Bro ... the civic are doing great bro ...I know this is off topic.. I had a 03 camry that was finally packed up ,due to bad oil ,wrong oil no coolant at all .... So we now gave the 03 civic to the camry driver... the driver didn't want it at all .. He said camry is stronger and he is not sure of the civic.. He was very hesitant to drive the civic... but after two weeks driving the civic he fell in love with the car .. He loves the car so much.. The car does not give him much issues at all ..mind you the car is clean body wise, the engine is ok abuse a bit with wrong oil ... am just waiting for the car to pack up due to engine abuse and no coolant... so I will either sell it before it packs up or just ride out the car till the wheels fall off ...than after that I will make arrangements to get him a fresh tokunbo 05 civic.. The only demand the driver wants from us is to change the tires and rims to 15inches .. Coz of the low clearance of the civic...
The years of all my civic is 03 to 05. I was told that 06 upwards are not strong enough for uber...

From what I understand from your post.. You said cheap oil or expensive oil does not determine the performance of a car .. I said it does o . Do we have other factors yes we do .. But for sure cheap oil will definitely affect the negative performance of your car. Good oil or expensive oil will prolong your engine...

A cars performance depends on thousands of factors.
So don't think cheap or expensive oil will have an effect on other Aspects of the vehicle.

My brother cheap oil will do damage to your car ...go and try it on a G wagon Benz or newer advance models cars .. Please let us be honest with ourselves... I am not saying that Mobil oil is the best oil o , or you have to use it .. But use something that at least it is up there with the best of the best .. Do you think I will use Mobil oil extended performance on a $250k car ..hello no bro I will use something better than that now ....unless the car manufacture recommends it .. Honest truth I will use Royal Purple oil ..

So Almighty Dru also use 5k engine oil to service his Uber fleets.

Wow.

That period my cars was not under my full control.. This is when I had a bad stealing no good fleet manager .. During that period all my cars were having problems . If you can recall I posted sludge issues that I had. And I had to find out why my cars were having sludge issues ..
Than I now switched to Mobil 1 USA .. Some cars were able to survive the abuse, and some didn't. The civic was able to survive it for now ,now would I feel comfortable driving the civic outside Lagos? " HELL NO" .. The civic is likely on its last leg,due to cheap oil and not following the manufacture advice. But my newer civics are now extended performance oil ,just waiting for coolants to arrive

Well how come one of your best mechanic one nairaland does not use it or recommend it.. But he imports the USA brand them to sell... for me especially with over 1m naira sales... I think the car Enthusiast prefer the American brand better... I don't need to say more bro .. Look below.. I didn't see Mobil XHP... on this lovely Benz... Mobil American brand oil are specifically designed to meet the American brand cars ... and for fact most of the Nigerian cars are give or take mostly 60% American Spec.
Now are you aware that some cars like some model year Benz and some other German cars.. Mobil 1 does not meet the cars Manufacturer quality.. Please see below...
People, oil pass oil o .. Even the almighty Mobil oil 1 does not meet certain specifications of some cars manufacturer, it will recommend what is close to it ..but will it damage the engine of the car.. I don't really know... but me personally if I spent millions of naira on a particular brand of car.. I will make sure that I follow the manufacturer's advice.. Plain and simple

Cutting cost on car have serious implications like the one we are all discussing here.

Don't mind them my brother.. Let them use any oil they want .. I was lucky enough to come across this lovely C 240 .. Before buying it. I research it on nairaland the cons of C240. People were mostly saying it is expensive to maintain.. Spoke to the owner, he said just use the Mobil 1 oil 5w30 or 0w40 .. If you look at the tip hood of the car ,you will see the Mobil 1 sign ..still Nigerians will ignore it and use something else . And complain that the car is not good .. At least if you going to use something different, u either use the same quality as Mobil or use something better like Royal Purple... but if you tell them ,they will think is because you sell that product..
My 03 civic on Uber, has been using the 5k Naira oil now ..the car seems to be going strong for now ..but in the back of my head I know the car will soon pack up ..due to low quality oil. By the time it packs up I go sell am .. My other civic now will be using extended performance and Fram oil filter.. Quality oil prolongs the life of the engine and coolant too .. Funny enough it was even me that help bring the importance of coolant .
