Shut up and stop with the useless advice. A lot of things can make an engine consume oil. Not just damage... Stop giving useless advice on this forum anymore.

Engine is still very sharp, quiet and doesn't smoke
Omo that is a tough call ...if your engine is drying up oil something is definitely wrong somewhere ..my elantra engine was very sharp and running.. It was just drying up oil.. It got to a point the my driver was topping oil almost every other week... using thicker oil is putting a band-aid over the wound.. Better take it to a reliable mechanic....

My guess is better to get another engine.. It is just a matter time before this engine packs up ..And you don't want to be driving on a journey at nite ..And than the engine packs up ..safety first

Thanks but 5w30 is drying up, that's why I want to change to a thicker oil
Sorry I can't help u on that case... I had a similar experience. My 07 elantra was shorten oil . The previous oil before that was the local oil of the 5k ..basically the engine was abused... at the time my driver was topping oil every other week ..there was no sign of any leak and eventually the oil kept drying up
So finally I had 'ring' the engine, it cost me over 150k pictures below ...so if I was to guess the engine of your car needs either "ringing" or new engine.. Using thicker oil will not solve the problem it is a short term fix.. You might need to replace the engine eventually..

Why did you stop selling Fram? I saw it in one of your previous post?
I did not stop selling fram ..I tried it out first on my uber cars, especially my elantra.. Just for a test run.. I liked it and didn't have any issues.. So than I brought in a few for my uber partners that drive corolla... I sold out and it seems people like it .. I gave an opportunity for people to complain about the product.. Nobody complained at all .... So my nxt shipment I will bring more fram oil filters mainly for corolla, matrix, vibe etc..
The profit margin on oil filters is not that much at all ..but there is no point selling good oil without good oil filter... so this is were carquest comes in ...if they can't get from me there is another option which is carquest.. So it's a win win situation.. Customers are happy, am happy... this is what customer service is all about..
But oga carquest think say she derail my thread.. But thanks she has contributed to my over 1k views on the coolant thread. .. And thanks to your comment, am working on having a number on the forum for anyone that wants to buy oil.

Deedee44 what dru23 is saying is please buy Mobil oil from him. It's kind of his thing to troll Nairaland trying to get people to buy mobile oil from him. Maybe if you do he'll settle down for a week or so. So, can you be Nairaland's hero and buy some oil from Dru whether or not it's the right weight for your car? grin
Funny babe ..... You are so spicy.. Am sure your stuff go sweet well well....
People can always go to Mobiloil.com to find the right weight for their car ....

Well, i previously stated that it will be cost effective for me to procure the concentrate from radautoworks and mix with distilled water since i know the procedure to get this. Mixing isn't rocket science and i wouldn't have considered this method if the concentrate isn't available. So it isn't a big deal.
Sure bro... .. At least you have options. ..if check my price and if it makes sense you buy ..and if not you go else were ..customers loyalty is Base on affordability and price ....

Baby girl ...we have different market and audience.. My job here is for people to be smart with their money.. Certain things that you sell are expensive, at the same time certain things I sell are cheaper than yours.. If I don't have an item ,I point them to your direction.. The smarts one will shop smart, for example my car was brought to your workshop.. Carquest mechanic drove the car, scan it ..and printed out a bill of 175k
I look at the stuff, I said you know what I can buy most of these items on eBay spark plugs ,shocks, linkage, etc my total cost $300.00 ..which am about to ship soon ...my point is to help people save money.. So it is win win situation for everybody. But what you don't understand by you derailing my thread you are bringing more traffic to my thread.. So far my coolant thread has over 900 views .... Partly thanks to you

If you use the wrong one or mix two that aren't supposed to be used together, yes.
To mix coolant or not to mix coolant ...To be on the safe side ,I will empty out or flush out old coolant.. Regardless if the old coolant matches with the fresh one .

ROFL! When you know, you know. Lack of knowledge is sad.
Bottom line, better to buy the premix.... Nobody has the time to be mixing up and down... this is what I will do ... I have a hard time drinking Nigerian bottle water, or table water has they call it ... even if they sell distilled water in Nigeria, I would not use for any mix of coolant... if the young man wants to be a science student and make is own distilled water... he should go ahead and do it ...me personally I won't do it ...even in Yankee here ,I wouldn't make my own distilled water ... I will go to the store and buy ....

For me better safe than sorry....

Educate me please..
Few years ago ..a friend that I know .he wanted to buy a brand new accord clean from the factory via dealership. So he wanted to export the car to naija.. He was told that he can't do it ...so they suggested to go and register and put the car on the road ..I don't know what happened after that.. Didn't bother to ask o.
But my guess was that. Once he received the title from motor vehicle registrar, he was than allow to ship the car.. But the car is no longer considered brand new...
I can recall now that the dealership ask my friend, what country he wanted to export the car to ..he told them Nigeria.. And he was told that Honda has dealership in Nigeria.. And they didn't want him to compete with Honda in Nigeria.. Something along that line. The story get has it be

I have so many channels of distilled water in my apartment which i guess you also have and may not know this. I only will ensure that there are no impurities when collecting the water after which i do the 50:50 mixture and finally my premix coolant will come out well. grin
Distilled water and filter or pure water ...are totally different things... I don't think you can equate filter water as distilled water ...Distilled water goes through a semi complicated process
Car Talk › Re: Use coolant.... Not water by dru23(op): 10:38am On Nov 13, 2018
sacramento1212:
It's still the same thing when you have the distilled water and concentrate in place. Mixing isn't rocket science. After the mixture, it also turns to the premix and fresh coolant as indicated by you.
Well should be fine I guess once u can get distilled water in Lagos..
Car Talk › Re: Use coolant.... Not water by dru23(op): 10:28am On Nov 13, 2018
sacramento1212:
When you see something that can save you cost, it's better one goes for it. Distilled water isn't an issue if the concentrate is available. If i was going for just 1 gallon, i will go for premix but not when it's almost 2 gallons needed except the concentrate isn't available then i will have no choice than to proceed.
Well me personally, I like the easy way out possible.... Once you have fresh coolant, it will last you at least a year or so ..so it is better not mind the cost of it ...coolant is almost like a one time thing

1 gallon concentrate = 2 gallons pre-mix.

Ready to use is just a 50/50 solution
Omo ....personally it is better to buy the premix joor ...are you a mixture? That will now be looking for distill water up and down.. Premix makes life easy for... and in your mixing water content is very important... you can't use pure water or nestle water..
Even the so called best table water in naija... they give out one funny taste. Nxt trip I go import my own water... spring water

Your padi man dru23 grin advised i contact you for filter, which will you recommend for the 2006 Corolla?
Haha ...so person no fit recommend for person in peace again.. I don't have ,and I don't have ....haha ...

well if you ask me o. I would have recommended fram high milage filters or ultra synthetic filters ... this is what I use with my Mobil extended performance oil .I use them personally and also on my uber cars .....some people will tell you that fram oil filter are bad etc ... .. I shop smart, before I buy any product at all , I will read the review throughly ... I mainly focus on the negative reviews ...you can check fram oil filters review on Google, Amazon, walmart etc ...Google is your friend.. Also fram high end filters are guaranteed for at least 10k to 15k miles ...that is extra protection for your engine... please Google it ...
Now don't get it twisted.. I am not saying what she recommended is bad o ... I just buy things Base on reviews.. And so far it has worked well for me ... again google is your friend... if 400 people are giving a product 4.5 stars over 5stars.
Are you now telling me the review is fraud... we can agree to disagree...
