In other news, Mamas this baby age of a thing is confusing me.. My baby is 12weeks old which is 3months but her date of birth is 29th which also means she will be 3mths then too..

Try cacatin cream. It works wonders

On the age calculations, actually a month has 5 weeks not 4. We normally use 4 because the 5th week mostly isn't completely 7days.
I think you should calculate your baby's age based on weeks for now till 6mths. If she was born on a Monday, then every Monday she adds a week
After the 6mths mark, calculate her age based on the date of birth, if she was born on a 23rd, every 23rd of the month, she adds a month.
This will help you with not missing her immunisations

I had it during the last 2 pregnancies. even after delivery I still get it once in a while. sitz bath with warm water helps and Anusol cream on the bulge reduces it and gives relive
Include a lot of fibre rich foods in your diet and take more water

Please dont use any drug to dry up the breast milk o, what i did was, i just made a nice warm beverage in his flask and begged hubby to help me give him at night when he wakes up to suck and we did that for 2 days and that was it. As per the breast milk, i used petrol to rub my breast and the water drained out speadily within two days and i used paracetamol, if you see my breast now ehn, it be like say i never breastfeed before sef, lol. what worked for me though.

This breastfeeding/formula issue is always a sore topic between new mums and their mothers but most especially their mother in law.

Did you ask your mum her reasons for breastfeeding your kids? I just don’t understand why it’s done.

Flimsy excuses. ... the baby was crying for food and she wanted to make him /her stop crying.
.....Or the baby suddenly latched unto my bosom how did bosom become exposed for baby to see it?
.....or I want to check if baby is hungry (most annoying especially if you left your baby sleeping and grandma picks up the sleeping baby and stuck it in)
The annoying part is that she spends most times of the year abroad and when she's around in naija she sweats like no man's business even in ac. Now puts the sweat coated b r e a s t in my baby's mouth. .......no no

Let me talk about the old mama putting the breast in baby's mouth. My mum had this same bad habit. She's tried it with all my 3kids at their baby stages. I complained, threatened and reported to no avail. The day it reached my endurance peak. I said this to her face when I caught her trying to breastfeed my 4month old."my children will never suckling on emptiness and anyone who tries to give them emptiness, my God will descend on them and make sure they go empty" of course she took offence and claimed that I was cursing her but I did not care anymore. I told her to pray about it. Enough said that the parent objected yet you insist on doing it then you are up to no good. After that she never attempt it again. if it were to be my Mil they will call family meeting on our head by the time I am through

Go to the local government office at masha with the notification of birth given to you at the hospital that's all

He's not distressed, he's sleeping longer. He only agreed to eat bread since he saw me touching the nylon. I gave him small with lots of water. And then he was back to breast milk. He did take 60mls of formula tonight before he slept

I think it is a phase. His twin is also doing exactly the same as you have described. She is also not eating as usual and now sleeps at every opportunity. She's been pooping normally, plays well . I was a bit concerned too so I have started her on multivitamin. I pray it blows over soon

Mamas please urgent request. Anyone know or can recommend creche around yaba to ebutemetta. Lo is almost 3months when i resume in 11days time. Im doing daycare cos im scared to hire nanny n leave a stranger in my house.
Next time ill get the nanny like one month before i resume and be observing her till i have to resume.

I will recommend playdays creche and preschool at 54 iwaya road onike yaba. My kids are there in the creche and school. The crèche fees is 25k monthly. They're available from 6am to 7pm and I think there's a fee of 2k for late night pick up

Yaba axis playdays crèche and preschool, 54 iwaya road onike. Very good staff and environment. I use them for my kids. They have flexible hours 6am to 6pm even beyond if you are running late night but at a token. Weekend care is also available

Akorkor the pix looks like dry skin to me. You have also described chaped lips. Is she well hydrated? You can increase her water intake and rub some coconut oil on her skin and lips.

Since you work on the island you can check out Laterna on Oko Awo street in vi. They have a children's section seperate from the main store with montessori products and it's quite affordable

Please endure the hot water, it's for your benefit. It aids with reducing your tummy size, release of lochia and also prevents breast engorgement so your breastmilk will flow. Then if you are someone like me who experience weakened muscles after delivery the hot water massage of the arms, tighs and back gives relief
If you don't like direct contact with water you can use hot water bottles(you will need lots of bottles for this method sha)
Just endure. It's for a few days

Massage them with warm water and towels. Take a lot of water. For the tips use a large syringe to pull them out (you might need to do this several times a day)
Note that regular putting of the baby to the bosoms aids the flowing of breastmilk or you can use breastpump

Ds has been screaming his lungs off since the immunization

So sorry. You will need to pacify him. Use cool or cold water in bottle to roll over the injection site. Remove excess clothing. .if possible leave him in diaper alone. You might have to give him pcm if he starts to run temperature. A warm bath could calm him down. What works for me is that I lay the baby face down on my laps and run water over the baby's back.
Be ready to do a lot of dancing today. It is well with him and you

Does he sound congested like he's got a cold? You can put a few drops of eucalyptus oil in his bathe water and on his clothing in front so he can inhale. Saline drops into his nose if he's got a nasal congestion and use nasal aspirator to suck out loosened mucus
Unfortunately no medication for colds at this age

Giving the baby pcm before the injections inhibits the effectiveness of the vaccine as it causes the baby to have a reduced antibody response to the vaccine.

Pls those of you that have done 6th week immunization, when did you administer pcm? And at how many hours interval?

We took ours last week. I only gave pcm drops when she showed fever after the immunizations. The drops were 0.4ml every 6hours or 4 times a day. Please note that some pcm syrup are not made for kids below 1yr so look at the instructions well before administration. Ensure that the one you purchase specifically stated for babies below 1yr

Please also use cold water to massage the injection site during bath time. Some vaccines cause the muscle around the area to bunch up
