for where? I saw Craig Bellamy turned inside out like a schoolboy, Rooney's attempted tap in palmed into Gigg's path to roll into the net. abi is that not how it happened?
I'm just disappointed cos I expected more than this from city, the way they started they will likely lose this match except they play a much better 2nd half.

By the way, I'm also keeping an eye on an Arsenal FA youth cup game where Ipswich is leading 2-nil and will likely win.

TBH, I'm one of those who believe Coquelin should be ahead and I can't help thinking Arsene wants to push through some English talent through as quickly as possible to stop the snide remarks from the English media. I say this because Eastmond is older, but in the Youth cup run, Coquelin and Frimpong who were younger played through the middle while Eastmond played as a right back. I recall Steve Bould saying then that one of Frimpong and Coquelin would definitely play in the first team.

Anyway, the Prof must know what he sees and why he is playing Eastmond ahead, I'm beginning to think he doesn't like high octane players who expend too much energy like Flamini in the MF preferring the quiet distributor types like (Gilberto, Denilson and Song) cos that is the only difference I see, I can't help wondering how Eastmond has suddenly overtaken Coquelin who was considered as being ahead for a central place during the youth cup run.

I always knew Eastmond couldn't make it as a full back though because he really doesn't have the pace for it but Coquelin as far as I'm concerned might be another Eboue in the making, he is that versatile and even more tenacious.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only. by duduspace(m): 2:12pm On Jan 19, 2010
@Slim

The way its going, he should be able to come down within a year, I visited a Bolivian footie site and they are quite excited about the guy and he is already pencilled in for a Senior cap ASAP, they'll try to help his career as much as possible (though a newspaper has also come out to say he is actually 20 years old which is still young anyway). If he gets some senior caps, then we can get him in to London Colney in about a years time aged 19 which is about the same age Diaby came to us, a bit unfortunate he might never get to be part of the youth setup though, he could have helped our youth cup and academy league push again right away (by the way, there is a youth cup match against Ipswich today and it should be on ATVO).

To be honest, we are now so full of very good youth players that we will definitely lose some or sell some on but it is good for our finances and helps us to be able to choose the cream of the crop.
There is so much talk in the forums about if Eastmond merits being played aheads of the likes of Coquelin already, Merida is angling for a move and Barazite is on the comeback trail from injury. There is so much competition at the youth level and that should ultimately translate into the first team which is actually so young in itself and already looking like the best in the country.
Interesting times to be an arsenal supporter I must say, lets just get that first silverware, dem go come hear wehn.

Dudu what is happening with Galindo nah. I know u r our resident youth football specialist. Are we getting a special permit? Sincerely this Spain first things i'm not liking it jare.
The situation is a bit confusing at present, I'm not sure if we'll be applying for a special talent permit for him as most of the rules have been changed particulary with regards to moving between continents when under 18. Its likely he will only move to Spain on loan once he clocks 18 in April I think, We might be able to get a special talent permit (which we got for Denilson and Song) if he gets a National cap by then but it will depend on who supports his application (Kalou's application by Chelsea was refused initially and then went through on appeal when supported with letters by football heavyweights like Johann Cruyff).
I think Arsene likes having all the bases covered and thats why he's already making arrangements for a possible loan deal.
But don't expect much from Galindo immediately, he is one for the future and not for an immediate impact.

How we are still competing really astounds me shocked shocked shocked
That is the question my brother, shows the strength in depth of the squad. I've been keeping an eye on the physio room and I don't recall us ever being out of the top three, most of the time we are number 1. You'll never hear the biased media saying this but Manure had just a 1 1/2 week of injuries and they didn't allow us rest about the manure injury crisis.  undecided

For those who still doubt the efficacy of our prayers, Denilson and Walcott are back in the squad for Wednesday.  grin

Theo Walcott and Denilson are back in the Arsenal squad for Wednesday night’s game against Bolton.

Arsène Wenger’s side can go top of the table if they repeat their 2-0 win at the Reebok Stadium on Sunday and the return of the two midfielders will only help their cause. The Brazilian has been out since he was stretchered off with a rib injury in the final minutes against Everton on January 9. Walcott has been missing since December 27 because of hamstring trouble.

However Nicklas Bendtner, who has been sidelined since October 31, has a return date. The Danish striker is pencilled in for a comeback at Aston Villa in 10 days’ time.

His long range pass to ED9 last in last season FA Cup quarter final against Burnley comes to my mind. . . . Song na Baba Now!. . .22yrs? na Africa Boy o0o. . .him go don reach like 26yrs now sha tongue tongue
I recall someone telling me he spent most of his early teens in France even before he became a professional footballer having moved there with his Uncle Rigobert after losing his father, he even played for the French Under 16 team from 2002 - 2003. I also remember him looking very young when he initially came to Arsenal at 17+. I doubt he is much older than that age even if there is some african magic involved. At the most I'll put him at 24.
The rapid development in the past 2+ years also suggests both physical and mental development one would expect within that age range unlike players like Kanu who had virtually peaked at about 19 to 20 without much development afterwards.

Van Persie getting better, thinks he'll be back by mid April.

[Quote]
Wenger predicted last month that Van Persie would be out for "virtually the rest of the season". That is still the case even though the 26-year-old is making steady progress in his rehabilitation.

"He has come back [to the training ground] and is doing as well as you can at that stage," said Wenger after the Bolton game.

"He is out of his boot and walks normally but he thinks he will be playing mid-April."

last season people we screaming palacious and its like but now Song is the name on every ones lips when its comes to the DM posistion.
The difference between Song and most of the other holding midfielders in the PL is that Song can actually play, he is a more complete player who can pass, is strong enough to hold the ball and has a good technical level. He is evolving into a deep lying playmaker like Pirlo as most of Cameroon's play now goes through him, we have a true monster of a player on our hands who is just 22 years old,
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only. by duduspace(m): 8:41pm On Jan 17, 2010
It is so unfortunate that Cameroon are not playing as a team and some their players surely must be wearing the shirt for the last time. Where did they get that clueless LMF (Tshoyi or what is his name) from. Anyway one man's loss is another's gain, Alex should come back quickly and I hope he is not affected by this shoddy uncameroonian like performance.

Good show of our strength in depth today (but now we've lost both Nas and Rambo for 3 weeks), its very likely Wilshere won't be going away on loan any longer with our injury situation (these injuries in training makes me wonder how intensive our training sessions and the competition for places are). Armand Traore was not given much protection from any of Diaby or Arshavin (who was actually quite poor today and looks like he needs a breather) until Clichy came in but he also needs to work on his positioning and concentration as he always allows too much space for runners from the opposition MF get behind him.

Denilson and Theo (not sure I'm excited about this) might be back for Wednesday and our Big Dane is only 10 days away from a return.
