RomanceRe: Is It Proper? by dumodust(m): 8:59pm On Mar 14, 2010
mcnikes:
Am a corper serving in Benue. There's this girl in my class. She's damn pretty and good mannered. I sure feel something for her but don't know if I should let her know. Anytime I talk with her the way she calls me "Sir" makes me feel like its wrong to ask her out. I know its unethical and improper for a teacher to date his student but am deeply in love with her. Will it be proper to tell her how I feel about her?

LiteratureRe: My Problems With Most Nigerian Writers by dumodust(m): 6:45pm On Feb 21, 2010
i believe each individual has his own brand of literature in him, we all grew up differently even though we all may be living in naija. the world is a global village, no more seclusive writing, cultures are now intertwined, mixed up and brought together by tv and travelling, no need to be stereotypical or copy someone, write as you feel and the world will feel your originality
LiteratureRe: Ripples From London; Only The Best Critics Puleese! Lol by dumodust(m): 7:59pm On Feb 07, 2010
just logged in to comment on this one. read it about a week ago, a very strong start, pregnant with details of what is to follow. your writing style is ok, unique. dont give up on this, look at it as something that has an end. you have something here
anyway, in 'Again I shake my head and sign for him to keep pounding while I order his two younger sisters out of the kitchen to make

their unholy racket elsewhere.'
the two younger sisters seemed to pop out of the blues. no hint of them in the original description of the scene when she walked in, her son was only pounding ogbono.
good job though

you know, the black man's tendency to sway towards superstition and other illogical ways of solving problems never ceases to baffle me. it's only a deep shallow illiterate mind that talks of a love potion in this age!!!

RomanceRe: Does True Love Still Exist Nowadays? by dumodust(m): 11:20pm On Oct 09, 2009
the human concept of love is a manifestation of denial. Love truly is mostly symbiosis- somethings are being gained by both parties physically, psychologically etc. It's something we cant explain, an addiction, a high that we become addicted to, a 'neurochemical event', no different from taking antidepressants. Dont get me, wrong, i believe in love but i think we have all been exposed to too many westerns while growing and we are stretching it to far,
RomanceRe: Sleazy Pick Up Line by dumodust(m): 4:01am On Sep 27, 2009

it is people like black revo that will go back and sue when they are treated under a mango tree. Shame no dey catcg una, so wartime is a perfect comparison to the nigerian situation. Medicine if you haven't noticed has a medicolegal aspect, dont touch what you cant manage adequately or it's jail time for. The human nature has taught doctors a lesson and i'm glad that they're adapting, Humanitarian my foot. Thank God you now realise that there's a shortage in manpower. next time if they ask for more pay, attack them
HealthRe: Why Doctors Go On Strike by dumodust(m): 11:54am On Sep 14, 2009
agaba123, i think you may be refering to a sedative like diazepam which can depress repiratory activity in head injured patients. pentazocine and other analgesia may actually help but being an opiod, it may affect the assessment of the pupils. peace bro
HealthRe: Why Doctors Go On Strike by dumodust(m): 11:05pm On Sep 13, 2009
and too, no registrar in nigeria earns near 140,000 talkless of 250,000. Agaba123, your ignorance and wild claims are bothering on lunacy
HealthRe: Why Doctors Go On Strike by dumodust(m): 11:02pm On Sep 13, 2009
agaba123, i think you're the one whipping up sentiments, being irrational. I think you're the typical example of an emotionally charged nigerian talking about what he doesn't know. Pentazocine, for your information is a pain killer used widely in trauma and surgeries. It is not propofol, it's actually as common as paracetamol and i'm not aware of a shot sending anyone to hell unless it's fake. You see, that's the problem, wild statements, the kind that you see in the papers. Only informed and enlightened people understand what actually they're sueing for. The average nigerian is intimidated by the doctor. I'm not.
STOP comparing doctors to pharmacists etc, in the health sector there are lines that are not crossed, pharmacists have their roles and besides i think they have been underused and cowardly. They're mostly drug dispensers now.
I feel the scope of this problem eludes the 'ordinary nigerian' with the usual inferiority complex. I know we always value foreigners/white skin more than our own, so like someone said earlier, maybe we'll wait till we start importing doctors from bangladesh,
