250k my foot. I had a friend that delivers 35k weekly but he was working almost 24hrs (day n night to make that amount, and and the end of the week, nothing to save for himself, that's even taxify o, that's is kinda more popular than uber. He has dropped the car now because he can't meet up the payment anymore! There are too many people on the platform now, so it's not as lucrative as b4. I have a group whatsapp for the drivers where we share experiences, motivate and encourage one another on the driving experience! U can't make 250k. Na lie
So you expect the drivers to tell you the truth that they are making money ? What do you expect them to tell you now.... Pretty soon drivers will tell you to dash them the car now... u telling me drivers can't make money on Sunday and Monday and work smart during the week .... Plz let them drop the car if they are not making money.
Health is wealth and then can sit home and pray to God now..

The truth is that the business has gone sour, to be able to meet up, you need to work extra smart, and also the grace of God. What we need is Back to Back is a GO
Well in that case make you drop the car now. Health is wealth o. Don't kill uself, there are lots of jobs out there that you can make money now.... Fast money self...

Story for the gods, that oil is $25. Why sound as if ur own is being sold differently. It's a universal price .I no dey interested ,if I need it I get it my price

I will bring some in hopefully May ending o. I will sell it for 16k per 5quart.. To ship that thing to naija go cost you more in the long way. I have a plan to ship with almost low or no cost to naija. You can also look at these first. See if you are interested in it .
Lol you think say I want 419 you.... Lol. Story for the god...lol you don't even need the oil self ... u said the engine light of your corolla has been on and the car was running fine now... my sister forget synethic oil self wetin you need am for.... Just use mineral oil and your car will be perfect.... Wetin be sludge self.... On another note . If you can bring the oil without shipping cost all well and good.. The diffrent with me is that all my parts I bring in I don't pay shipping cost at all. If you can bring yours in without shipping cost, than you are gud...but if you want air cargo am gud luck .or you want put am inside somebody's container that is ok too ,just make sure you package it in a box. Whichever way my sister good luck...

In Lagos, this biz has gone down drastically. Our fortunes went south when uber reduced fares by 45% while leaving their commission unchanged. And too many vehicles on uber and taxify platforms, such that earning per driver has dipped seriously.

I have been driving on both platforms for 2 yrs now and I have done close to 3000 trips on both platforms. The issues are:

Incredibly low fares
Car jacking, snatching especially at night
Fraudulent riders who always refuse to pay
Bad roads leading to frequent repairs
Traffic gridlocks
High cost of spare parts and maintenances
Few or non existent price surges
Death of drivers due to greater insecurity and accidents due to fatigue.
High commission charged. Uber charges 25% while taxify charges 15%

All these and other factors have reduced drivers earning considerably hence any driver that makes 60k-100k weekly is a star and lucky chap. Requests are few and far in between,

Drivers are not meeting up with payments, it's very tough and unpredictable now.

Personal advice is dont get carried away by false info out there. This is the truth and reality. If you must invest, play down your expectations or stay away to avoid avoidable heart aches.
Wow sorry bro.. Didn't know that people are still snatchin, car jacking etc is still very rapid in the uber business.. I mean understand the bad roads and frequent repairs of cars... so request is even slow on the weekends too... am sure request on Sundays and Monday has dried up too ? So are you still driving uber still or you have thrown in the towel? Well it is well bro

Bro how much should i get for a 2010 corrolla with 72 miles
Omo na 40k you should collect ... but most drivers na 35k or 30 self they want collect from you. Keep in mind you have to deal with the maintancing the car like oil change etc. Also a car with that high mileage is advisable to use synethic oil to avoid sludge in your car. A mobil 1 full synethic will cost you 16k or more to change the oil... keep all those in mind.. I collect 37k to 40 on some of my cars... so depends on the driver, please shine your eye before u give ur car out. I almost got burnt few times.... Goodluck bro

At the end of the day, if anybody tries to be cute with me , I don't play fair at all .. I will bring a gun to a knife fight have said that before... funny am using free WiFi to get online most of these bums attacking me will now start asking for credit after wasting their time replying me with stupid comments...
Am not Bragging at all most of them can't read very well. Once they see 8 uber cars , they won't finish reading the full page before they now conclude that am bragging.

Bragging on top 6-8cars that's not even worth 30m, GTFOH!

hmmm,UBER. i am UBER partner, but the truth is that anybody that is given out his or her to DRIVER should give it second taught because, the business has a lot of partner now, which make us idle sometimes.and there is no way driver can help this because,if he don't get order there is no way money will come in. what I am trying to say is that driver find it difficult to meet up with weekly payments. due to number of partner that UBER has now. and UBER will take 25% for every trip, the remaining 75% for fuel, car owner and driver.some times we end up doing cabu cabu in other to meet up.
Well me no get that problem o... one driver just drop my car, on friday, and by monday I got another driver.... Matter of fact two cars were avaliable, the other was down coz of sludge , all cars back on the road ....so bro each person is different or has diffrent mode of operation o

Now whether people take me serious or not ,does not bother me one pit. Coz have been pretty straight forward with people... people should know when am serious or not. Anything anybody tells you take with a grain of salt anylaze it and you make a decision from there.
Now the military General stuff, if you read carefully, Gazzuz said that am not a driver or ever driven on the platform.. That is very correct, now for the fact that I have not one, but fleet of cars on the platform does not mean I don't know what is going on. I don't necessarily need to be on ground... I go by what my workers tells me and manager tells and now compare those with what is going on in nairaland uber thread... from there I make my own final conclusion on what step to take. And also I have few friends on the forum, that are drivers and partners. And they are a great source of information to me. I always
have great communication with them . Those are the people I rely on my interl.. I don't have to be on ground or be a driver to know what is going on. Now if I didn't have any cars at all, that is different situations.
Now if you have read my past thread, I said you will need a good team around you to succeed in the business.. I have a pretty team around me so far... do you know how emails I got from people asking me advice? Also I share my own experience on the thread for people to learn .. If am able to have 8 cars on Uber within 8months of starting the business, am either doing wrong or am a high risk taker. So please let us read to undestand, I have great passion for the business. And once I can master the business feel comfortable enough , you will not hear me on the forum. God willing am hoping to have 14 cars this year. I ordered an uber for a friend and the driver came with a highlander, like I said earlier, it's not always about the size of the engine, it's about bin smart.

Talking about brand of cars, I see where people say only xyz cars will stand the test of time, they are right to an extent but not entirely, if you haven't driven other brands then it's wrong to ascertain that other brands won't, afterall I still see some rickety Volvo carrying tomatoes around Mile12. Some cars are problematic but with diligence and good maintenance culture it would serve you well and that's if you drive it yourself but if you ain't driving yourself then stick to xyz brand.
You know that if Gazzuz does not approve it , the car is not good o..
