bappahman: The Igbo Delegates Assembly (IDA), an Umbrella body of Ndigbo in the 19 Northern states of the country has called for caution over aspersions against the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, noting that if his administration fails the country has failed. The IDA also expressed its unflinching support for the fight against corruption which they added must be through without sparing anybody no matter how highly placed. The group stated this in a statement jointly signed by its president general, Chief Chi Nwogu and secretary general, Auston Ifedinezi after its general meeting in Makurdi, Benue State. They noted that instead of attacking the activities of this administration on the slightest excuse, Nigerians ought to rally support for the new administration to succeed in the interest of all. “We call on all Nigerians and the world at large to see the present administration under the leadership of His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari as the will of God Almighty and give him maximum support, through prayers, constructive advice, trust, good conduct etc. Knowing that if Mr. President fails, Nigeria has failed and if he succeeds, Nigeria has succeeded. “We are unanimous in our resolve to support President Buhari’s zero tolerance for corruption. We are solidly behind him in his avowed determination to recover the stolen money belonging to Nigeria and the attendant punishment, no matter who is involved. We suggest that the investigation/ probe start from 1999 to date.” The group equally advised President Buhari to give every Nigerian equitable sense of belonging; adding that such could help in addressing the incessant quest for self-determination by some ethnic nationalities as well as religious sentiment which it regretted is fast assuming alarming dimension.

AwesomelyMade: Yesterday evening when I got home around 8.00pm, I saw this young lady sitting in front of a church that is situated right beside my house. She normally sits there almost every evening. She bears a yoruba name.
I said hello and walked up to her for a brief chat. In the course of the chat, She asked me if I'd love to see the actualization of Biafra. I was surprised; I wasn't expecting that question because we were not talking about Biafra. I tried to dodge that question but she repeated it. I een wondered if she was a nairalander to see the heat on here.
When I asked her reasons, she started outlining why she would love to see Biafra. She ended up saying that before 2018, Biafra would come.
The reality is that the quest for Biafra is gaining momentum; all we need to avoid is war. Why would any sensible fellow declare war on group of people who simply wanted a nation they can honestly call home? Unless the persons are moronic Gowon and idiotic Nigerians who were foolishly urged to precipitated war on Biafrans by Labor Party premier of Britain named Harold Wilson. The zoo called Nigeria must disintegrate!!!! |

The worst is the claim of other peoples land like Iguocha and other minority area surrounding Igboland. Meanwhile majority of your people are living there.
The "radio Biafra" I will support is the one that will
1) preach Igbo unity
2) Encourage Igbos to locate their business headquatres in Igboland
3) Encourage good leadership
4) Condemn tribalism and religious intolerance
5) Allow Niger Deltans be and stop the disgusting attache by force.
6) Preach against get rich quick syndrome
7) Embark on scholarship scheme for brainy Igbis from poor background
Let me stop at this 7 as the list is endless.

Politics › Re: Federal Appointments: Buhari Didn’t Inform Me Of My Non-inclusion -onu by Duru1(m): 10:44pm On Sep 01, 2015 |
chiefbamo: Chieftain of the All Progressive congress, Ogbonaya Onu, has refuted claims making the rounds that President Muhammadu Buhari called to notify him of his non-inclusion from the latest Federal appointments. The claim according to a Facebook post has it that Onu reportedly told a friend that Buhari called him that he would not be made the SGF before formal announcement. There had been anticipation that Onu would emerge the new SGF before Babachir Lawal from Adamawa State was eventually named. The Press Statement made available by his Chief Press Secreatary reads Sunny Onyeukwu – ‘’The attention of His Excellency, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has been drawn to a seeming orchestrated campaign apparently originating from the social media to smear his hard earned reputation. On Saturday, August 28, this year, a Facebook broadcast titled “SGF; OGBONNAYAONU AND VAINGLORIOUS NIGERIANS” allegedly at the instance of one Ajayi Temitope, was circulated in the social media without his knowledge and consent. ‘’In it, Dr. Onu was falsely and perhaps maliciously credited as having told an unnamed friend of Mr. Ajayi Temitope in a 35minute telephone conversation that prior to the announcement of appointments into the offices of Chief of Staff to the President, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, among other positions, he (Dr.) Onu was informed by Mr. President of his intended action and why he would not be chosen for appointment as SGF.’’ ‘’The Facebook broadcast further falsely credited Dr. Onu with expressing regrets about how his Abuja residence had become “a mecca of sorts” for those seeking patronage from him in anticipation of his appointment as SGF and lamented that soon after the announcement was made without his being appointed to serve in the exalted capacity, his residence became deserted.’’ ‘’For the avoidance of doubt, it has become important to state in strong terms that Dr. Onu never expressed the views credited to him in the Facebook broadcast as no such conversation ever took place between him and our respected Mr. President. He could not have, therefore, communicated a nonexistent conversation to another person, more so an unnamed individual on telephone. Accordingly, it is false, cheap and utterly in bad faith. Already, Dr. Onu has personally issued a rebuttal on the matter which has been circulated in the social media in a Press Statement dated August 30, 2015.’’ ‘’However, it has become necessary to issue the foregoing clarification in view of ongoing efforts in some sections of the print and electronic media to further allude to the same phony Facebook broadcast without verifying the proof of its authenticity. Needless to add, that, such is capable of misleading the general public, and by implication, injure the well-known integrity and honour which Dr. Onu holds sacred and guards jealously. At this juncture, it is important to recall that soon after the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, this year, the social media was awash with the purported “news” of his “appointment” as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.’’ ‘’Specifically on May 31, this year, a spurious Twitter account surfaced in his name where he was quoted as having “thanked God and the good people of Nigeria for this opportunity to serve”. This was despite the fact that Dr. Onu does not own or operate a personal Twitter account, thus prompting him to disclaim the broadcast in a Statement dated June 1, 2015, which was circulated in the social media.’’ ‘‘As one of the founding National Leaders of All Progressives Congress, APC, it is his conviction that nothing should be done to injure the rights of citizens to free speech, especially in a democracy. However, in the exercise of such rights, care and respect must be observed to ensure that it is done within the ambit of the law, guided by respect for the truth, good conscience and sincerity of purpose.’’ ‘‘It is hoped that in all circumstances, more so in a democracy, the truth should not be twisted to serve pre-determined ends nor should the rights of individuals be muzzled to score cheap political points.’’ ‘‘Finally, Dr. Onu reaffirms his faith in our democracy as the immutable vehicle of popular choice for a new Nigeria, where though tribe and tongue may differ, as brothers and sisters, united in the pursuit of a common destiny, we must continue to stand firm, resolute and together.’’

Gr8amechi: Since I have been on nairaland and read most political posts, I can only help but laugh at how all of a sudden we have become so caring about our own. I am not writing to defend anybody or in defense of any party but to expose our betrayal in the south......
GEJ failed not because he was a southern but because he failed the nation at large. He allowed corruption to thrive thoroughly, at times he appeared clueless sometimes he appeared intelligent but all put together showed he lacked the quality of true leadership.
There had been lot's of out cry about lopesided appointment of the Buhari led government, the question is who do we really blame for our woes?? Is it the north or the stupidity of the south?? Being honest the south in its stupidity and hatred towards her own schemed her own out of the political calculations,
First the senate president would have been from the SE if only they had not allowed their hatred for APC to override their sense of judgement.
2nd because Fashola and Amechi were being considered for different offices of high ranking what did the south do to her own?? We rubbished their personality all because we want to paint them as black horses, few questions I will want to raise; was Amechi more ccorrupt than Uduaghan of delta state?? Is Fashola more corrupt than Tinubu?? But fashola's iimage has been tarnished and may nt be consider for any appointment in Buhari's admin.
I will still bring to our remembrance when buhari appointed an Ijaw to head the amnesty program a group in ND raised up to complain about the appointment of an ijaw man, Finally i raised this issues for the South to stop shouting marginalization no body is mmarginalizing us we marginalize ourselves by hating on our own......
Long live the SS Long live southern Nigeria Long live the federal republic of Nigeria Sai Buhari......

The principle of Federal Character as it relate to political offices is only applicable to ministerial appointments and perhaps Permanent secretaries and directors of ministries. But an appointment directly under the office and supervision of the president is base on his discretion and who he feels he want. Please don't hide under the guise of Federal Character to insult the sensibility of Mr. President and his effort so far. People will always make noise when there is nothing to shout about. So absurd how you folks from the east would rather see the president fail than to succeed.
