Hullabaloon: I finally got my ODU today. It's a brand new version different from the ones all of you are using. So new even the installers had initial difficulty in setting it up. But it's all up and running now.
It has an Ethernet port and cable so I plugged in my smartbox hoping it will work by but it's not. It recognises that ethernet was plugged in but it doesn't show any network.
When I go to network settings inside the smartbox, I see this. Dunno what to input there that might make this work. Or even what to tweak in the router settings

Kindly post a picture of the outdoor device. Is the indoor router WiFi6?
The highlighted on the screenshot is for those who claim MTN FibreX is not susceptible to vandalism. This is coming from the Chief Broadband Officer of MTN himself.
FibreX doesn't just appear in your estate. There are miles-long laid cables that lead to your estate, eventually connected to poles in your estate.
credon: How much is the xiaomi 3rd generation tv box, or the price range
It's over 90k on Jumia. You may be able to get it cheaper on jiji, but be careful on jiji.
Remember, never buy those cheap android TV boxes if you can afford to buy a good one.
The Xiaomi TV box s 3rd gen supports the latest video codecs like Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10+. Also, audio codecs like Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital+, Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD, DTS-X.
It has one of the fastest and efficient SOC's in the Market.
credon: Can anybody please recommend a smartbox that can play 4k videos via usb and doesn't lag when in use for other features
My recommendation depends on your budget. If you want something that will not give you headaches. In fact, one of the best GoogleTV devices around now, then go for Xiaomi TV box s 3rd generation.
In case you are unable to get an adapter with a USB A male, then you will need a USB Type C female to USB type A male converter, like the one in the screenshot below
Hullabaloon: Brethren, I already have the 4g smart box which has been disastrous. It's only the fact it made my tv Android TV that I like.
If I buy the ODU, can I use it to supply data to the smartbox and stream content?

The Ethernet port on the Airtel Android TV device has only LAN out, it doesn't support LAN in/WAN. The only way to send in internet connection is via the USB port, so get a USB-to-Ethernet adapter on Jumia or Konga.
Be carefully, not all of them will work. The two on the left side of my screenshot below will work fine.
funkyrash: do i have to recharge before the plan appears? or i can just log in and go through the steps? (i tried this method, and the 25 & 50k plans didn't show up)
You don't have to recharge to see them. If you're not seeing the plans anymore, then that's another issue entirely. Like @saint2ace mentioned earlier, some lines no longer have the 50Mbps and 100Mbps plans. Contact Airtel to complain.
funkyrash: I don't understand, can you explain better?
If you have an alternate Airtel number, recharge the line with 25k or 45k as the case may be. log it into My Airtel app. Go to Buy Bundles, input your ODU number up there and then go to Data pack
funkyrash: unfortunately, i think this is the case, and then even though the plan hasn't expired yet (expires on Oct 17, 2025), it's still not working. on top of that, the 50MBPS for 25K plan isn't showing anymore, only the 20MBPS plan for 30K is available on the app for the ODU device's number.
If you have another Airtel line on my Airtel app, try to use it to activate the data to the ODU line. Mine still shows the ODU plans, like data gifting.
I have used over 300GB so far and it's been good. The only challenge I have is that network in my area isn't too good. Sometimes, I have to switch it to '5G Only' when 4G becomes very poor and Vice versa.
Hullabaloon: Has anyone used their ODU more than 2 weeks? Been going through people's experiences on Twitter and 90 percent of people are saying it becomes frustrating after two weeks.
green10119: Bought it from the USA, I understand the full capacity issue right now, but can i go to cotonu if that's possible for me then activate it and come back to change the address, will that work?
I am not sure, but I think if you bought it in the US, it needs to be used for at least 90days, that's 3 consecutive subscriptions, or 120days since you purchased it in order for it to be eligible for use in another continent.
The first condition is if you bought it from Starlink website. The second condition typically applies if you bought it from a retailer unactivated.
Tover: Every1 that are having problems with Airtel network issues, should try this settings
in your internet settings, change your network band to 7... U can also check the bands one after the other to know which one is better, after that go to the settings , you will see 4g settings.. change form 4g lock to Wcdma and press okay
Pls let me know if it works for you because I have helped lot of ppl in my area with the settings and they are enjoying it
You can check the video for a better understanding
I watched your video simply out of curiosity. 'WCDMA Only' means '3G Only'. That's why your speed is poor. 11Mbps is extremely poor, especially when you have an unlimited plan.
Network is horrible in my area too. In fact, I can't get that 11Mbps anywhere within my house. However, after the installer installed the ODU router in a strategic position close to my roof, I am now getting 80+Mbps on 4G.
nams77: What I wasn't cool with was the fact that he wasn't even aware she was 17. What if he did ask and she lied, will be still be culpable?
The mother of the girl is evil. She waited until she and her daughter returned to Britain before informing the Dubai authorities about the sexual incident, because she knew if she had reported to the authorities while the daughter was still in Dubai, her daughter would have been arrested along with the boy. That's the law in Dubai.
ijeezlux: The pics below is the hynetflex router model am using. It was flawless. But I notice it works better and faster with Lan connection than Wifi connection.... It has 6 Lan port
It's actually 4 Lan (yellow) ports. The gray ports are for telephone. Initially, when MTN started selling the device back in 2018, they used to bundle it with a free desktop phone that reads the sim from the router.
Also, if you have the new Airtel ZLT router that is bundled with the 5G ODU, it works perfectly with Starlink, and it's WiFi 6, very fast, and has 3 LAN out.
saint2ace: The Airtel X25 pro 5G router works just fine and still transmits at Cat6 speed. Just make sure you pre-configure your User ID and password before connecting and of course remove any SIM card. Also works as an extender when paired to other routers via LAN.
Have you used the Airtel X25 pro 5G with Starlink Gen2? because I have the router and it doesn't work with it. It tells you there is no internet. I have tried it with and without bypass and it's the same thing.
I have had the pictured ZLT router since 2022 and it doesn't work well with Starlink. I have tried it with and without bypass mode and some devices would have internet access, especially those connected via Ethernet, but those connected via WiFi would not. Maybe it's because I am using Gen2 Starlink. I haven't tested it with Gen3 v4 or Mini.
However, I also have the ZTE in my screenshot below. It works very well but it only has one LAN out
akinremedy: House please, is there a way out for anyone who has exhausted his Airtel sim registration slots to register new sims aside going to unlink those numbers at Airtel offices? Someone said if you retrieve a number that it will free up a slot. How true is it?
This is not true. The only way is to delink it. However, if a line remains dormant for a period of 180days, the system automatically puts it into a pool of numbers to be recycled, this automatically delinks it.
fuckboys: i swear the x25pro is a better and a more powerful device than the ODU. Just look at the bands on this guy.
Especially if you bought the first x25pros that was unlockable.
There's no point having all those bands in Nigeria. The 4G bands you see in my screenshot are the bands that covers all the service providers in Nigeria. We only use N78 5G band in Nigeria.
NSEstudent: You bought the esim version or physical Sim version?
Like i said, my device has both. They originally registered it as esim and when it failed to come up, i was asked to come back for a swap to physical sim, which they inserted into the device.
