plaetton: When and how does the DSS know that someone has been kidnapped before the local and state police commands?
Where is the evidence that a crime has been committed in the first place?
The DSS knows that they have no reasons to continue the detention and trial of Nnamdi Kanu, so they are desperately trying to fabricate tensions and enough fear to label ipob a threat to security.
It's funny and should be glaring to every Nigerian that same DSS never never issued a statement , nor made any arrests, till this day, when marauding Fulani herdsmen genocided 300 Agatu natives in Benue state just about a month ago. My thoughts exactly, how did they verify decayed bodies as fulani with names? We never heard of any dna proof... besides abia forests are frequently used by kidnappers that may bury their victims |

VomeSchakleton: I suggest you pass laws that restrict this activities so you can prosecute these "trespassers". In which case they wont have an excuse now would they? Hmmm... do you need to pass a law to stop me from setting up an office in your bedroom? ... such laws may be interpreted wrongly as all new sectional laws will and I'm sure if you take a look at the laws, its already there or else they wont be arresting people for wading into other people's property without permission |
Politics › Re: 31 Girls Arrested In Hotel By Kano Sharia Police by dumodust(m): 8:32am On Mar 26, 2016 |
VomeSchakleton: Cattle herding is an occupation. If you can admit prostitution is your occupation then maybe we'll make provisions for you. Besides, you can set herding laws if you want, we'll follow them. We are law abiding people. I didnt say herding cattle is a crime... but certainly you must agree that carrying your cattle into people's permanent businesses and properties called farms and lands is a crime, I think things will be easier if you view it from that perspective, you dont need herding laws to know what is a farm or property, its common sense so anybody who sees well arranged crops and wades into it is being mischievous... ever heard of trespassers. |

sonnie10: You have to understand the extent of the problem to be objective. First, how many qualified radiologist do we have in Nigeria? Remember, it takes additional 4 to 5 years after medical school to become a radiologist. The last time I check the were just about 180 of them in Nigeria. That is approximately 6 radiologist for each state. In other words, 1 radiologist for 1million people, considering that they are about 170 million people in Nigeria. Compare this with the number of radiology procedures that are performed each day in Nigeria. From plain film xray, ultrasound, CT, MRI and Mammograms, these procedures are done in hundreds every day in Nigeria.
The question now is, who are the people reading those images to make accurate diagnoses? Since doctors in other specialties are not qualified to read this images accurately, these overwhelming numbers of images have to be read by someone, that is where those abroad are needed. If that gap is not filled by qualified radiologist elsewhere, patients will suffer and quackery will ensue.
Technology has made it possible for imaging exam to be done in Nigeria and transmitted abroad for results. It is called Teleradiography. Just like sending ordinary photographs over the internet to someone outside of Nigeria. But this is done with more sophisticated, secured softwares. One example of it is PACS (Pictural Archiving Computer System), it is a vendor reoriented enterprise. With cloud computing gaining grounds, we may begin to see other non-vendor systems.
Radiologist in Nigeria can only do what they have the resources and time to do. In India and other Asian countries, there are companies whose primary operation is medical Image solutions. They have under their employment, radiologists who read images for partner companies on "pay as you read" bases. Nigerians would have benefited from such but because of poor infrastructure; electricity and internet- they are constrained The world is fast changing and Nigeria can not afford to be left far behind. A lot of people these days work from remote sites, thanks to technology and the medical profession can not be an exception. I'm not a radiologist... but I during my school days and residency training as a surgeon, I have been thought to read my ct scan and mri images myself then seek further review from radiologists, their initial report notwithstanding. I'm not against outsourcing, or seeking other opinion because someone can see something else you didnt initially notice. Even in nigerian, people send images within via media to radiologists and outside. What I hate are demeaning stupid comments from people who know nothing about anything... saying no one can read mri is stupid and ill thought |
Health › Re: Nigerian Doctors Abroad Give Conditions To Return Home by dumodust(m): 1:49pm On Mar 23, 2016 |
By MRS scan machines I guess he means MRI Scan... anybody who cant read those has himself to blame, stop bringing down doctors in nigeria, the ones abroad moved from here. Radiologists will be particularly insulted by that comment... here they are discussing the brain drain and someone is talking about sending images taken in nigeria to america... unserious dolts |

Superbrain: I don't understand why the guy needs recognition from the President. Getting a 5.0 CGPA is indeed a rare feat, but all the media hype around him and blame on Mr President is very counter-intuitive. This guy has the world as his oyster. He could get a full scholarship, expand his knowledge and experience at the highest levels (World Bank, UN, etc) and give back meaningfully to society. I was particularly disgusted about the "no money for rent" claim and more disappointed in Freeze for being a part of that whole bullshit. It is clear there is a wrong sense of entitlement here, and I am now more concerned about the mindset of this young fellow and his supporters.
Mr Azuka, you have made your point. But remember to remind the young man about a few things:
1. There are opportunities that abound everywhere. Getting a 5.0 GPA does not confer any responsibility on anyone to reward you for that personal achievement. 2. He is only starting off in his career. He must learn to manage his sense of entitlement lest he thinks the world owes him anything. This would help him in the long run. 3. At this point, he should seek for mentorship and advice on how to chart his career and not think that a 5.0 CGPA is the ultimate 4. There is a lot more he can contribute at this point that would earn him the respect of a broader audience. How about mentoring other undergraduates and motivating the Nigerian youth in the line of academics? 5. There would always be another record breaker. He is not the first, and would not be the last. 6. Getting extrinsic motivators (national recognition, monetary rewards, material compensations), though sometimes a nice to have, can greatly influence your intrinsic motivation and increase your appetite for material things.
His achievement is laudable and he should be rewarded (by those who deem it fit to do so) but he still has a lot to learn as graduating from a tertiary institution is only the beginning. Life grades you by a different metric. Oga, thank you for making so much sense and making things clearer |

uncjay: Bros, I've been going through your posts and they're not making any sense to me.
First, how sure are you that the dude is not a hustler as you painted in your first post? Second, has it ever occur to you that not all hustler are successful despite giving everything they've got?
Life circumstances varies from one individual to another, in Nigeria here, people sieze any slightest opportunity to make it. Hard work can never be ruled out but we dare not assume its a benchmark for harnessing success, its just a stepping stone toward becoming great. Instead of crucifying the guy for what the media propagates, why don't you carry out a research work and tell us your findings about him. That the guy use the media to his advantage is part of hustling. Debunk me if you wouldn't do same, if found in his shoes. I understand your point but get me right... only a hustler gets first class with 5.0 gpa... but it doesn't end there... as a profound academic, I just feel he's dropping the ball and diminishing himself by allowing all this media circus to get to him and he may lose focus... he should just remember that people forget really quickly and you must ride with purpose at the peak of hype and instigate a different kind of noise about getting a tangible well paid position, not this rent ish and push for recognition that bloggers use to attract traffic to their blogs and politicians use to prop themselves in the eyes of the people... just my candid opinion, anybody can think otherwise... no offense |

Jimi23: What "truth" are u telling? Appreciate a genius when you see one. The guy deserves to be appreciated. 5.0 CGPA na beans? Appreciating him will encourage students to be more focused on their studies and Nigeria may be able to boast of world class graduates not the dullards we have as graduates in almost every strata who have nearly ruined the country's economy because they lack the required level of intelligence and competence to work efficiently but got the jobs via "back door" recruitment like the current CBN illegal recruitment. We need geniuses like Dada to help Nigeria grow. You talk as if the jobs are that easy to come by in Nigeria, I know of a 1st class graduate who was home for six years b4 getting a job and someone who finished with a pass after 3 extra years in university and got a job immediately. Nigeria reeks of corruption so quit saying Dada needs to go get himself a job like its that easy. That's the point exactly, its not easy... so how does this parade end well for him? That's my question... him not others. He needs to start moving on his advantage not these opportunists trying to score cheap points that are goading him along... the best way to use the current media hype is to use the wave to 'get signed' and get paid like the bread seller... this media mascot series wont do him any good, the buhari's, arase's and children of other elites will still get the jobs in the end anyway so no point whining... just hustle your best and keep it moving outside the noise |

You don't understand my point too, I'm not against him being recognised but we have been on this recognition for over a month, even the bread seller they used as a yardstick for comparison has moved on... he seems to be hanging around for hand outs, his body language and projection seems to say so... for him to succeed, he must understand that this is just the beginning, he should push applications, apply for good jobs... if he had done that and put it in the media, I wont be annoyed... but what did they do? At 28 and 30yrs u only need to inform them and not necessarily their approval or consent or whatever. The matter shd go to court. As for all church marriages are not legally binding (even though the pastors claim is the only one recognized by 'God'. That god must be something lower in cadre than our beloved AMADIOHA). In court, the matter is dead on arrival. Gbam! |
