I prepared a little tutorial on this a while back for clients of TruDigits.com it can be gotten from the Downloads section once logged in. Since you are not a client I'll have to mail it to you. What's your email address?

Thanks. That's not a bug though. Only authorised users can get into their account with the username/password combination. Once they are in, to change the password they first have to provide the present one.

I don't get your point, are you saying people shouldn't be able to change their passwords from their account and should always have to mail the admin for a password change?  huh

Secondly, how about a careers website for Nigerians where people will be seen and contacted for the actual skills they possess? For instance, i am a website designer, if i have a profile on the website, you search for web designers and see me, see my public ratings, see my list of projects, description of my job etc. I thought this would be a great addition for Nigerians to start getting hired for the skills they possess, but tell me what you think?
Makes sense. Who's in on this one?

WebmastersRe: Predesigned Site Or Building From Scratch? by DualCore1: 8:26am On Oct 27, 2010
Well there comes a stage in a scratch coder's life where most tasks are achieved by copy-paste. Reusable libraries that were coded from scratch just once.
WebmastersRe: If You Can Design This Website, Contact Me Immediately by DualCore1: 8:23am On Oct 27, 2010
Its a core JS thingy that will not function without JS. Ajax comes into the picture and also PHP. This is what I can see from just a first glance. Its most def an ideal project for a team to get dirty on if all financial variables are right.

Will you accept an invoice (for time spent at the meeting) from me after the meeting? I don't think so, so answer my questions here.  smiley

It saves your time because you wont need to keep repeating your budget on each meeting with each propective developer.

When exactly do you want this done and what is your budget?

Would appreciate straight answers to the above questions smiley

fake programmers. 16 hours coding, 15 hours on NairaLand.
I always work with 2 screens (17inch hp dv9k and 19inch hp l1950t lcd monitor) and Nairaland is always on the second screen next to my mail and server monitoring tabs.

As I write this, I have Notepad++ with a blinking cursor in the middle of codes on my main display.

If I spend 20 hours coding, I have spent 20 hours on NL (active or inactive), I have spent the same 20 hours on yahoo IM and the same 20 hours on Google Apps, same 20 hours listening to Jazz and soft-rock or listening to already watched episodes or cartoons and comedie series playing minimised. This isnt just multithreading, its my hyperthreaded approach to life.

Call it fake if you want, it doesn't affect my GTB accounts. grin

Not so nice coming out in the open with this. If you don't like a quotation, its just best to keep searching for a quotation within your budget and let everyone move on with life. Its always good to have the right clauses in Quotations that will protect one from unlawful distribution of copyrighted material.

WebmastersRe: How long do you code a day(Hours) by DualCore1: 10:24am On Oct 25, 2010
I dont time myself when working so I'll just drop a bit of info on how I work. I am not really disciplined with work so I cant sit myself down anywhere to do anything for so so so number of hours. I just do the thing. . . sometimes for even more hours than I woulda imagined.

Waking hours (from 3am)
Face carried over bugs, if any.
Arrange my todo list using Windows 7's Sticky Notes.

Morning:
Face the most tasking jobs for the day.
Draw up storyboards, UMLs and do other planning.

Mid Day:
Face the coding jobs with lighter need for brain power

Afternoon:
Face the coding jobs with little or no brain power required.

Evening:
Time to CSS. I draw up my layout (css, xhtml, php) and mail the graphics pro (ogzille) dimensions for my banners.

Night: Time to take one babe out to the movies  grin. Different babes for different movie nights out. smiley

Mid Night:
Server admin mode - Linux (time to do penguins).  cool

This pretty much describes my daily cycle. Its not very strict however. Some days I could break down and be so out of sync with work.

From experience I have seen that bugs I hit at night with no seeming way around them are grilled with relative ease once I wake up the next morning. There are however some bugs that you just can't leave for sleep because they will torment you in your sleep.

P.S: Thinking aloud: LoiusThoru removed his/her gender,  huh

unlimited deception but still ok and fine or limited genuine limitation?

Much love bros,
Well you know what they say, different strokes for different babes abi na folks.

I will choose a genuine babe with a chastity belt and misplaced keys over a deceptive babe with promises of unlimited slamming, any day!  cool

I don't mix biz with pleasure but the above holds sway also in my biz dealings and it works good for me.

Its enough stress to be having an average of 4 hours sleep a day and have servers online 24/7. I don't think we want to add the stress of chasing clients around with a TOS/Fair Usage Policy stick for uploading 400GB of data unto their 6000 Naira/year account. They get what they pay for and we are not pressured to give out what we didn't bargain for so everybody feels good cool

^^ However its unsafe to use an opensource system for a mission-critical solution like a banking application. You know opensource cuts across both sides. The good side: We can see the codes and learn to improve it. The bad side: slyr0x can see the codes and learn to compromise it.

There is nothing like unlimited space in the real sense of the word! Havnt we grilled this topic before?

I dont think we should grill it here again.

The simple formular

Unlimited space in the real sense of the word = Unlimited Harddisk space which is not possible because no Harddisk has an unlimited capacity.

Unlimited space in the deceptive host sense of the word = Undefined Harddisk space hugely limited by Terms of Service, Fair Usage Policies and Acceptable Usuage Policies.

Its a technical and professional lie to offer unlimited diskspace. It just shows you are playing on the intelligence of your clients. Offering unlimited space is as big a sin as overselling. But who cares, the "big" companies do it so its now seen as a norm. I choose to differ on this norm.

P.S:The above is strictly IMHO.

Let me go down Archive Lane to pull out that thread where it was grilled.
