Well erm. . . due to violation of the TOS and AUP of their parent registrar, they have been slated for shut down. Lovingdomains.com has mailed all its customers and has given them 3 options. All say the same thing, transfer your domains away from us "immediately".

And the mail ends with

"We suggest you do this immediately. Apologize for any inconveniences but please understand, this is out of our control.

This affects me a bit cuz I have 2 domains i registered there a while ago before I got my enom account.

What's annoying is the reason for shutting down. The people they are reselling are resellers of orderbox! I have always hated the concept of Orderbox. The concept is, they take care of everything, hosting, registration and they give you a white labelled site (called a supersite) and you dont have to worry about jack, all you need to do is face the marketting aspect of webhosting.

Tridomainhost.com is one example of an orderbox site. Sorry I am having to name names cuz I got no sentiments at the mo.
I saw "Online Chat" on Tridomainhost.com one time and I am wondering what support they want to give a customer. About 2 years ago a friend had a problem with her site on tridomainhost and asked me to fix it. I explained everything to them on phone and was expecting a quick fix, one i could do if i had root access. They did something that just shifted the entire content in the public_html folder to the parent folder . . .and still didn't fix the problem.

I must say though, they are good. If you know how to fix problems yourself without needing them.


Well well well, that aside. The main issue now is that lovingdomains.com who promised that in the event of a collapse, they will transfer all domains they have to another registrar, has gone bananaz.


I have always had this in mind: Never put all your domains in one basket (registrar).


If anyone out there has a domain with this pipz, please transfer it "immediately" (na so dem talk). Please remove any form of WHOIS protection before transferring any domain or else the confirmation email for the domain transfer will not be sent to the owner and you wont be able to provide an activation key.

This thread will serve a better purpose if links posted are filtered to only those that ship to Nigeria with little or no questions asked.

create an ad and provide relevant keywords
choose your daily budget
choose between cost per click (CPC) and cost per 1000 impressions (CPM) and set your bid
supply a valid and legit credit card in your billing profile
wait for (i dont know how long) google to approve your ads.

OR

Hire an expert who makes a living from this (An SEO expert). Look around carefully so you don't get ripped.

The whole thing just seems dodgy.

No server is down.

The domain is parked free by GoDaddy, its that simple.
A parked domain is like a parked car. No driver inside so that car isn't moving.
There is no hosting account tied to that domain.
If you have full control over the domain then by all means get a host somewhere else and point your domain to the appropriate nameserver.

Hello, where is this database located? If its located on an SQL server on the net then you can transload server to server. And yea server to server speeds should be giving you about 9mb/s which is good.

Would like to know a few things then I can know how i can be of help.

What OS is running on both servers? (i'm hoping its linux)
What (if any) control panel is running on both servers? (i'm hoping its cpanel)
Do you have full root access on both servers? (i'm hoping you do cuz you'll need to wget things)
What's your monthly bandwidth on both servers? (I'm hoping its above 3GB)

Donpuzo, yea the do-it-yourself stuff always works.
I see this thing as. . . you have a forest to cut, someone just shows you how to cut grass and the you cut freestyle into any direction you go and be good at cutting. I don't think anyone needs NIIT/ Aptech for that.

I just hate the fact that they are wickedly expensive and their prices never get a downward review year in year out. If the pricing is to change, its upward. Yet if you know how much they pay their faculties (lecturers), you will weep. What the faculties survive on is side jobs which in most cases get them into trouble by the time they are caught stealing company resources (which will include time) for the side jobs.

Sorry about this. In my humble opinion, if you have deleted your recovery partition, then you have altered the master boot record. I do not think getting a recovery image back on it will be of any use now.

I don't know what you'll want to do but I can tell you what I'll do if I had this kinda issue, you may get some better suggestions from other techs here.
I'll back up all necesary stuff and do a clean installation of the OS that it came with, using the serial number at the back of the laptop.
Once done, I'll go into device manager and try to get drivers for my primary devices, if the OS hasnt done that already.
I will face primary drivers first. For instance drivers for things like bluetooth or SD card, i dont see those as primary and I may never bother to find the drivers for them as I dont use those functionalities. Primary for me will mean my Display, Sound, Network adapters, and Modems. The OS is most likely going to drive things like your USB Controllers, your Optical drives, processors, keyboard, mouse and so on.

Few months back I took off the recovery partition of my dad's hp pav tx2000.
What I have said above are what I did. Some drivers aint working. For instance the laptop's lid is able to turn 360 degrees and lie on its back making the screen orientation change from landscape to portrait. Well I didn't bother getting the driver for that as i know he never turns the head of that thing. I didnt bother getting drivers for the finger print device on it either. If Vista didn't sort out the Touch Screen feature by itself I wont even had bothered.

Spent roughly about 1mill for a total of 4 years. Let me break it down.

There are 10 quarters. In theory each quarter should be 2 months, but most times its 3 or 4.
Each quarter is 50k
So 10 quarters will be 500k

After the 10 Quarters, you get an Advanced National Diploma in Info Tech (HND Equivalent), its called DNIIT in NIIT. This is what I used to migrate to the British uni. I chose to study online cuz I had to be working here to pay ma fees.
The fee for the Brit Uni is about 470k. Duration there is 1 year (more like 9 months)

So in total its 970,000.00 Naira.

I started by paying for the first 2 quarters. I'm just remembering now that the money i paid for 'em 2 quarters was gotten from the first 3 websites I designed  .


You can use the DNIIT you get after the 10 quarters to get into Malaysian schools and you spend about 2 years to get your BSc. I dont really know much about this but if you want complete info I can redirect you to a friend who used he's to get into a uni in malaysia about 3 months ago.


In my humble opinion, NIIT and Aptech are ripping pipz off and frankly they tell too many lies and we fall for them thinking they have done us good. The biggest scam/lie NIIT pulls yearly is their "scholarship" program.

Yea get the winmo 6.5 rom from xda developers and install. be careful when doing it. Its best to use ActiveSync running on Windows Xp than to use the Active Sync equivalent for Vista and Win7, cant remember the name. . . Mobile something something.

If the fone is running on win 6.1 you may not need to update to 6.5. An update however might be the solution to that bluetooth thingy.

Prolly you felt we already know it as you have created a thread like this earlier. Two things, most pips, like me have 4gotten the url or you could be asking for a review on a totally different site.

One matter that should be addressed is creating the awareness nationwide using the mass media, to let pipz know that these rediculously priced jobs will always result in sub standard stuff. E no go even bad if examples of 5k sites are shown on tv. By the time that man sees toolpusher dot com on tv for this reason he'll do the right thing.

This 2010 eh, we need to sit the clients down and let them know they have boundaries. They are the boss over their respective companies but not over the web standards and technologies we use.

I dunno how this happened but we just made this profession a hungry-man thing.

The typical NIIT style na to overload you with books and you are to come to class for 10 "quarters"(a "quarter" is 2 months in theory which is 50k naira) and they read the whole book for you then you go home. Their classrooms are impressive. In my time it wasn't really one person per computer it was more like one person for 3 computers (we used laptops too although its prohibitted but my course had immunity to that prohibition). We wld always write codes hoping we dont meet bugs, once we hit a bug, class close "faculty" (thts wht they call the lecturers) takes us out to drink and smoke for those who smoke

Sometimes we go just dey class with no faculty then we just get busy trying to break into their different networks to tiff the exam software

Then when i migrated to the university, na different ball game. Assignments (which involved lotsa coding) sometimes more than one a week.

NIIT just did rubbish with us, the overall result in my set was so bad that the university withdrew its affiliation from NIIT this year.

As far as the university was concerned they expected ALL of us to be top notch cuz of the diploma we came out of NIIT with and cuz NIIT had painted the diploma (called DNIIT) in fancy deceptive colors.

I'm speaking of 2-3 years ago, maybe things are better now. Some of the faculties they have now, we all graduated together.

Just have it in mind that the owners are not after your education but the money. AFAIK Aptech is owned by Indians, so is NIIT. I spent 3 years at NIIT studying Software Eng and used the diploma I got to migrate to a british university to complete my course in BSc Computer Science and its practices.
Before going to NIIT i checked out Aptech here.

I'm not discouraging you but when these guys tell you something is red, please go and check for yourself to make sure it is red. Please don't bother verifying it is red from their front desks. The front desk pipz are stereotypes programmed to play what they are fed by the owners.
