Sadly, this mistake could fry someone's transmission. Seyi42k will think his Mechanic must have done something wrong, not knowing he bought a wrong fluid.

Funny enough, I made similar statement about two years ago.. This is when I was preaching the essential of good engine oil.. I mentioned that good transmission fluid is very important.. People didn't pay me no attention at all ... .
At that time people were saying elantra is a very good car for uber... but their transmission don't last at all ..I said to myself that is because people are using either fake fluid or wrong fluid.. Chances wrong fluid than fake... As we speak now, I have order transmission fluid for my elantra cars on uber .. Once it arrives I will post them and go into details...
All these things I learned from nairaland... I Google them and do my findings.. If my uber cars are having issues or I keep spending money.. I want to get to the bottom of things and find out why this is not working.. I just want to know why things keep breaking down... Well that is it for me

She can't admit that she is wrong.. She has this mentality that she plans to over take the mechanic industry... she has that aggressive mentality ...I just don't get at times ..but I will not knock her hustle at all ....
As a matter of fact I took my car to her about few weeks.. The service was good, just like in the states.. You get a print out copy of your problems... so it is ok ..it might be expensive to a few people.. But you can find your way around... I will break down the list of things that needed to be fix in my car.. And post it on forum.. Am just waiting for it to be delivered so that I can post it ...

The funny thing with me ..when buying transmission fluid, I just go to eBay... I type in for an example " elantra transmission fluid". It will now brings out what is compatible with my car ..from there I than Google it to confirm it ...it has never fail me at all ...am just surprised at times

For future reference, I also sell Mobil oil extended performance . If you can easily bring in your own oil , that is fine too .but make sure you buy enough to last you a year or so ..

Good job ...most of the oil in naija are fake... most people don't realise that the American engine oil is tailored to American spec cars... please use genuine oil filter, there is no point buying expensive oil ,and than buy 500naira oil filter ...you can always ask on the forum for sellers of oil filter..... Not to be an enemy of progress, I will recommend carquest.......

If they oil cap says, 5w30 than it is ok.. But make sure u use good oil filter.. Castrol USA spec is very good oil ..job well done, very good oil indeed ..

Ok no problem better that way... the only reason I said that ..Is that quite often people will ask in the from. Oga I have 07 camry, what type of oil do I need for my car... and I think to myself can't you just Google it ? And few times we put up a link that can help you identify the weight of oil you need like going to mobiloil.com ..

And also I like to commend you, for your calm response to my criticism.. It seems I was a bit harsh , but I meant no harm in any way

The 2007 camry should use TIV for the i4, and ws for the v6.

I dont think the dex III will be compatible with that transmission. He should confirm from his manual
