laudate: 'One-sided' in what way? The man's wife was alive & present in the house, when they came to arrest her husband, o! At the scene where Pam was executed, there were soldiers who watched the act being carried out. So witnesses were present. The man was driven away from the house and the conversations continued beyond there. The person narrating the story is the son who remained in the house along with the rest of the family. I have said that I condemn the coup but I still remain firm in saying that such narratives cannot be held as concrete truth. |

I wonder the aim of this thread.
And what makes a one sided narrative from a witness who apparently has omniscient and telepathic powers ( he was upstairs and heard all the conversations including the ones that took place kilometers from the house), to become concrete truth.
I condemn the coup and the cold blooded killings but we should never accept one sided narratives as plain truth. |

Car Talk › Re: Avoid Common Driving Errors by eaglechild: 8:15am On Jan 13, 2017 |
If a vehicle is trying to overtake one on a single lane and is in a compromising position, it is safer to slow down and let it, especially if you notice an oncoming vehicle. (No matter how annoying the overtaking driver is).
Also same applies to the oncoming vehicle who should slow down.
Refusal to do so is a common cause of fatal head on collisions which a simple ego break can prevent. |

Essentials1: i saw that DaySpringer complimented the Op writing skills although I wouldn't consider this story a good write up curvyibogirl...
I consider this story you are sharing as simply a life experience and not a short novel.. I consider it as something that was written the way it happened subtracting the laws of writing...
I wouldn't consider you having good writing skills because just anyone can do what you did if they can tell a story about romance and/or which what most Nigerians want to read...
But am in no way condemning you... am telling you that If want to consider writing ad a hobby, as an art ( that is as an expression of yourself) or on a professional level.. you should read further on this and produce a writing style which this story lacks and also implement the laws of writing...
There is a lot I want to type here but I will live you to ponder on this for now Your second paragraph negated all your crticisms. For you to consider a probably fictitious story to be a true life experience shows that the writer is indeed very good. Kudos OP, keep it up. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Recession Hits Churches As Incomes Dwindle - Trudigest.com by eaglechild: 11:50am On Jan 02, 2017 |
It is sad people no longer comprehend what they read.
The bishop has stated that the burden of helping out destitutes has greatly increased putting the church under financial strain. Also church institutions like schools and hospitals are faced with increasing burden of writing off bills which means that the self sustaining nature of these ventures is becoming threatened.
The Catholic church is foremost a missionary church whose form of evangelism is targeted at providing a holistic care that can transform and empower converts.
Which means schools, hospitals, orphanages, asylums etc to provide basic needs not just for the less privileged but the general society. These institutions are usually set up from charities of members but once started are made self sustaining to enable payment of staff and general maintenance. When students can no longer pay fees and patients can't pay bills, what it means is that staff and infrastructure suffer. When charity from members reduce, orphanages, old peoples' homes and and other asylums suffer. |

Shouldn't it have been NAFDAC or an agro- scientific agency that should have done a thorough analysis ? Thanks a lot. They seized the rice after cooking it and enjoying a sumptuous meal. The name of the snake is Black Mamba
You don't wanna come in contact with that evil
In 2009, i did an experiment with the poison extracted from it's mouth, i mixed it with human blood, the result was scary, in just 2 minutes, it froze the blood
And for the people saying that it's a king cobra, how old are you guys ?? Even a 4 year old kid can tell you how cobras look like but you guys stupidity is amazing
Cobras have flat hooded heads
There are scarcity of cobras in Nigeria
The only cobra you will find in Africa is the black-necked spitting cobra, and it's only in Mozambique
The second picture i will attach is how a cobra looks like
You are very wrong and have misled a lot of people. The hood is NOT PERMANENT in a cobra but usually appears when the snake feels threatened. That snake is NOT a black mamba. It is an AFRICAN FOREST COBRA.

Nairaland General › Re: A Snake Killed At MOUAU Fish Farm (Photos) by eaglechild: 5:34pm On Dec 05, 2016*. Modified: 2:04am On Dec 06, 2016 |
That is NOT a black mamba and it is not a KING cobra.
However, it is an AFRICAN FOREST COBRA.
It matches the size and the dorsal striations.
Also another pointer is the habitat. They like water and are deemed semi aquatic.
Cobras will expose there hood mostly when threatened so absence of the hood in the picture does not rule out a cobra. It is a forest cobra.
