are not built like Toyota etc .. So I Google what causes sludge in cars.. So now I ask the manager what oil does he use for my cars.. He said Total oil 5k naira ...but what grade do you use.. He says total and total is good oil.. But I said the car requires 5w30, but he said total is ok.. I shook my head.. And I now went into more research about engine oil .. The benefits of synthetic oil and mineral oil .. Types of oil etc when to change oil .. Did research on Mobil 1 oil and castrol oil etc. So I than started with castrol till I was able to settle with Mobil 1oil . So I personally use them and sell them.. I notice that mostly Nigerian do have the same attitude towards car maintenance, between mechanic and car owners I can't tell which ones are worse or ignorant.. A lot of them fail to educate themselves.. Mind you I can't even change tire at or do my own oil change.. But I notice a problem that was causing me to lose money and I look for answers.. All these oil stuff are just basic things that people should know about, but sadly people don't bother . Ever since I started using the correct oil, my cars are doing better..
My experience is that lack of good engine oil is the number one reason or one of the reason of car issues with cars in Nigeria.. They are others reasons too ,but trust me wrong engine oil will be top 5 .. ..
Ps. I had to replace 80% of my cars on uber due to wrong engine oil .. And started all over ( true story).

OK, I like it that u want us to discuss like humans.
The primary purpose of oil is to lubricate moving parts in an engine. All over the world, the advantage(s) of synthetic oil over mineral oil is a subject of debate.
1) sludge: Sludge is not entirely a bad thing.
Sludge will hold a weak seal together for the life span of ur engine. synthetic oils will clean out the deposits that may be holding a weak seal together. This will lead to an engine oil leak that will cause myriad of problems and cost you a lot of money to fix as well.

2.Economy: It is not proven that synthetic oil will give u a better millage than mineral oil, even if this is true the amount u spend on synthetic will cancel whatever gain u make on gas millage.

3. Wear: both mineral and synthetic oils have been proven to decrease wear. Though from test results carried out by some oil companies it was proven that both mineral oil and synthetic oil will decrease wear.
Wear will eventually come cos nothing lasts forever.

Let me stop here for now.

The manufacture recommended 5w20 for that car .. You dey use 20w50. So I guess u know a lot better than than manufacture.. Smh ...#get the strap# if a knowledgeable buyer hears that, the person will never buy that car .. I wish I believe u .. So that civic is still running strong... people like you are the ones that wrecked my uber cars .. Due to the use of wrong engine oil .. People like you are the reasons that I started importing oil ... so basically it means that you will still use 20w50 on a 2018 brand new civic.. Smh ... thank God I have the means to bring in tokunbo cars .. Personally I will never, never ,ever buy naija used cars ..due to the maintenence culture of people like you and Nigerians as whole .. I always advice people when it comes to oil always follow the manufacture advice.
Example below is the ATF for a 2013 Hyundai Genesis for a client of mine. He could have use any ATF ,but he follows the manufacture advice to use the correct fluid.. Those transmission of those cars cost a fortune.. People try and read your owners manual.. It will save you cost and headache in the long run
