I've said it before and will continue to say it, when we play these kinds of teams where we expect a physical battle and aerial threats, Arsene should ensure all our physically imposing guys are there like Song, Diaby, Bendtner and Traore, the only 2 dwarfs I want to see are Cesc and Arshavin then maybe Rosicky who I know to also be a battler. Denilson and Clichy should be out and I don't even want to see Silvestre on the bench.

You totally miss the point Sauron, even Smalling is an unproven talent, the risk of signing him is only mitigated by the fact that people have already seen him seemingly hold his own against Drogba in a single game even though he got much help from Pantsil who had a stormer. Vidic and Rio (as well as the other top defenders manure has had such as Stam and Blanc) on the other hand were well proven before they moved to manure.
It remains to be seen if Smalling will actually cut it at the top end, it remains to be seen if even Evans can hold his own at that level as this is actually his first extended run in the team, people like you are quick to forget that Senderos actually benched Big Sol in the season we came 2nd to Chelsea in the 04/05 season and surpassed a record of clean sheets in the UCL while 20 years old.
We don't need to sign someone who has been deemed not good enough by the gaffer to test if he will suit the PL or not thank you, we already have enough of players we want to try coming through.

I guess he wasn't ready for the first team yet unlike Smalling who had showed the ability to play in the PL already and Arsene didn't want to add more youth to those already coming thru. I guess the player Arsene is looking for is an immediate backup as CB for Djorou in case he doesnt return the same from injury, with the possibility of Djorou also getting games in the holding MF role in which he also played in as a youngster.

If that is the position yu're looking to play him in the PL, then good luck to manure is all I can say.

We had Wellington Silva in for a behind closed doors game and bloke didn't disappoint.

Arsenal striker Wellington Silva scored a brace and made a goal for Emmanuel Frimpong as the Gunners dispatched Dagenham and Redbridge in a behind-closed-doors game at London Colney.

The Brazilian has been training with the club since last Monday and he was handed a start in a youthful second-string side against a mixed Dagenham XI. He scored the opener before playing in Emmanuel Frimpong for the second. Silva then wrapped up the scoring in a 3-1 win.

Some folks are also reporting that Savic played in the match prior to him signing, though he is no longer so sure of signing for us.

We will not just batter chelsea but totally mangle them and squeeze out all the schnapp. I can still see that 5 years of European and PL domination on the horizon.

Denilson and Clichy cost us the game yesterday, atrocious decision making. I was never one of those on Denilson's back but I might be on that bandwagon soon. He just doesn't seem to have the heart for such big games, decent player otherwise. On the 2nd goal Vermaelen did everything right, tracked Park all the way, Denilson intially tried to double team with Sagna on Nani but wasn't aware of Rooney sneaking in behind him. Clichy saw Rooney's run but stupidly chose to go join Denilson and Sagna rather than staying with Rooney  
Denilson and Clichy were culpable in all the goals we conceeded. FACT.

1. Do all black sub saharan team consist only of players playing in the PL? please supply details of the Ivorian squad who I know to have a lot of players playing in the French league. Even our own team had players from Spain, Germany and France. Would you in the name of misplaced nationalism now enlarge the net of your hasty analysis to include these other leagues?

2. Must we play using these English PL players? if we really have developed our own leagues or youth system, shouldn't we be able to use local players as the Egyptians do (despite also using players in other leagues such as Zidan).

Your post has nothing to do with colonialism apart from that which exists in your imagination, it rather has more to do with a society of people unable to chart the best path for themselves by utilising the various synergies that exist within an increasingly globalised world where regional, national and ethnical barriers are increasingly being broken down and people are only interested in what serves up the "best" (depending on what your parameters are for defining what the best is).
Instead of always playing the victim card, it is time for Nigeria to learn how others have done it to synergise between their external exports and internal initiatives towards achieving success, the PL has come to stay, there is nothing anyone can do about it but I do recall Clemence Westerhof not using the likes of John Fashanu from the PL when he was the National coach. Massive individual errors cost us today and some players did not put any heart into their game.

Those whose names need to go into the book of infamy are:
1. Almunia: I think Arsene shld start playing Szczesney or go buy a better goalkeeper, it is too late for Almunia to improve now, give Szczesney the opportunity to be like Cassilas, at least he cant be worse than Almunia.
2. Clichy: Has further cemented my opinion that he is not better than Gibbs or Traore at present, he is a prime candidate to be moved out at the end of the season to give Gibbs and Traore the opportunity to contest for the LB position and should rightfully be demoted to the bench right away. He made Nani look like a genius.
3. Denilson: Showed lack of heart or desire, no awareness at all for Manure's second goal, Ramsey should rightfully take his spot, he definitely can't do worse, at a time during the game I asked my brother what portion of the MF he was playing in cos I saw him neither in critical attacking or defending positions unlike Song who was contributing at both attacking and defensive stages of play.

Sub par performances:
1. Arshavin got in all the right positions but didn't look to play in others, wrong decisions in the early chances we had. Don't want to call him selfish but that ball he didn't pass to Theo during the Bolton game is taking on a different colour now. cut him some slack because he wasn't in his normal position.

2. Nasri, was invisible and didn't make Rafael break a sweat at all.

Players who put in usual performances we expected from them:
1.Cesc, what more can you ask from the lad, what could he do when Clichy and Denilson were giving goals away?
2. Song, what more can you ask? despite the wrong and early yellow card, lad still put in his shift and contributed all over the pitch.
3. Rosicky, lively and contributed a lot in the early chances we created, deserved to be on the pitch if not for his injury fears.
4. Sagna a bit below par, culpable in the last goal but game was already lost by then.
5. Gallas and Vermaelen, if only the other players could have the heart that these guys have? Vermaelen was great as usual, made to look bad for conceding 3 goals but who wouldn't when yu've got potential disasters like Clichy in the team?

I disagree, Coyle is obviously a believer in pass and move football which he was successful with at Burnley, he can't just go about breaking the established system at Bolton within 2 games. The 2 loan signings he has made (Wilshere and Weiss) shows the direction he wants to move in. He must have done a lot to convince Arsene he has a plan for Jack and remember Jack himself had a choice in the matter. The fact he wanted him at Burnley and continued the chase at Bolton shows he has a liking and a  plan for the lad.
I think it is good Jack is also exposed to the rough Bolton tactics in training and learn how to overcome it, I only pray they don't break him in training. Jack already knows most of what there is to know about passing having come thru the Arsenal system, experience of a different culture at Bolton can only make him a more complete player.

Sauron is still talking rubbish with the Nani/CR7 comparison, I can't recall Nani being aerially proficient in the CR7 mould, can't even recall him scoring an header for manure.

As far as I'm concerned we drew this game only due to Ramsey's stupidity, I hate it when a player acts erratically and this is where maturity and know how comes into play. The lads have to understand that every opportunity counts, it seems the team is so used to creating chances that some players no longer hold themselves responsible for missing them.

If we got that goal just before half time, the game would have been more open in the 2nd half and we could well have gone on to record another 3-0 victory.

I can't for the life of me understand why a player would decide to go and run into the path of a team mate who had a run on goal for the sole purpose of having a touch on the ball.
no striker scored for those money miss road people today but they mostly made the right decision at the right time.

And we do need a striker as Eduardo doesn't seem able to play that role well and puts no pressure on the opposing CBs at all, you could see the difference when Bentner came on, not necessarily that he was much of a goal threat but he was able to play better with his back to goal, hell even JET who is not a striker by trade looked better in that role just becos he had the physical attributes, the opposing CBs are able to step up against Dudu but were more wary of long balls with a more physically imposing striker up there.
