Yesitsme:Welcome mama and happy vigilante |
Congrats Yesitsme, Realdentist and Splendy90. God bless your LOs. |
Nice bs Kittana and lol at the uncouth student doctor who wanted to use you as project. Your baby is really cute |
I am typing this with one hand, standing on my feet holding my 6weeks old baby. Chanbaby please take all advice given and save the ones that is acceptable to you. Your sil is doing you a whole lot of favor as you get to rest and learn how to take care of your newborn. I was left alone to face my lo at 12 days post partum. We were not even 2 weeks when my supposed retired mum decided to go chase money in her former workplace, from there she's gone to mourn her mum (my grandmum) that died earlier this month. My mil has not bothered to come for omugwo. She only showed face for naming and left same day. I bath my baby myself, do all the vigilante things and act like a zombie during the day. I almost gave in to depression because my lo was not sleeping at night and dh wasn't so helpful. Note that I have a 5years old and a 3 year old and both never acted like this new one as babies. Let me give you a pointer on how to react when sil brings up her suggestions. ....say thank you and I will note it in future When I was a ftm I got slapped in the hand for trying to put my finger in my own baby's mouth. I was trying to feel if the baby was hungry whereas The slapper claimed that I was going to give the baby cough. I felt humiliated cos it was my dh's grandma. Would I have felt different if it was my own grandma.; probably not You mentioned you open diapers fully to check the status. ....you could get a shower of blessing using this method (sil is correct on the side check no homo I do not agree with her sha on a mother not being able to take care of her own child. No matter how much minutes or hours you spend dressing your baby note that you are doing a great job which many wish to be in your shoes- this is my motivation wheneverI get low Hang in there as this period will pass |
@talltosyne I sent you a message. I have nanny agents contacts if you don't mind |
mitchyy:I agree with the Tomy review. It is very comfortable and durable. I've used mine for my 1st 5years ago and 2nd child used it too and I intend to use it for the 3rd too |
Congrats @kittana, may God bless Zara |
olufemilite:I can recommend VICS. Competent doctors and a good neonatal unit |
I am so sorry for your loss Chizeal. Only God can console and make a new thing. May He give you the fortitude to overcome this. |
iomoge2:So I am not alone in the midnight dancers society ![]() I wish I could try the lights out method but my toddler sleeps with us. He's a very light sleeper, once we off the lights he screams. He even joins me to console his baby sis at times if the crying wakes him up |
jazzyjazz:Abeg leave the boy alone o. The special perf is a show of what you have been eating. I'm sure that he's sleeping now. Hope you get over this phase sooner. We mothers are truly trying. |
Ayegoluwatoyin:I use avomin as a ftm. It helped with the vomiting and heartburn. Take bland foods like crackers first thing in the morning. An empty stomach sometimes increases the nausea. Team January how vigilante market ...... I am presently dancing with Lo as I type. Our disco is at 2am . 2 more hours to go |
CovenantBabies:Congrats teamie. Welcome to motherhood. May the Lord bless our prince |
Congratulations Rukkington God bless and be with your little one. He will be a source of joy to your family |
Sixx:We're good o. I only get to check my online fam once a day when my madam allows . Hope bobos' eyes have cleared today? |
jazzyjazz:It's like our babies came from the same planet. No wonder they landed on the same day . We do our vigil from 12am to 4am with singing and dancing to prevent crying otherwise the neighbours will come and knock our door . Mine sleeps longer when I place her on my chest so we sleep in the centre of the bed and I later transfer her to a pillow beside me during the day. The cot is presently on sabbatical. She doesn't spend up to 30mins asleep in it |
Sixx:It's posible he's got an irritant in the eye. Just gently wipe it off without touching his eye balls. Also careful when bathing him to avoid soap in eyes. Nothing you can do for now unless the discharge increase or changes colour. Babies are naturally blessed with self cleaning eyes |
Mzora:Don't worry. .it's actually a good thing cos it means that your tummy is going back to its pre pregnancy size. The pain should ease off in a few days. Though occasionally you might get them again within the first one month. My baby girl is 3weeks old and I still got the cramp yesterday. We're trying to adjust to vigilante and waking up every 3hrs during the day and between 12am and 4am at night The elder siblings are bae. ..they completely dote on her. I just wish they would learn to lower their voices I can imagine what's up with having a baby and toddler at home. Encourage your toddler to do stuff for you/baby like handing you the baby's cream/powder, throw away the used diaper etc it keeps them in check and better behaved |
Mzora:It's very normal of what you are experiencing is like the labour pains. Your uterus is contracting. You're going to feel it more when breastfeeding cos your body's producing more of the hormone oxytocin. It's more painful with 2nd deliveries upwards. |
![]() Yes so! He is a Great God who confuses the wisdom of the wisest man. Miracle worker has done it again. Congrats Cappo Sixx. May your prince live up to his name and he will fulfil his destiny. Welcome to motherhood ![]() Congrats Mzora and Rieme26 ...God bless your little ones and keep them. ...January mamas are truly living up to the supernatural delivery Sixx: |
Congrats teamie Flodel and Nneka3000. God bless your little bundles of joy. May it equally be easy for the remaining January mamas. We are recording smooth deliveries and no loss. It's only by His Grace. |
I know someone asked me questions For pelvic floor exercises http://www.babycentre.co.uk/a536339/your-pelvic-floor-in-pregnancy For Perineal massage http://www.babycentre.co.uk/x1955/what-is-perineal-massage-and-how-is-it-done |
There's a story too in my family about my mum driving herself while in labour to the hospital. Guess we come from a lineage of strong women. opejulie10: |
Thanks for all the messages and good wishes. The show of love here is overwhelming. So many mentions i cant begin to name all monikers. We're still in the hospital under standard observations. Hopefully we'll get to go home tomorrow. Vigilante has already started Jazzyjazz you are going to carry your little boy home in Jesus name. No weapon fashioned against him will prosper Congrats to mummytweens on your arrival. |
Yes It's ended in praise. Glory to God for He's given me the gift no man can give. I delivered a boucing baby girl weighing 3.85kg on 9th January at 3.50pm at 39 weeks and 5days Jazzyjazz your lo has a partner ![]() BS I woke up at 2am to pee and upon wiping I saw show. 1 st time after my first delivery that I would see it so I was extremely sure that that day won't pass me by I went back to bed and mild contractions started. When the alarm rang at past 5am I made dh to help carry me up as usual though I didn't let him know that I was contracting so he won't panic We got ready and set off for work. I had a early morning meeting to attend and I already set my contraction timer down while in the meeting, the intervals were like 10 -11 minutes Afterwards it was back to work. I had prayed seriously for painless contractions and I got painless ones.....it was just that I was having uncomfortable tightness down below. Even at a point o i was dozing at my desk. Though being a veteran I couldn't recall when as in at what stage to get to the hospital. I had to consult Google search for that.......it said when contractions are 5mins apart and lasting for a minute. I was about 8min contractions interval Around 12noon I went to the ladies to pee and there I lost more plug. Then dh called my line to check up on me. I told him at that point. He was unfortunately going to a meeting. I told him not to bother but to send the driver for me. I gave my line manager notice that I was going to the hospital. ...he couldn't believe it cos I was extremely calm. The driver came for me and I asked him to take me home 1st to pick up my mum. I even changed my clothes and mixed cold ribena before leaving ![]() At the hospital contractions were still more of tightening. I gave the receptionist my card and told her I was in labour so they quickly moved me to see the doctor for an examination Lo and behold the doctor did the almighty VE and declared "she's 8cm dilated please contact the labour ward that a patient is on the way up" they didn't even check me into a room first. I was dressed in the labor ward. ..removed all clothes and accessories and worn a hospital gown. By this time I was contracting like every 3min. The doctor came in and broke my membrane /water then all hell was let loose. Because I have a posterior placenta I felt serious pains in my back. The nurse had to start rubbing my back when the pain hits. At a time I asked for pain relief but it was too late cos I was almost delivering so they can not administer epidural. In my mind I was beating myself up that why did I have to be a superwoman that now I can't get the epi I didn't even get the poopoo feeling I felt with my previous deliveries. ...all I felt this time was back breaking pressure on my vj and anu s. The nurse checked for the head descent and went to call the doctor. By the time they both arrived I was screaming and pushing. I pushed twice and my angel slipped out entire head and body. She was crying instantly and taken for check out and cleaning Meanwhile I was given iv oxytocin to aid placenta delivery which came out less than a minute after. I had no tear at all and when I heard the nurse doing my baby's vital call out the weight I further gave God the glory cos she's my biggest so far at 3.85kg. To further aid contractions of the uterus 2tabs of cytotec was placed under my tongue and the doctor left me in the hands of the nurses for clean up The time interval between when I got to the hospital and when I delivered was less than 1hour. The matron said that it was the fastest delivery she's seen What helped me to prevent tearing I will say regular s e x, perineum massage and pelvic floor exercises I pray for the remaining January mamas that you will also have supernatural delivery. ...painless contractions and easy smooth labour. None of us will cast our young. #teamjanuaryforsharpsharpdelivery #teamjanuaryforpainfreedelivery #TEAMJANUARYFORSUPERNATURALDELIVERY Cappo Sixx and other mamas may the Lord bless you and make the day arrive quickly .easy sailing in Jesus name Amen |
jazzyjazz:Congratulations Jazzyjazz. Welcome to the world Ilan. May we always rejoice with you all the days of your life |
nifeseun:Congrats again ma. Your BS gave me mixed feelings. ...angry at the maternity people and thanking God for giving the hospital doctors the skills to resuscitate. The incision site shouldn't be bringing out pus......that's a serious infection it is not normal. Please go back to the hospital or better still go to another hospital By the way your son is sooooo cute |
Sixx: ![]() |
dharyor1234:Please try to use the drugs more often. I know it's not easy but it is for your benefit. Sorry for the pain. It eases at times. Also check that you don't have hemorrhoids |
kemesty:Praise God. ...Halleluyah! Congratulations ma'am. May he always be a source of joy to your family. Please rest well and come back as soon as possible to share your birth story. |
dharyor1234:Pele. ....the first one is usually experienced by most pregnant women. ..its called round ligament pain. It's the muscle around your pelvis that are relaxed to accommodate your growing baby. This one will stay with you till the end. Taking calcium tablets worked well for me in easing the aches You need close monitoring for the protein in urine to rule out pre-eclampsia. Please if you notice any change in your body run straight to the hospital Don't know about the Ikorodu general hospital |
Sixx:Baby do quick ooooo your mummy is about to pack your entire wardrobe as hospital bag ![]() On a serious note I also dreamt I had my baby over this weekend.....in this recession weekend baby?? |

, congratulations on the birth of your baby, GOd shall continue using her to do miracle and wonder in your life and family... it's well with you
