Is the authority now supplying better weapons we will like to know.

Can you post the various costs of anti insurgence fighter jets, helicopters and other weapons.

GEJ and those directly and indirectly linked to him might be viewing. This can help motive them to buy since we know that some military logisticians and weapon buyers do inflate figures just to steal.

The DSS and Military should fish out the OP and close this thread as a matter or National Security

Of all tribes and regions in Nigeria, only one is having problem(s) with everybody...
If its not Igbo Vs Yoruba, its Igbo Vs Hausa. If its not Igbo Vs Hausa, its Igbo Vs Ijaw...not forgeting Igbo vs Ikwerre etal.
Even nature is not happy with them. The ijaws were/are blessed with waters, fishes, petroleum resources, port and strength among others. The Igbos are cursed with erosion, genetical criminalism, brother killing brother, internal hate, unfavorable land for farming, unfavorable brain for sound reasoning and heavily landlocked.

Ignore them because if we are to face them, their kits and kins in Ijawland won't be spared(they know how Ijaws handle them) as we don't believe in e-chest beating! We aren't Yorubas that are "too" tolerating, this they knw

Parasitic bunch...to them education is having special centers to accumulate high grades without any impact on the society..

Gowon is an Angas man

Despite being a former president, most people do not know a tribe called Angas exist.

Which might be the reason why Gowon is still holding tenaciously to his illusion of One North. Even claiming that fulani herdsmen are not the ones killing people because they are small boys.

After GEJ if the Ijaws antagonizes the Igbos who see them as brothers, I believe they will go into political oblivion just like the Angas. And it won't do them any good to return to militancy when they can unite with others to get their rights without resulting to armed struggle.

EducationRe: Federal Universities Should Have Tuition Fees - Pro-Chancellors by EasternLeopard: 7:27pm On Jul 06, 2014
bushdoc9919: What did you expect?

Last year ASUU went on strike. Part of the strike demands was that govt gives extra cash to the universities....to fund not only salaries...but also facilities.

GEJ, Mr Wike, and Mr Wogu told them that they did not have the money. Instead of the N3trillion offered in 2009.....they offered N1 trillion over 5 years. ASUU was forced to agree....and thus the journey to high fees was embarked upon.(Guess you are wishing ASUU held out instead of giving in so easy, huh?).

The truth of the matter is, corruption or no corruption.....there isn't enough money for Nigerian universities anymore. Or indeed any other tertiary institution. That is why ASUP is still on strike, and polys are closed.Mr Wike told the Senate a few months ago that they had actually agreed something with ASUP ages ago...but when the agreement was put in front of the Salaries and Wages Commission,it was rejected out of hand.

The truth of the matter is that we can no longer subsidize Nigerian tertiary education. We just don't have the money..
Our educational system is faulty and no amount of money invested into it will rectify it.

If we teach students btw primary 1 - university level 2 on how things work, are produced and designed using real/computer videos through projectors or flat screens, the technological products that will be developed by these students when they get to the universities and patent by the universities will generate lots of money to fund the universities without increasing school fees.
PoliticsRe: The Proposed 18 New States And Their Capital by EasternLeopard: 7:08pm On Jul 06, 2014
mikolo80: you guys may want to look at setting up industrial clusters around the universities.experience is the best education
Good point but I have a less costly solution.

It is time we introduce

1) real/computer video teaching materials to help makeup for lack of good but expensive workshop/laboratory equipments we lack in our universities.

Where real workshop/laboratory teaching materials are almost non-existant,real/computer video materials are better when compared to existing teaching materials.

2) Basic engineering-technology into our educational system starting from primary 1 - University level 2. This will focus primarily on how technological products work, are produced and designed using real/computer videos to teach it.
PoliticsRe: The Proposed 18 New States And Their Capital by EasternLeopard: 6:23pm On Jul 06, 2014
bushdoc9919: You are being riddiculous.

I live in the FCT. There is the ornate capital.....and there are the underdeveloped surrounding villages and satellite towns .

And one more thing....development is not the number of buildings you build...it is all about using your local materials to make life better for your people. Like the Japanese student who developed a portable mechanical harvester to help Japan's farmers...most of whom are getting old. Or the Sierra Leonean in the US who is developing a new form of bionic legs for amputees....due to the high number of amputees in his country due to the wars of the 90's.

All these inventions means more jobs, more industries, and more employment in their localites....which means that thelocal govt develops better roads, and better infrastructure to supply the new industries developed by the inventions of these guys.(and hundreds of others).

But you Nigerians think that development is in the number of nice houses and buildings you build. So you create states so that you can build nice capitals and deceive yourself that you are bringing development closer to your people. Then several years later, the buildings start to look run down...and the money starts to run low....and you people will be busy heading to Abuja to fight for more chopping money.

You won't use the existing state structure to force your governors to work for you. You won;t use your degrees to look for the problems in your locality and sort them out.....so that jobs get created...and the local govt is forced to develop supporting infrastructure. No,you just want nice ornate buildings, and nice universities , etc....that you would be hard pressed to fund years later.

Better start developing...instead of looking for oil money to chop.
Gbam

But you fail to realize that Nigeria has a faulty educational system that churn out technically deficient students that can not develop their communities technologically which is why people go for better cities believing it will attract outside technological development which their technical deficient knowledge can't provide for their communities.

Bros me and you get serious talk concerning engineering-technological education in Nigeria.
Reply me through quoting my comment If you agree that both of us should open a thread on it and link it to possible good potential impact on socio-econo-political progress of Nigeria.

Orlando Owoh: If I have my way I will scrap the existing 36 states, and create 6 regions. The composition will follow the existing 6 geo-political zones with minor changes. These are their capitals:
1. North East - Sokoto.
2. North West - Kaduna.
3. North Central - Ilorin.
4. South West - Lagos.
5. South South - Port Harcourt.
6. South East - Enugu.
Rubbish

Do you know that apart from SW and SE all other geo-political zones are made of several ethnic groups which is a source of conflict eg Idoma vs Tivs.

So state creation can help to reduce ethnic tension
