My bro say no more. It is boring trust me, my stash of memes are just waiting to be used. But lately nobody has been posting crazy stuff or drivers complainnig that 10k a week rental should be maximum.. Trust me once the crazyness starts, I will be there to fire out the memes. But I think gazzu wants to wake me up from my slumber *rubbing my hands in excitement * till than I can't meme myself now. Abi make I come dey fight myself on the forum?

If you read my previous post. I said in order to succeed in this business you need a good team around u And I also said that fleet management is for short term goals.. I am not a big fan of fleet management and still am not.. I rather focus my time and energy to grow my own business.. When you own something u tend to be more serious, than when you manage for somebody.. I made a prediction few months ago, and we all know what happened...
June 28th will be my first year in business doing uber.. So with 8 cars plus and counting.. It's either am a crazy risk taker or am doing something rite...

I believe the expert on engine has reply you.. My own take is that anything made in Nigeria are made with low quality.. Quality control is not well enforce in the county... the Yankee stuff has more quality control and no company in Yankee wants to get sue.. Trust me people in the states are looking to sue companies for false advertisment or false claims ... that is the difference between Yankee and the ones sold in Nigeria.. It boils down to quality control.. Even the China made product coming into the USA are quality control... they enforce the basic standards of goods coming in ...

Last week Friday I picked a rider from southern sun to Georges hotel after Glover road and fare was just about 600. We talked well well, I told him all about Uber, and he was miffed that Uber collects 25%. At the end of the card trip, he gave me 3k and rated me 5star. God is indeed good.

Am happy for you bro.. Just keep in mind to always take the good with bad.. Not everyday is Xmas and during the bad days always have it in mind that you also had good days too.

IF I was to take a guess ? Am sure that engine is straight from Japan... Japan has the best engines for second hand sale. Almost anything made in Japan is top notch. Now from my experience importing parts from Japan.. Their parts is very expensive and very competitive... I used to buy the parts in Chiba Japan and offload them at blessing warehouse in Ladipo. The rush to get those Jappanse engine was the bedrock of your container. Some people at the time will import engines only from Japan. This is back in early 2000. Now when the Nigerian importer couldn't compete with the japanse market again. A new focused was now on the American Market for japanse spec parts .. People started buying parts from the Texas USA. People will buy cars from the auction and pieces them apart. And at the time a lot of American spec Japanese cars were floading the Nigerian market.. So USA was a better option to get parts from and cheaper compare to the ones in Japan.
Now if you were to go to ladipo now to buy parts.. They will ask you which ones do you want ? The jappanse spec or American spec.. Trust me the japanse spec will cost more , coz of the quality and conditions they are in. Even me self I was like to buy made in Japan cars in the USA than the ones made in Mexico or other countries... now you will ask me how do I know which ones made in Japan? When you look at the vin number of the car.. The vin will start with J something that's when u know it's made in Japan. For example the early to late 90's nissan maxima was made in Japan.. Bring enough o. The rate of range rover disappearing from the roads has made me and my forum member to agree on importing Castrol oils from the US and sharing it among ourselves for the servicing of the Range Rovers for the whole year.

No problem o.. I only have limited quanity to sell.. And I have mobil 1 too .. The first batch will arrive May ending and if all goes well I will bring more of castrol for the second batch.. Honestly castrol oil is very OK and I plan on using it more on my fleets for uber.. The reviews are very gud and for the money it is worth .. Castrol oil will focus more on bringing in for second batch... I will keep you posted sha ...

I am not against our made in naija oils. In fact we dont have made in naija oils except the visco that you use. These companies have and r and d unit and if I want to provide oil for a market, I should look for the one that will suit the market. Peugeot recommends Total oil but that oil recommended by Peugeot does not exist in Nigeria. So people use the Total oil that is available and it destroys the engines. Toyota USA recommends 0w20 for the engines and for all weather, all weather and you bring it to Naija and use 20w50. Unless you dont trust the manufacturer, then follow your mechanic. I once used Oando SM20w50 api sl on my range rover sport and the wahala I had made Oando staff to admonish me for using that oil. People are buying engines all the time and we have not bothered to find out the root cause. It was PAN engineer that told me to inform people to use Mobil 1 esp for the new generation of Peugeot cars but meanwhile the sticker recommending Total is still on the car. The oils sold by Total in France, it is not available in Nigeria. There are classifications of oil and if you can check Honda and Toyota, they want you to use 0w20. Is it available locally? Why cant Oando produce 0w20 since the current cars requires the oil? It is only recently they brought out 5w30 when even a honda accord 09 requires 5w20. Are they for us or against us? I told Forte oil manager to put a caveat informing motorists the Visco 2000 is an api sl and not suitable for cars above 2004, he said it is not possible. Mobil said that they are selling those oils because Nigerians are poor and they cant afford the right oils for their cars. You did not see me holding a gun to force anyone not to buy obsolete oils but do not say no one told you.

The leather limited elantra I got was about 1.2m , which I couldn't belief my eyes that I got it at that prices.. Trust me if I would to get the same car now, it will at least 1.4m ... it is all about luck

For now free from vandalism..... Elantras are now becoming very common as per its an alternative to a corolla. We are aware the law of nature in the crime world.. People will start stealing their parts if that is not already been done.. My back lights were almost stolen at the port.
And my observation while in Lagos was , for every four corolla on the road , there were two elantras on the road... the only previous issues I had with the car was finding correct parts like linkages and the shocks that was sold in the market was very bad .it didn't last long at all , it cost 35k for four shocks and the bushing for the car was hard to find the good ones.. I have one on ground that needs a bit of attention.. And I will let you know when am ready to bring it to your shop..

Have been preaching synethic oil as if am the spokes person for engine oil world wide.. From experince people just use any oil and neglect to follow the manufacture advice.. Even the mineral oil people use self is any oil .. The just tell you use total oil ..totoal oil is good.. And in the long run the car suffers, a situation of laugh now cry later... one guy on my whatapps group said that Nigeria economic situation does not allow correct oil.. Mjneral oil is fine we go manage am like dat...
On another note Gazzuz what is your take on elantra now since you have them in your fleet.. Are they durable ? Or they give issues ? And why the sudden change of heart towards elantra

The true fact is that the uber business does not pay as expected anymore. One is only getting loose change compared to the investment that one made. Uber drivers are becoming smarter everyday by asking passengers where there are going on telephone and requesting offline trips, there is only an extent that Uber can put one under slavery.

I am still awaiting the new tactics that Uber drivers would be using to make more money.

SN: The uber guys are also reading this platform.
