aaronson:Thanks |
Rubbiish:Omo it is not easy .. Before I was able to balance myself. I had to go through hell and I earn my strips. If you want to start, my advice is start with a small engine type car.. I will recommend Honda civic 04 to 05 .. Reason why I recommend them ,I have them on my fleet. And they are very strong and good on fuel .. And also they are appropriate for the e hailing climate.. If the e hailing improves and earning increases for both owner and driver, I wil than suggest cars from 07 upwards.. |
aaronson:Well my drivers default rate are pretty low .. I do have one driver that default every now and than .. The excuse is that the car is giving him issues, which am about to sell and give him the tokunbo.. And also the driver seems to have personal or family issues that has affects is delivery .. But am working on that now. So that they won't be any more excuse.. And the rest of the drivers are pretty ok .. Keep in mind I reduce my fleet of cars from about 8 to about 5 to be able to manage the business |
Seun360:Thanks o .. The cars are doing great from the civic to the elantra. They are doing great.. When you manage your own things urself the difference is always there.. No more bleaching manager stealing from me, better mechanic and manageable drivers is what I have now.... Sh * t is not perfect, but it is 100% better than before... thanks for asking |

Steve97:I have never driven or used civic from 06 to 07 or accord of any year. So it will be very hard for me to give any analysis on those cars. .. But civic from 03 to 05 I can give then thumbs up ..due to the fact that I have them on my uber fleet .. |
Rubbiish:They are out there .. I have one for now ..hoping to get another one soon |
Gentlelife50:Thank you my brother .. Just dey busy small with work .. |
Chuwaa:Maybe u misread what I wrote or I didn't make myself clear . I never join the fence at all .. I stated that when others were joining the fence ,I continue with the business till now and I still have a handful of cars on uber. Now to the issue of civic or elantra.. Since you are not in business of buying tokunbo cars .. I will enlightened, ignorance is not an excuse.. Now on to the matter, elantra are getting very expensive, the cost of elantra are all almost competing with corolla .. All my cars on uber are tokunbo to start with and also I have my landing cost to deal with.. I can't have my landing cost to be the same as my selling cost .. I don't need to tell you what my landing cost is ..whatever it is at the start of uber in Nigeria it was very attractive until people starting focusing on the elantra ... Now with the civic, I can get my civic cheaper than most people I know.. Civic from 04 to 05 especially. And from experience the 04 to 05 are easy to maintain and very rugged .but the only slightly issue is that they are very low to ground compare to the elantra.. As we speak now I will be landing an 04 civic for sale before the end of the month.. Conclusion : I will still vouch for elantra any day or anytime.. If I can get an 07 elantra landing cost as my civic. I will for sure buy it without a doubt.. It will be likely to use as uber or sale .. It will be better off to sell .... Now if uber decides to increase their fares and make the business more attractive like it was at the beginning.. Trust me I will certainly buy elantra for sure. And for now I would not encourage anybody to use a corolla for uber .. I will tell them to use a much cheaper car .. It will be better to sale the corolla... for now anybody spending more than 1.3m either tokunbo or used cars for uber .. Will need to have their heads examine Ps. I don't need to collect any form from anybody, I am my own man and I lead myself.. If you want to collect form up and down be my guest .. U little punk |
olumzzz:O boy the business is not easy at all.. Have been doing mine for two years plus, when people were joining the other fence up and Dwn, I still hang in there till now .. That been said, I wouldn't recommend big daddy for uber.. Try selling the big daddy and buy a tokunbo civic 04 to 05 .. That way you reduce your risk factor.. If the driver messes up and u can't no longer handle the business.. U can easily sell the civic and at least u still have money left over from the big daddy sells |
erico2k2:I tell people all the time to follow the manufacture advice all the time.. If the manual says 5w30 in all weather, why use 5w20 or anything else... this is one of the reason I stay away from naija use cars ... |
sheelay:This car will be sold in less than two weeks.. Great color .. With the xc90 the color really matters a lot. Color blue brings out the car and it makes the car standout.. People will do a double take when looking at the car |
ValarinzAutos:Nice ride and color... it should sell within weeks or less |

radautoworks:Not really at all o .. Keep in mind I still do uber and currently I have three cars on the platform.. Hoping to add 2more. But my point is that I have been keeping up with the basic maintenance of the car .. Doing so I avoid going to the mechanic.. And apart from that car, my cars that I have are strong and easy cars to fix . The parts are greatly available and accessible.. So three things got working for me. 1. Starting with the most common maintenence, good oil, coolant etc. The wear and tear of the car or mechanical issues are out of my control. 2. Types of cars I use : I have three Honda civic, from 03 to 05 and one elantra 08.. The civics are excellent choice for me ,rugged parts are easy and maintenance is low .. My mechanic is very good with those cars.... Planning to sell the 03 civic.. The car has tried for me. 3. Most importantly, mechanic : my currant mechanic is from Togo . Very hard working person, people from Togo are known to be hard working.. He is a bit expensive, but once he fixes my car I rarely go back again to fix the same issue.. So the money I pay him is worth .. He is very on point |
radautoworks:Na you use your mouth talk am o ... |
dicksonadams:Well the key word is maintenance..... When was the last time u see me asking mechanics on the forum about car issues that am having.. Think about it .. If people have not learn to do just basic maintenance and use the correct parts or products for their cars. I dont know when they will learn. Think about it |
herrlekan:Just playing devil's advocate here .. With all tips we learn on the forum. If by now ,people are still coming on the forum and asking about the type of oil ,coolant maintenance questions about their vehicles.. Maybe that person does not need to own a car.. Their are certain things a car owner should know ,without asking for a mechanic input at all ... Especially at these time and age that all the information is at your finger tips.. |
radautoworks:Just curious how much do you guys pay your mechanics ? Do you guys do 401k , health insurance, paid time leave etc .. I have a family friend looking for a job |
herrlekan:Lol ... so you need a qualified mechanic to tell you oil grade etc . Or better yet you need a qualified mechanic to teach you how to read owners manual.. Lol ![]() |
Bigsteveg:Since you didnt specify v4 or 6cyclinder .. So my guess is its a v4.. And I have the 5w20 oil for it 5quarts . That is all you need just 5quarts. And you also need a good full synthetic oil filter. Unfortunately I don't have for Toyota camry... with Mobil extended performance oil and a good oil filter. You should be good for a good six months, if you are not using for uber . https://www.nairaland.com/5055276/contact-number-all-mobil-1

valarinz:It is the truth.. The xc90 could have a better interior but apart from that it is a good alternative to Toyota suv .. As I dey now whenever am ready to buy SUV for personal use. I will buy xc90 2008 to 2012 models... anything higher than 2012 my power no reach for clearing cost... xc90 not a bad choice at all and even the V8 xc90 is not bad at all .. I wouldn't mind buy the V8. Some of the v8 I saw looks very sporty .... |
BlackMeech:I always been selling cars bro ...not everything I go advertise on nairaland... yes this is my first volvo , it was more by accident that I came across it .. I saw it at a good deal from a private owner ..clean title etc .. And also it is knwn for safety and a better alternative to Toyota suv like highlander and likes of it ... |
obitryce:Yes the xc90 not bad at all ...it is a pretty good alternative to Toyota suv ... |
I want to give a big shout out for the overwhelming call this week ... especially to those that were highly interested in the volvo xc90.. .. To better serve you the car is ready to go ,oil change done, ac charged up and fairly used battery that was bought in the USA etc .. The car is ready for a new owner.. Over 32knaira worth of oil change has been done.. That is a big saving for you.. The asking price is still 2.2m Naira / slightly negotiable.. Keep in mind clear title and mostly high way milage.. Keep the calls coming.... No need wasting money doing oil change.. We did that for you. Nothing to fix at all ..just buy and drive... First come, First serve ... PS.. This is the first car I ever bought, that I didn't need to fix anything at all .. I spend money just doing oil change and oil filter.. And charging the A/C ... this is the real deal Holyfield. And the last picture below is a refurbished battery that was bought in USA at Advanced Auto parts .. That battery will last you another two years guarantee
