naptu2:I'm not quite sure. It was Ojugbana's version of taxi driver that drew me to Bobby Benson. |
jnrbayano:Good recall I don't know her name or whereabouts. |
naptu2:Oh yes number 18. Taxi driver That song is just sublime. |
naptu2:That's good. Taxi driver by Bobby Benson I guess you forgot that. |
Very good list. Perhaps it should have been named 150 best classic songs and the list should be "in no particular order" because it is really difficult to put some ahead of others. I believe I've listened to all the songs and I'll make a playlist out of this. Some child stars like the girl that sang I'm going to school to learn can be slotted in. |
A covert terrorist group is brewing. Soon they will start killing people and bombing places perceived as being unislamic. |
What kind of sick country is this? Is Kano exclusively Muslim? Is a non-muslim adult Nigerian living in Kano not constitutionally permitted to take alcohol? Who owns the drinks being destroyed? |
dukechilezie:Lavatories hahaha! So apt. |
What is special about a common thief driving himself. One of the most corrupt politicians in Nigeria being shielded by Buhari because he financed his campaign. Yet Buhari goes about claiming to be fighting corruption. I can never take this government serious if people like this roam free in the corridors of power. |
APC is violent and clueless. |
Absolutely Not! It is well known that the best students speak their mother tongue fluently. Ability to speak one's mother tongue as first language helps you think critically and analyze other languages from a vantage point. |
This is so wrong. A six year old denied the love of parents and made to live like an animal. |
Rossikk:These are the 30 most globalised cities in the world chosen from different regions. You are the one living in denial here the quality of life in Lagos is abysmal compared to world standards and you don't need any ranking to even deduce that. We should seek for ways to improve it and not blaming others for our flops. The indices for assessment are clear. Even if the list added twenty more global cities Lagos will still sink to the bottom. |
Stilt in clothes. His forearm looks like it would break if the wind blew hard enough. Wonder how he made it through the army. Anyway he didn't even have the basic requirements to get in so what am I saying he would have used the same means to get out. This may not have mattered too much if he had any iota of leadership skill but he doesn't. |
mayor2013:Toyota and Honda has had the most recalls in recent times. |
GAZZUZZ:Why the personal beef with Nissan. They do make some very good cars and are more willing to take risks. Everyone is now going CVT after waiting for Nissan to take the bashing. Not fair. |
Rossikk:The cities chosen are major regional centres of commerce and population. If you look closely you will notice that all subcontinents are represented Milan is the major economic centre in Italy, Berlin for Germany, London for UK, Madrid for Spain, Amsterdam for Holland, Moscow Russia and Stockholm for the Scandinavia and these are Europe's largest economies ; NY, LA, San Francisco and Chicago with Toronto and Mexico city for North America Sao Paulo, Rio, Bogota for South and Central America. Johannesburg and Lagos are the major players in Africa. Cairo may have been included and it will still beat Lagos. Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jarkata, Seoul for SE Asia Mumbai, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo for Indochina and Japan. Dubai for the middle east. Sydney for Australia These cities were carefully and purposefully chosen because of the regions and countries they are within and their unique diversity and some were left out to avoid duplicity or because they were not seen as global enough. |
Rossikk:30 global cities were chosen. |
The study was conducted on 5,200 well- educated, high net-worth adults. Cities were rated on factors including their culture and infrastructure. Lagos in Nigeria was rated at the bottom of the newly published list of 30. London triumphed in a new study of the world's greatest cities, leaving close competitors Paris and New York in the dust. Rated on a variety of factors including its culture, entertainment, infrastructure, health and general happiness; the results were determined by 5,200 well- educated, high net-worth adults from 16 countries around the world. The poll, published last week by consultancy firm PwC, was conducted in December 2015, before Britain's shock Brexit verdict. Paris was the runner up, scoring top with regards to cultural influence, including attractions and cultural trendsetting, and was in the top-three-ranked cities in terms of entertainment and cuisine. New York, which came third, was viewed overall as the 'leader' for its economic influence and ability to provide easy access to capital. BEST PERCEIVED CITIES 1. London 2. Paris 3. New York 4. Amsterdam 5. Sydney 6. Berlin 7. Tokyo 8. Toronto 9. Stockholm 10. Los Angeles 11. San Francisco 12. Dubai 13. Milan 14. Madrid 15. Chicago 16. Hong Kong 17. Singapore 18. Beijing 19. Seoul 20. Backward country. Where anyone can catch and kill any animal. |
Jonathan will always be remembered in African and indeed world democracy. He reformed the electoral process in Nigeria making it more difficult to rig without it being obvious. Prior to him elections were a big joke in Nigeria. He gave INEC true autonomy. He entrenched freedom of information and did not hound the press or opposition. These are the rudiments of true democracy that confer power to the people. |
Looks quite original. |
Ridiculous display of primitivity. |
We can have support for someone without embracing sycophancy. Buhari made a monumental blunder and no amount of wordplay can reverse that. His statement was demeaning and unexpected from a president. The action from him is to apologize or clarify his statement. That is what great leaders do. I wonder where Hillary would have been if Bill said she belonged to the kitchen. |
Are buying new or used? |
This is totally unacceptable. We have no regard for wildlife. Pythons are essentially harmless to humans. In fact they are very useful in keeping the rodent population in check and thus help to minimize the burden of the disease these rodents may harbour. We encroach into their habitat and go ahead to kill them off, but this is just inviting trouble. |
Is that the ploy? Hound down judges perceived to be sympathetic to the opposition and replace them with stooges that will obey your every wish. Buhari is a tyrant. |
Abagworo:I like your sarcasm, keep it up. |
Any country whose executive starts toying with separation of powers and starts justifying unlawful raids in the guise of arrest while flaunting laid down rules of how to tackle the judiciary is sliding into tyranny. Nigeria is fast descending into tyranny. The fight against corruption is highly targeted and selective. While some of the most corrupt Nigerians like Amechi and Tinubu are overlooked and rewarded with positions despite gross evidence against them, others in the opposition are being hounded to death. We then wonder why our economy is not making any progress. Buhari is replaying the same old script that led to his ousting as military president. The fight against corruption is supported but must not be selective and must be done under the rule of law. |
MadCow1:We are running a democracy here not some autocracy The case is in court and the executive must respect that. They have no right whatsoever to armtwist the people into submission. It is despicable. It doesn't matter how they feel about it, their duty is to make the best of the court decision whatever it is. |
The same silly mentality of APC at the national level is being reproduced here. The people have a right to make decisions on issues based on what will benefit them. It is the government's duty to carry out those decisions in the best possible way that will augur well with everyone; Or give way to those who are capable of doing so and not victimize the citizens that gave you mandate to lead. Case in point is BREXIT. |
twilliamx:Here we go again. That road has deteriorated drastically in the past 15 months. As it stands now the Enugu Onitsha and Aba Ikotekpene roads are the ones that need the most urgent attention in the country because of their state and the traffic they carry. Just like the Benin Ore road which needed very urgent attention and received it. If the FG is to construct any federal road in the country at this point it should be those. If you are alright with being stuck in the past forever instead of tackling the present situation and looking unto the future then good luck. |
