I know sometimes we need a break off each other to think things through say couple of weeks that's fine but not a year. Many things can happen he can return and that thing that made him decide he needs a yr break can make him tell me he isn't interested again after one yr is over.

The point is what exactly does he want to do with the one yr break? Nothing tangible... Then he should forget about our relationship. Once he leaves he shouldn't bother to return.
