Misplaced priority of our leaders. look at the structure of a university hostel. Yet they borrow billions to build a stadium that is put into use once a year. The Uyo Stadium cost over a billion naira. it is already being overgrown by weeds now I guess.

New UK Unit Will fight Corruption and Boko Haram

I never knew that Nigeria has become an extension of the UK. The UK anti-corruption agency will be the one fighting corruption in NIGERIA, and their Military will fight BH(another Iraq). So what is the use of Buhari in power when the UK is to take care of our domestic issues? Nigerians should have been told that we are the newest British territory.

To think that paid APC trolls are hailing this is pathetic, and more pathetic that President Buhari saw no shame in retweeting it.
I wonder how the statement "how we could best help Nigeria to fight " will translate to how we will fight for Nigeria. English language my friend.

Excellent topic by OP. This is what we expect to see on FP, Not PDP/APC ego. As you can see bad governance knows no party, no religion, no ethnicity. Solubu rightly pointed out that no benefit can be vividly seen from regions that produce the president in the last 15 years. Bayelsa still remain one of the least develop state 6 years after GEJ at the top. We most demand for good governance at all levels.

As much as I will like to free the first Lady.... The watch will continue to make us question the poor image Buhari fed us.

Personally, I knew it was just like the "I had no shoes well played" . We Nigerians are often too emotional and once a politician appeals to our emotions we throw caution to the wind and become a follower.

No ex leader of Nigeria can ever be poor after they leave office even if they continue to dash people money. Aside the mega allowances they get while in power, they get much more when they leave power... Did I say leave power, I meant when they vacate the office as they never leave the corridors of power.

The handlers of Buhari's campaign did a very good job.

You need to always identify with the the masses, wonder why all these music artists cum celebrity always come up with touching stories like.... I used to hawk gala and ice water, I was a conductor, I almost committed suicide...just like our comedians will also say we poor die when I was young but una dey stay for Lagos. The real poor folks still dey village now
First of all you did not vote for Buhari. secondly, Buhari has never portrayed any "I am poor" image, you can only say people perceive him as being incorrigible. not being corrupt does not translate to being poor. And if you compare all these watches that made you think he is rich with what people that held similar position with him, you will agree that he is indeed poor by that standard. Bottom line most people didn't vote for Buhari because he is poor. they voted for him because of his anti corruption stance, and I don't see any indication to believe that my wife wearing a 10 million watch as a former president indicates that I am corrupt.
FamilyRe: A Cheating Husband Is Not The Worst Thing That Can Happen In Marriage. by dvee2: 8:50am On Jun 05, 2015
Amya:
Coming from a pseudo-feminist, it shouldn't be all that alarming.

I was reading a thread yesterday about a young women who tried to commit suicide because she found out her supposedly perfect husband was cheating on her. If she were my kid Sis, I'd have dashed her free slap for that stupidity. This same lady was just justifying her husband's actions when after an argument he pushed her so her hard she banged her head on the edge of a glass table (in the risk of a permanent head injury). This same lady condoned and even justified her husband hating her OWN mother for the flimsy reason that she made some strong recommendations while they were planning their wedding. And suddenly she finds out her husband had a plethora of runs girls at his beck and call, and she overdosed on pills! You've got to be kidding me!

Now, I know my opinion on cheating males is going to be hugely unpopular amongst the female folks in the house (especially the married ones who for some reason think their life's happiness is tied to their spouse's fidelity). I'm also not making excuse for the male folks for cheating, I'm just trying to be realistic about this society. For some reason, men cheat. Most men infact. The sooner women realise this, the happier marriages will be. Sex is not love. To men especially (and me too) sex is just a function that can stand on it's own independent of love and even affection. It's like eating.

Don't be 100% sure that your husband is not cheating or will not cheat on you. That will be living in a fools paradise my dear. It has nothing to do with how pure or holy you were growing up. let's lower our expectations as far as marriage is concerned, and I bet you you'll have a happier and fulfilled marriage.

Or you can always choose not to get married. Divorce is also an option.

Yeah, Yeah I know about the bringing another woman into the house or infecting HIV to the poor innocent wife. Yeah let's hope your husband is sensible enough to not commit to these ladies and he's not stupid enough to not use protection.
Its very hard to justify cheating, but that's the plain truth. One of the oldest surviving Hollywood marriage- will smith and jada pinket, the wife gave the same advice to married women recently, do not police or monitor your husband, for a man, sex and love are two different things, a man can love his wife to heavens but still have side chicks just to satisfy his physical desires. a word is enough for the wise.
FamilyRe: Please Save Me From Myself, My Husband Cheated On Me, I Tried To Kill Myself by dvee2: 6:02pm On Jun 03, 2015
plaetton:
My dear op, I sympathise with you.
We can only imagine the shock you are going through.

However, in the broader context, I want to say a few things, a few bitter truths to the general readers of this op, especially the women folk.
Before I go further though, let first say that I am neither a male chauvinist, player, insensitive nor immoral person. I am just one who studies and often come to terms with human nature, biological and social evolution.

I am always quite surprised when I see women shocked by cheating boyfriends or husbands.

The bitter truth, which I tell all my female friends, is that all men are predisposed to be non-monogamous.
Culture, social landscape and economics can either mitigate or exacerbate this predisposition.

Yes, a man can do his best at self control for as long as is possible, but the force of nature is hardly contained for a long period of time.

Speaking from a man's point of view, there are two types of infidelity. Infidelity of the heart, and infidelity of the body.

Now, in op's case and in majority of the cases, the man loves and adores his spouse, but his body is still unfaithful, bodily nourished by mercenary flesh vendors. This is an act of nature for which there is no cure, no mitigation whatsoever. undecided
I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

A man, at one any point in time, with the right opportunity, will grab something on the side, irrespective of how much he loves, adores or is in harmony with his partner. This is a very hard pill to swallow.

I don't know how to repeat this without sounding sexist, chauvinistic, selfish and cruel (things that I am definitely not), but it is unrealistic to REALLY expect a man not to play away match for the entire length of " till death do us part ".

My point is that it is nature, not a moral question for males.
No woman should kill herself over this.

What should the op do right now?
I am not competent to advise.
You beat me to it. Its difficult to accept but that's just the plain truth. you either accept this fact or pretend your man is not cheating as many fain to do. move on to 100 other men and you would be more disappointed. so the question is, does your man still loves you? if yes, remain and open a conversation with him. The key question here is this: Is it infidelity of the body? if yes there is hope. Is it infidelity of the hearth? if yes, there is a big problem.

Bollinger:
Let me tell you a story. George W Bush, was at one time the most hated man in America. He was hated more than Jimmy Carter and Nixon, which, to Americans is a big deal. He was singled out as the main reason the economy was tanking and why the country was spending close to 1 billion a month fighting two wars. Unknowingly, it was his vice president pulling all the strings and leading the president in the wrong path. Yes Bush was that stu.pid. It was so bad that Americans would have voted a Russian as president to lead them. Then comes this brilliant, slick, handsome black guy who knew how to say and promise the right things. Americans were hooked. To them they had seen enough suffering and were ready for CHANGE. Obama wins the presidency and his true agenda comes to light; the gradual transformation of America into a semi socialist state, the destruction of the middle class and the gay agenda all for political gain. Now, Obama is probably the most hated President ever.

I have said it many times. Nigerians have selective amnesia. Most Nairalanders are like 12 year old who don't realize that what is happening with Buhari, happened when Obasanjo came into power as a civilian. People were so tired of Military rule that they were ready for CHANGE. I remember we used to say that Nigeria's time had come. I mean, this was a guy who was on death row and had a miraculous rescue. To add to that, he was being prepped to be president. It was like a fairy tale. We all have seen the end result of that blunderous mistake.

The same thing is happening again. Jonathan phucked things up so badly that Nigerians are ready for anything and anyone to take the helm of power without examining things closely enough. Buhari is a man, who under normal circumstances would never had made president, but because Nigerians are so desperate, they let unreasonable expectations, false hope, and naivety erode common sense. The guy is smart though; he knew Nigerians weren't desperate enough, that is why they never voted for him in previous elections. NOW WE ARE. Don't get me wrong, Jonathan is no better. He probably the dumbest we ever had, but the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know. But in Buhari's case, we know the angel, and you'all still voted for him. I can guarantee you, what happened to America, under Obama and the democrats will never happen again in America. You can already smell the CHANGE over here. In the last elections, the Republican party swept almost all the seats. The worst thing you can ever do is make a life changing decision when you are desperate. That is how 419 thrives; they hook you when you are desperate and have unrealistic expectations. Can Nigerians ever learn from history?
You are just a loser for believing the Republicans cooked up story that Obama is a failed president. America was in a recession when Obama took over and it's now out of recession with increasing jobs statistics every month. Obama passed the affordable care act which several president previously could not do thereby benefiting the poor and middle class. Don't come here justifying the racist republican mantra of Obama being a socialist. I doubt if you know the meaning of socialism. Finally at least you accepted that Gej is a failure. But you will rather we vote in a failure than take a chance.

Great article.

It will be unfair to blame madam okonjo 100% in this situation. We had a brief oil boom during GEJ tenure and she advocated we save more for the raining day but our pot-bellied governors thought otherwise.

All our past leaders should bury their heads in shame.

Our current economic woes is not a product GEJ 5 years tenure alonr but a cummulation of failed leadership in the past and present.

To get out of this mess, the legislators must agree to a pay cut and also review the 9bn that will be spent for house and car allowances. We just need to start from somewhere. It can't be business as usual.
People keep saying our economics woes is not a product of GEJ forgot that we had a brief period of economic oil boom during his sting and he squandered it
It's an opportunity for our nation reset given to him because he had no shoes but he squandered it
