Pidgin2: It's 100% real. There are people who have tried everything to excel in life but their efforts are futile as soon as yokes are broken that person's life changes for good. I have seen a prostitute who abandoned her child from childbirth. The child never knew her mother and she grew up in an environment where the other kids graduated from school and became successful people whereas she ended up being a prostitute taking children without fathers to their house like her mother did
What of children whose father died as a thief, the boys also took after their dad despite not growing up under him.
Whatever you do has consequences of the lives of your kids. Genetics has a wide role to play in mentally and intelligence, both good things and bad things emanate from it. Some genetic aberrations predispose to criminal tendencies. The environment only modifies or enhances traits you already carry. The right environment may prevent some from manifesting. Some things have been so ingrained in our genes and chromosomes that they are now called natural instincts. If you isolate a male and female on an island from birth, they will still know how to feed, defend themselves, shag and produce kids. Are those generational curses too? |

hoodboy: Let me share my something i personally experienced for your sake.
In my family lineage, no person gave birth to more than three boys, this dates back to my great grand fathers, My grand father had two brothers, and each of them gave birth to only 3 sons, and each of the three sons gave birth to only 3 sons as well (i was among the 3sons of my dad).
On quick glance, you might not think much of the situation, my dad had 4 children, 3 boys and a girl, quite perfect family size. But on a faithful day in church, a guest minister was praying against ancestral curses and asked anyone who felt he had such ties to come out for prayers, at first my dad didn't come out, but when he realised "the 3 son issue" he quickly jumped out, was about the last person to come out (his own account). He prayed for that curse to be broken, and later that year my mum got pregnant, 8 years after she had hung her boots.
The warfare that surrounded that pregnancy wasn't funny, things became very tight financially so hard that when my mum was due for delivery, we weren't even able to buy any of the required things. the first thing that came was a baby bath, which our family friend brought to the house. God is always one step ahead, my mom's brother came back to Nigeria just as my brother was conceived and everything my brother used during his first months, from diapers to powder to clothes, he brought with him from america.
Just as if he knew he came during trying times, the boy would never ever cried for food for one day, secondly he didn't ever eat up to one bowl of cereal or any of the baby foods, we tried everything but he just couldn't eat it, the only thing that would go in and stay in was 'Ogi baba' and that is what he was weaned on.
After the birth of my brother, extended families that had been suck with 3 boys started to give birth to more than 3 boys, four years after my brother we had our last brother.
Ancestral curses, agreement, bondage are real. Hogwash and old wives tales. Go and read about genetics and probabilities... i dont know when giving birth to 3 sons became an issue? We are 3 sons in my family, several of my extended family members have 3 sons, my sis has 3 sons but i never went about blaming my ancestors. Sex selection has to do with the male spermatozoa which can be x or y meeting the ovum to produce either xx (female) or xy (male). Maybe the proportion of 'y' spermatozoa is much more than 'x' in the males and bros, all na chance and God. Thank God you guys are bearing kids self and that their is no case of infertility. |

Phi001: Really? Considering it's my family I'm talking about, I'm quite certain I know what I'm talking about. Curse was meant for firstborn males. They usually died at 49. The closest one of them reached was 49.5 then suddenly he died.
Thankfully, the curse got broken with my dad. Man's a solid pastor. I know how many accidents he had in the final six months before he reached 50. He's 58 now. I know a family that their kids were dying in their 30s... luckily they had money and didnt believe in voodoo. Autopsy and the right tests revealed they had familial hypercholesterolaemia which was shutting their hearts down early and guess what? It can be controlled. Some of these diseases can skip individuals or generations or may not be fully expressed in some individuals in the family- check or google penetrance and expressivity in genetics. Maybe your dad is the lucky one. Weird things do certainly happen in 0.001% of cases, but most often than not, there is a rational explainable cause |

selfemployed: you may be correct if you say the Government should ask for help. maybe in terms of bond or anything. But imagine the effect on the economy if the likes of Dangote and all other rich nigerians hoard their dollars in the banks? won't it be better the money is put to use in the economy? Maybe thats why some countries tax money deposited in banks. and company owners pay less tax The help i meant was from better heads or experts... not this patch and patch trial and error. Domiciliary accounts operate like extreme current accounts, they charge your for withdrawal, deposit and to and fro transfers. What else do they want to charge? This is just a move to make more money for nigerians banks. People bring money to banks for safe keeping and benefits, not to be robbed. We may be heading back to the days of hiding money under mattress |

So if CBN has their way to enact this law, r u saying all d foreign investors in Nigeria will fold up, the ansa is NO.... Who ever wants to go will go, nd who is willing to abide by d rules will come
You are only looking at it from one angle, do u c any positivity in d move atal?? I understand your argument and angle too but I have a feeling this new move is just to have all out power to restrict funds movement. We must always ask questions and not trust this people completely before they enslave us under their own noses while their kids frolic with the forex. One thing is for sure, this law will affect poor you and me who need to transfer small funds for transactions than the intended culprits. And i insist, if the already existing laws are enforced to the letter, there will be no need for further draconian moves. |

What kind of slave mentality r u displaying here... U will complain that D Chinese, d Isrealis, d Indians r ripping us off, evading taxes, repatriating funds to their country n instead of kipn D money here to boost our own economy
Of wht use is d foreign investors, if all they come to do is hire Nigerians as contract staff n pay us peanuts, mKe all d profits nd repatriated the funds to their country nd ur here talking rubbish
Use ur brain for once, forget sentiment....lets all push for what is right Stop attacking ordinary people that suffer under the injustice of these weird new laws... face the government that have refused to enforce already existing laws that take care of these excesses after they take bribes, curry favour and look the other way only to come and wail later, enact more harmful laws and still blame ordinary hardworking citizens for their crimes. Tax evasion is the work of FIRS... where them dey? Cbn regulates money movements in and out of the country and banks are obliged to report certain huge sums of money... where them dey? selfemployed: some Nigerians have enough dollars in the bank that can help put an end to the dollar scarcity. but prefer to hoard it. they should be made to pay heavy tax on that or liquidate it to help grow the economy I don't understand... what you are suggesting is robbery. If i decide to save more and spend less, who's business is it? One day they will make a law that will force you to sell your lands or assets because 'there are no lands to buy'. They are hoarding because the economy is not favourable and does not promote trade. Why not make better policies, improve liquidity and truly diversify the economy. You can not improve the economy by using the same insecticide to kill off good insects (common nigerians) and wasps. They should ask for help and quit all this trial and error economics |

Kgdavid: Did you just mean to say the arms should check themselves by themselves? That cannot happen.
Now here's why your analogy is not even remotely correct:
1. Judiciary cannot check executive. that is the function of the legislative
2. the legislature can arbitrarily summon the executive before them, provided there is consensus
3. The judges were arrested just last night. It is too soon to cry about due process because arrest is only stage one of the process. Due process would be for them to be informed of the charges against them, taken to court, etc I said they watch each other's backs.... read well The judiciary interpretes the law correctly if the executive wants to over reach itself... that is how it checks the executive my friend. If you have any case, why go breaking people's fences in the night Is there no better and more clear way to do this in public glare? What are they hiding? Coincidentally these are the judges interpreting the law differently from them. Just great. I really confused at what you are promoting in the name of law. |
