Pls house, help me on this one: Went to A&E today after changing 4 pads in less than 3 hours filled with bright red blood and clots. Did scan , baby is doing great but my cervix is slightly open at almost 12 weeks.
I have googled and didn't get satisfactory information. Doc said threatened abortion, given pcm injection and some antibiotics.
Who has experienced this, what is causing this and what should i do. I have been placed on strict bed rest. To see doc in two weeks. Pls don't look and pass.

@Mitchyy. I began feeling the pain like pinching around 36wks it was worse when my LO is doing somersaults. I complained about it to the doctor and he said it was normal but at the same time I felt this bumpy ridge at the top of my navel towards the left side. My 1st used to stretch a lot and give my bump different disfigurement so I just assumed that the baby was settled in that spot. Anyway after delivery the occasional pain refused to go. Went for scans nothing seen. Till I saw a surgeon who examined me and diagnosed it. It is not life threatening but it would require surgical repair cos the stomach muscles have given way and lost its elasticity. It didn't prevent me from having another kid or even going for a 3rd one now . I am looking at having it repaired after I hang my boots

I don't know about camoquine in preggy but I know that it's a very strong malaria drug. What does it say on the package about usage during pregnancy?

I have three questions for you first. Is this your first pregnancy, are you close to term and do you have a big bump.
Please Google search for Para umbilical hernia. The symptoms you just discribed are familiar to me cos I had it with my 1st and still living with it today . A scan won't show anything cos it is tissues that are affected

Hello sabi mamas, please i need your opinion. Today is ANC but my obgyn was unavailable. He was handling a surgery at the theater so i couldnt see him. I've been having this sharp pain close to my belly button(navel) since yday evening. It pained me for almost 10minutes and then stopped.
At the hospital this morning it started again and i couldnt even stand up from the chair. The dr on duty said its normal pregnancy pain but i should go for a scan. The scan shows all is well.
Right now it has started again. Very sharp unbearable pain. I just don't know what could be wrong. Pls help.

I think the weight of the baby is genetics. It is not dependent on what you eat or drink. My 1st was 3.6kg at birth and I had serious tear. The second was 3.5kg no tears. I ate moderately in both cases and after the first my mum jisted me that the lowest weight of her kids was 3.7kg. Asked my Mil and she claimed my dh was almost 4kg at birth
also the experience of the person taking your delivery matters a lot. The first time I was just asked to push and my mind didn't register the meaning of PUSH. I wasn't told how to do it till I got torn. The 2nd the doctor actually used his hands to aid the opening of the vj as the head was coming out and he would say "oya push now.....stop pushing"
I usually advice that you watch the doctor during antenatal, determine how competent and willing to answer your question . This will show if they would be patient with you in the delivery room

Funny!! As a ftm, and considering my age, (a little over 20) I'm surprisingly ready for delivery, I dnt knw where d energy is coming from, I'm nt scared one bit. I already have a workout plan of how everything will go, I will practically give birth myself, lol, because I already have those nurses in mind, I won't allow them to push me around

Roll the augmentine and calcium inside eba or any swallow and down it in a single gulp with draw soup. As per the cough syrup I am an advocate for numb drinking. ......don't hold it in your mouth. .....pour straight into the centre of your throat so that the concortion doesn't touch your taste buds. Don't know what is in the other white package. ...if It's tablets treat with swallow
don't worry you can get these things down. Just think of the reward at the end of this journey

Hmmm, I asked a question on this forum two days ago and u mama jump and pass, well all is well. All of us we get to our destination safely in Jesus name.
So I went to clinic yesterday and laid many of my issue to doctor from headache, catarrh, can't put any food or water down without vomitting, leg pain, stomach pain. Hmmm
Na so my doc gave me this plenty drugs

Hian!!! Only me... I wan cry. Mothers please what style do u use to take this plenty drugs? Na beg I dey beg don't read and pass this time around

I actually eat very small meals at intervals and due to this I could most likely eat up to 10 times per day. Honestly, nothing helps. The moment food reaches my stomach, I automatically race to the toilet. I have not tried ice cubes but I always try to take very chilled water. 

I'll be going back to the doctor by monday to complain and possibly request for drip as I am exhausted and worn out. Even my DH feels bad that he got me pregnant (poor guy).

Eiya pele you truly have it bad. Please see your doctor if possible over the weekend. Try as much as possible to stay healthy. We're all here for you for the support .

I rubbed gentamicin cream on my son prescribed by his doctor and wore his diaper loosely. I don't believe in the engine oil tale. ....how hygienic or safe is it?

Good day mothers in the house. I am 9weeks and 2days pregnant with my first child. 

Since 4 weeks into the pregnancy, I've had severe morning sickness and no matter how much I complained to the doctor (though I've only been seen twice by the doctors), no medication seems to work for me. I also realized that the prenatal vitamins that was prescribed makes me very sick and makes me throw up a lot no matter what time of the day I take it. 

It's been really difficult for me and lately, it's worse because even drinking water, makes me vomit. Sometimes I force myself to eat several times a day no matter how small, but as soon as I finish eating or in the middle of eating, I'll start throwing up. 

I even eat fruits a lot but I end up vomiting as soon as I finish eating it or in the middle of eating it.

I've tried ginger tea, crackers, etc but none has worked. Even the drugs I was given to stop the vomiting does not work. Rather it makes me weak, shaky and makes me feel faint.  I don't know what to do, I can't even help myself and it makes me feel very depressed. 

Any suggestions please?

Welcome January teamie. The drugs to stop vomiting will give you the effects if you are taking them on an empty stomach. Try eating very small portions of food and increase the intervals. Instead of your usual 3 meals a day you can break it into 6 or 8 small bits portions. Have you tried eating ice cubes to substitute for your water intake. You really need to remain hydrated. Above all cheer up. It is just for a while weeks. ..by week 13 the ms should ease up and you start your bump honeymoon

they use the olive oil to clean up your baby immediately after delivery. Though a little bit could be used to lubricate the vj sha

The truth about birthing and labour is that when it is explained you won't understand till it is experienced. Imagine menstrual pain ×2 rolling over with tummy tightening. Till that time comes before you can actually determine your pain threshold ....The best way to ease the pain I had was eating ice cubes and getting back rubs. May we all find the day of delivery to be smooth and easy IJN

you are perfectly okay. I eat small portions every 3 hours. Ensure you get your regular doctors visits and you will get a scan at your ante natal registration. This might seem like a rant but then it might not.
And so it happened that I had not been able to go to church for some time now. Yesterday, I made up my mind that I was gonna go no matter what which I did. Only for me to sit next to a lady who apparently bathed with her perfume. We came in about the same time so the scent was still quite strong. I didn't get myself from the moment I sat down in church. Initially I wanted to swap places with hubby but I didn't want him sitting next to her(lol).

All of a sudden I started feeling dizzy, breathless, feeling like I was choking at the same time. Had to leave the church auditorium to sit in the car. That was the end of church for me today because I didn't get relief till service ended.

I was so annoyed! See me wanting to go to church today and this woman from God know where had to go spoil it all for me.

Any mamas with such experience?

yes I do. All my pregnancies and this current one. You're irritable to strong odours. I hide all of my dh perfumes and at times I throw away the offensive ones. I speak up also when I percive a strong odour from a colleague after all I spend over 16thours of my day with them so I have to be comfortable

Was he trying to do a vj sweep? I thought they normally use a speculum to open the place to see cervix. You should have voiced out immediately. Next time don't allow anyone use you for guinea pig

So, yesterday was my clinic day, and I had the most traumatic experience ever...
I complained to the doctor about the contractions I've been having and he said they were just BH contractions, but that to be very sure, he'll do a VE...

Na em dis guy wear glove, clean me with disinfectant, or whatever, next thing, e chook hand inside my hoohaa, and kept pushing and pushing in, like he lost something inside me, and was trying to get it out... I screamed and screamed, asking and begging him to stop, the guy no gree oh... He just went on and on... I just kept screaming and screaming and almost fell off the bed, I tried pushing him off, but he kept pushing...
It was at the point I was about to slap him that he now stopped... Oh! It was the worst pain ever...

Next thing, he turned to my husband and said "ah... only one finger and your wife is shouting like this, when was the last time you two had sex" (which is actually a long time)... I was just crying in one corner...
Then he told my husband that we should better prepare for CS, because my pain threshold is very low... I wanted to ask him if he was normal... I just paused from my crying and eyed him and continued crying...

When i got home and peed, my hoohaa was peppering me as if I had an open wound there...

1...Is a VE supposed to be that painful?
2...Will I be able to push my precious baby out when it's time? I no dey do any CS oh...
3...Wasn't the doctor supposed to use lube before inserting his finger, or something?
4...I started having lower abdominal pains (like menstrual cramps), down to my upper thigh last night, up till now... They're bearable, but very irregular. Is it as a result of the VE?

I'm so sorry for the long post... Please, help your sister...

Avent has more space in it. When buying a steriliser look for the ones that can take more bottles even plates waterbottles and spoons. I prefer the roundish types without edges or corners. Easier to clean

don't buy the tommy tippee. The space in it is limited. It can only take just 6 bottles (their brand). Waste of space and the plug needs special adaptors. I had to discard mine when baby refused to suck from tommy tippee bottles

Apply cold compress only. It will go down. Though might take time. Same occurred to my dd
