Crime / Re: SARS Brutalizes Young Man In Benin, Edo State - Injures Him Badly by Dsov2016: 8:22pm On Dec 16, 2017 |
not only #endsars but #reformoursecurityforces and #endsecurityforcesbrutality. I say this because just 2 Saturdays ago at airport rd in Benin a soldier on mufti was just assaulting a man because he brushed his car. u need to see the way he was peppering this man with slaps, the guy was begging the military guy and the guy was still slapping him, when the female passenger of the vehicle whom was believed to be the driver's wife was begging the soldier the man threatened to beat her too. the edsma officials who should have salvaged the situation were busy telling the driver to enter the car of the soldier. the soldier finally bundled the guy into the vehicle. they should know that even a cornered dog will fight once it is pushed to the wall. I remember on the 18th of January this year when the people of igbogo a community close to okada drove the police after the killed a pastor of that community. you need to see the way two d.p.os and armed mopol officers ran and drove off as if ghosts where pursuing them. what I am saying is that the authorities in concern should train the forces in interaction with the wider populace and p.r. lest this resentment continues to fester to the point of catastrophe. me I have said my own o. 1 Like |

I thought that in the ancient times, tithe could refer to what u produce or have so why is it these businessmen cannot accept a tenths of the harvest of farmers, a tenths of fishes from fishermen why is it always money, cars, houses, jets and other luxuries which cannot be shared amongst the less fortunate of the members. I went to a Pentecostal christian school and I can tell u I hate the hypocrisy spewed by this churches, every term school fees was increased by at least a quarter of its previous price. I started at 14k and by the time I was through fees was around 150k now the fees nor be here, but this church was collecting offering and donations every Sunday for the upkeep of this school and as at the time I left teachers were earning pittance to the point that my dad was always giving them a ride, because of this they could not train the students well. i also remember seeing a ' man of God's house' the land it was situated on was so large and many members of his church were homeless or tenants, this was a man who always preached about the beauty of heaven what was stopping him from building blocks of flats for his less privileged members instead of a mansion for himself since has said he will have a mansion of his own in heaven. I also recall in 2002 when my mother, cousin and I were going to a crusade along Lagos Ibadan express road. our bus broke down at about 9pm on the highway and about an hour later the pastor who all of us in the bus were going to his crusade drove pass us with his fine white car and a host of mobile police men we were flagging him down because of water to put in the radiator of the bus. he just drove pass us and was telling us he will see us at the crusade. God finally helped us from there to the crusade ground and that man was preaching about the good Samaritan on the pulpit, I just felt like tearing him a very, very hot slap. this was the man who could not help a bus filled with women and children on the high way. this was just coming few months after a traumatic experience where armed robbers broke into our house and almost killed my dad and i, my mum was lucky to escape because of how cunning my father was, he told them he had more money upstairs but the tenants had locked the entrance so they should boost my mum up so she could open the door through the other entrance. my mom escaped to the nearby church and asked for the pastor to please go and call the police. can u imagine that the idiot started pretending as if holy ghost was ministering to him. my mom said anytime she opened her mouth to ask for help they would start shouting in tongues. it was a Muslim man and a woman who they all said was an idol worshippers who called the police and saved our lives. most of those so called men of God would not see heaven as they are so callous and wicked 10 Likes 1 Share |

felixomor: dude stop arguing with biased facts. since you want facts oya take this one and chop Economy - overview: The Holy See is supported financially by a variety of sources, including investments, real estate income, and donations from Catholic individuals, dioceses, and institutions; these help fund the Roman Curia (Vatican bureaucracy), diplomatic missions, and media outlets. Moreover, an annual collection taken up in dioceses and from direct donations go to a non-budgetary fund, known as Peter's Pence, which is used directly by the pope for charity, disaster relief, and aid to churches in developing nations. Donations increased between 2010 and 2011.The separate Vatican City State budget includes the Vatican museums and post office and is supported financially by the sale of stamps, coins, medals, and tourist mementos; by fees for admission to museums; and by publication sales. Its revenues increased between 2010 and 2011 because of expanded opening hours and a growing number of visitors. However, the Holy See has not escaped the financial difficulties engulfing other European countries; in 2012, it started a spending review to determine where to cut costs to reverse its 2011 budget deficit of $20 million. The Holy See generated a modest surplus in 2012 before recording a $32 million deficit in 2013, driven primarily by the decreasing value of gold. Most public expenditures go to wages and other personnel costs; the incomes and living standards of lay workers are comparable to those of counterparts who work in the city of Rome. In February 2014, Pope FRANCIS created the Secretariat of the Economy to oversee financial and administrative operations of the Holy See, part of a broader campaign to reform the Holy See’s finances. |

felixomor: and a sizeable amount of that budget goes to maintaining one of if not the oldest cache of artifacts and books at the Vatican vault, also to maintaining several other ancient churches. also have you seen the size of st peter basilica do you know how much goes into maintaining it. there is also the scholarship provided for priests to go to the university, funding for Caritas (people in Edo state just benefited from them through their giving of free mosquito nets) and other charitable institutes like st Vincent de por, funding for mission schools and evangelical outreach e.t.c and even funding for other organisations like research, medical outreach, even the paranormal fighting division. my friend if you know how many organizations are under the catholic church you will realise why its a nation |

Politics / Naming And Shaming Those Who Destroyed Libya – Owei Lakemfa by Dsov2016: 2:31pm On Dec 08, 2017 |
THE United Nations (UN) under then Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon met on March 17, 2011 to decide the fate of Libya. Civil War had broken out in the country with rebels seizing the city of Benghazi and parts of the country. The rebels were armed by the West with the United States getting Saudi Arabia to supply anti-tank rockets, mortars and surface-to-air-missiles. Libya Egypt’s Special Operations Force Unit 777 and Tunisian mercenaries were fighting on the side of the rebels. The Ghadaffi government on March 4, captured armed British Special Forces in Benghazi but under severe diplomatic pressure, released them two days later to board the British frigate, HMS Cumberland. During the war, the Ghadaffi government deployed the armed forces and bombed rebel positions especially in Benghazi. There were civilian casualties. The West used this as an excuse to directly invade Libya in order to “protect civilians.” It is like invading Nigeria today because we bomb areas held by the Boko Haram terrorists. Earlier on February 23, 2011, US President Barack Obama had in a nationwide speech stated that America with its “allies and partners” will invade Libya to protect “human rights.” With that, he deployed Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton and Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Bill Burns to coordinate international actions towards the invasion. When news of Ghadaffi’s brutal murder filtered out, an ecstatic Hilary Clinton laughed uncontrollably and declared in a triumphant voice: “We Came, We Saw, He Died.” She was paraphrasing Julius Ceaser’s famous words in his letter to the Roman Senate announcing his ultimate victory in a war around 47BC “I Came, I Saw, I Conquered” (Original Latin: Veni , Vidi , Vici ). Then British Prime Minister, David Cameron presented information that were later proven to be misleading just to get the parliament vote for the use of British troops. Amongst those who voted for the invasion was current Prime Minister, Theresa May. With the rebels taking over Libya, Cameron on August 22, 2011 told the British people: “Our task now is to do all we can to support the will of the Libyan people, which is for an effective transition to a free, democratic and inclusive Libya… I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many British pilots, air staff, ground crew and everyone who worked so hard to support the NATO mission …This has not been our revolution, but we can be proud that we have played our part.” Raul Fernandez-Berriozabal, described pre-invasion Libya: “Before the invasion and destruction, Libya under Qaddafi’s leadership became the most prosperous nation in the African continent. Libya had no external debt and its reserves amounted to $150 billion – In 2010 (before the Obama/Clinton regime murdered Qaddafi), Libya ranked 53rd in the UN’s Human Development Index among 163 countries. With life expectancy at birth at 74 years, an 88% adult literacy rate and a gross enrolment ratio of 94%, Libya was classified as a high human development country among the Middle East and North Africa Regions – basically the only African nation not to receive foreign aid. Qaddafi engineered the Great Man Made River, a network of pipes that supplies water to the Sahara in Libya, from the Nubian Sandstone Aquifer System fossil aquifer. It is the world’s largest irrigation project and basically turned Libya’s desert into a garden.” Alain Juppe, Minister for Foreign Affairs of France at the UN presented the main arguments for the invasion. He predicated this on the need for freedom of expression and democracy. The lie in this can be borne out of the fact that the Arab countries at the forefront, especially the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan, are dictatorial monarchies. Lebanese Representative, Nawaf Salam said the Ghadaffi leadership had lost all legitimacy and that the planned invasion was the only hope for Libya. Others who supported the invasion included Portuguese Representative, Jose Filipe Moraes and Nigeria’s Joy Ogwu. Britain’s Mark Lyall said unless the invasion was carried out immediately, there was every likelihood that the Libyan government will retake Benghazi. German Representative, Peter Witting declared that for Ghadaffi and his government: “their time is over [and] they must relinquish power immediately… The people of Libya who have so clearly expressed their aspirations for democracy should be supported.” American Representative, Susan Rice said her country would be involved in the invasion in order to protect civilians and human rights and that Americans ‘stood’ by the Libyan people. Brazilian Representative, Maria Luiza Riberio Viotti apologised for abstaining, and condemned the Libyan government for allegedly violating human rights and endangering the civil populace. One country which could have stopped the UN from being used to legitimise the invasion, was China; it abstained when its vote could have vetoed the tragic resolution. Ironically, its Representative, Li Baodong was the UN Security Council President who presided over the Resolution. Baodong was to explain that although China had serious reservations about the resolution and was opposed to the use of force against Libya, his country had refrained from using the veto because it attached serious importance to the requests by the African Union and the Arab League that the resolution be passed. Perhaps, the unkindest cut came from the Russia Federation known to have had good relations with Libya. It was expected to veto the invasion more so with the experience in Iraq which turned that country into a basket case and destabilised the region. But Russian representative, Vitaly Churkin after asking the relevant questions, making a case for a peaceful resolution and the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of a member country, abstained rather than veto. Abstention in the circumstance meant a green light for the invasion. The Russian vote is difficult to analyze as it may be an indication of its submission to Western pressures or an outright rejection of the Ghadaffi administration. It could also have been to please the Arab League in order to gain some influence or to strengthen the hand of France with which it was in a diplomatic romance. It might also not have been a mere coincidence that all members of the BRIC Group (Brazil, Russia, India and China) who voted on the resolution, decided on abstention. Indications that the Russian vote might not have benefited from broad support in the Kremlin surfaced when Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov criticised and rejected the resolution. The then Prime Minister, Vladmir Putin also rejected it, describing the resolution as resembling “a mediaeval summons to a crusade.” President Dmitry Medvedev countered that he was in support of the abstention. Whatever may be the position, the fact is that the death sentence was signed, Libya was destroyed and humanity was presented an avoidable tragedy; a crime against humanity. culled from vanguardngr website |

Nowenuse: truth. most naija do not know that our actions rub on other black people. if you ask any foreigner to name an African country they will always mention Nigeria. that's why I said that the failure is on the part of our idiotic leaders. in terms of foreign policy obj was the best among Democratic leaders. the rest onluly know how to steal money and disgrace themselves on media forgetting the world is a global village. only a visionary Nigerian leader would see that leading and uplifting this country will do the same for Africa. but prob is that the world powers would not let this be because they know what Africa is that's why they call it the new frontier remember the USA was once known as the new frontier that's why they have divvied us up, they are systematically colononizing us through our resources. this is the new age colonialism u can see it with what China has done to Zimbabwe, what India has done to S/A, what France is doing to other francophone countries. look at what they gave done to the ruling class. they convince them to sell their resources for pittance(bribe) and then make them invest it in their own economies and still tax them, so they are essentially getting our resources for free and even making money/duping the political elites. if Nigeria does not wake up to its role and end this disguised slavery we the younger generations will live to regret it. it would be similar to what happens in communities in Nigeria where the elders would sell all their land for money which would be spent leaving their children to become tenants or worse destitute 5 Likes |

Keneeby: Jerusalem was the capital of Israel under David and Solomon after which you can say Israel became client states to their nations until it fell apart. what people are saying that the latter incarnation of Israel acquired it through force of arms from its native settlers the Palestine's. do not mistake Palestine for Muslims rather than as an ethnic group or nation. the prob is that people have merged this boundary dispute with religion. what enlightened people are saying is that if the USA can recognise force occupation of Jerusalem as legal, then it will be hypocritical of them to continue fighting Isis, taliban, and other groups like them since the territory they hold is through force of arms or that Russian occupation of Crimea is legal or that since boko haram captured several LGA and sambisa, its is their own and legal. trumps declaration puts several things in jeopardy and allows for several illegaties to take place |
