You're ignorant with very low IQ. No car manufacturer produces all its components 100%, not even Toyota, not Ford, not BMW! They all produce some where they have comparative advantage and concession others.

No, Nigerian company indeed, does Nigeria has another indigenous car manufacturer aside Innoson?!

A church rat who can't even afford to buy Camry tiny light thinks he has an opinion on Africa's most successful indigenous car marker. Innoson does not need poverty stricken people who live in plastered mud houses with rusted roofs, when the federal government, most state governments in SE & SS, NNPC, individuals and private organizations, Ecowas countries etc. are already patronizing them.

Yorubas are never good in technology or how to be innovative and produce goods and that's why you're envious and bitter.

PoliticsRe: Guinness Nigeria Moves Headquarters To Ghana Amid Harsh Business Environment by EastisBae: 5:18pm On Mar 12, 2022
Dsalvo:
Not correct. They have been clear in denying a move out of Nigeria and denouncing it as the work of "faceless persons purporting to be property agents".The whole rumour was likely started by scammer looking to dupe gullible land/property buyers.

Guiness are actually consolidating on their investments in Nigeria. They are moving to a new head office and not to "Headquarters" in Ghana or anywhere else.

Still amusing you'd say the part in bold though. Do you think Guiness is a Ladipo spare part shop that can afford to be duplicitious in action and speech over what is inevitable and would become reality?

There is more to life than you limited, myopic and ignorant understanding of it.

I dont know the worth of 'citizen' who, without minimal checks, only ever want to automatically believe everything negative about their own nation.
Even when corrected you continue to insist the negative claims, unsubstantiated in the first place, are correct.

https://www.businessamlive.com/guinness-not-leaving-nigeria-investing-more-creating-jobs/
Now, I understand why Nigerians are easily scammed. Check all the quotes you highlighted, is there anywhere they answered the question directly?

Guinness has continued to say they're not living Nigeria when the question being asked is about their headquarters. Are you trying to say they don't understand the bone of contention here or they can't explain themselves well?

They simply dodge the question by saying they're not leaving Nigeria. Of course, how on earth will anyone imagine they would leave Nigeria with all their assets here and market share? But they can relocate their headquarters to Ghana just like Michelin and others did while still making money in Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Guinness Nigeria Moves Headquarters To Ghana Amid Harsh Business Environment by EastisBae: 5:09pm On Mar 12, 2022
SmartPolician:
There's no way Guinness will relocate its headquarters and deny it. For what exactly? This is fake news!
Damn it, you guys are not reading in-between the lines! Of course they didn't deny it and neither did they accept it.

Now, let me make it clear to you what they did, by trying to be smart.

The question is: Guinness, are you moving your headquarters from Nigeria to Ghana?

Now, see their answer: we are not leaving Nigeria, people should disregard those wicked rumors bla bla bla.

Can't you guys understand that moving your headquarters away from Nigeria to Ghana is a totally different thing to Guinness leaving Nigeria completely?

The fact they dodged the question already shows they intend to move their headquarters to Ghana! Otherwise, they would have categorically answered the question with something like: no, our headquarters will remain in Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Guinness Nigeria Moves Headquarters To Ghana Amid Harsh Business Environment by EastisBae: 9:41am On Mar 12, 2022
adekanmbi1986:
Guinness released a statement that the publication on the subject is false.
You must be very gullible and easy to decieve. The argument is that they've moved their headquarters to Ghana and even in the press release, they never denied it, instead they kept using bogus words to dance around it.

FYI, Nigeria is their biggest market in this region and most of their assets are in Nigeria too, and no investor will abandon its biggest market to rivals! However, when you move your headquarters away from your biggest market and asset base to another country, means the bulk of your taxes, logistics, recruitment etc will be conducted there and that's a massive loss to Nigeria.

Secondly, it is a vote of no confidence on the economy, and could signal other investors to stay away from Nigeria.

That you're not seeing the tragedy in all these shows you're missing the bigger picture.

Two Nigerian languages out of four is quite impressive.

However, diaspora Igbos are not so passionate in speaking the language outside our homeland and there really should be a serious advocacy on this. We can't have such a rich culture, tradition and history yet shy away from our heritage.

That's why I like Indians, they have a terrible accent yet it doesn't make them to stop identifying with their language.

Igbos are certainly among the top 3 greatest African ethnicities. Men, we are doing exploits in virtually every sector of human endeavor! Even our technological advancements as far back as late 1960's during the civil war was unprecedented in Africa.

Prior to the colonial rule, we were also advanced in blacksmith and cloth making, two of the most important industries of that era.

Yet, instead of haters in this shithole to celebrate us they rather chose to be envious.

PoliticsRe: Kperogi's Skewed Reasoning And The RCCG Directorate by EastisBae: 10:08am On Mar 11, 2022
DukeOfNigeria:
[s]By Ezechukwu Christian

Labelling Farooq Kperogi a journalist is nothing but ridicule to the noble profession. You cannot be a journalist when all you spew is lies and fake news. He has no sense of duty to carry out basic fact checking. Even an 100 level student at the Nigeria Institute of Journalism will do better than Farooq, no wonder all the students that have passed through him at Kennesaw State University have come to nought.

Away from the questionable character to his ludicrous attempt to tell everyone and every organisation what to do and how to do it. His latest rant was a hole-riddled, pre-school outburst directed at the Redeeemed Christian Church of God and the decision of the church to set up a Directorate of Politics.

As it is with fickle-minded folks like Kperogi, this was done mainly because of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo. You will recall that Kperogi and his minnions have said that APC will not zone its presidential ticket to the Southwest, so on what platform will Osinbajo be contesting, if we are to take this garbage by Kperogi seriously?

Before we come to that permutation, does this so called journalist realise that for Osinbajo to emerge APC candidate, he needs to go through a party primary? How many RCCG members are delegates in the APC? In fact, how many RCCG members have voters card?

Kperogi's religious mediocrity and sentiments which is often the bedrock of his directionless articles was brought to fore again. He quickly tried to make it a Christian vs Muslim thing, not knowing that many Muslims are rooting for Osinbajo already.

I'm not a Catholic and not a big fan of Osinbajo or the RCCG but for how long do we want to continue with this type of hate-induced narrative?

Is Kperogi aware of some of the things the VP has been doing in the north for years? Does he think these poorly written articles will change the minds of thousands of Nigerians?

I will advise him to stick to the issues but like many Nigerians we know he is incapable of doing that.

For now, I will urge more religious outfits like RCCG to set up similar directorates. Even more important, is to teach governance.

We need to educate our people on how government works, who should we hold for what and how can we make Nigeria better.

As for Kperogi, he can stay in the US and be barking orders at the RCCG as if they will take him seriously.
[/s]
Kettle calling pot black! Imagine someone accusing Kperogi of not understanding the tenets of journalism yet he wrote a rubbish epistle that is lacking in both substance and principle. I was reading to see this writer counter what Kperogi wrote with superior argument only to see trash.

IT'S ABSOLUTELY MORALY WRONG FOR RCCG TO CAMPAIGN FOR OSINBAJO. WHAT HAPPENS TO THEIR MEMBERS THAT ARE STAUNCH MEMBERS OR FOLLOWERS OF OTHER PARTIES/CANDIDATEShuh

You should be focussing on Abia, Imo Anambra ,Enugu Ebonyi if I were you, cause all the Riverine Subgroups in Rivers state consider themselves ijaws and they are all members of all ijaw group and none of them are a member of igbo group. Unlike the uplander the ikwerres., Etches and co who hate the Igbo tag and will kill anyone who labels them Igbo, aka Wike and his ikwerres people (Oyigbo massacre) comes to mind.
Who's boxed in a corner now lost Jew? wink
Honestly, I always find it ridiculous when I see ijaws trying to compare themselves with Igbos in anything, that's the height of foolishness!

Talking about development, be it human resources or infrastructural, is there any basis for comparison? Why are you guys do deluded?

Even Ebonyi that was created same period with Bayelsa have gone far ahead of Bayelsa despite tiny Bayelsa receiving far more allocations! The rulers of Bayelsa from the time of the criminal called Alameseya to the current one, all deserve to spent the rest of their days in jail.

Here are a list of Igbo cities in no particular order; Enugu, Owerri, Onitsha, Aba, Nnewi, Umahia, Awka, Asaba, Abakiliki etc.

Now, can you name at least 2 ijaw cities?

In terms of every other aspects of development, Igbos are light years ahead of you ogogoro drinkers. Look all around you and see Igbos doing great things even their in your mangrove swamps. From owning oil companies to malls, car manufacturing to Nollywood, commerce to industry, education to sports, and even in global affairs like leading IMF, ICC, Commonwealth etc.

If you aren't so dense in the head, you should have known there is no basis whatsoever to compare ijaws to Igbos! Aside doing despicable things like oil bunkering, gatemen and pipeline security can you tell me any area ijaws can be said to have proven their mettle?

The fact which you and your never do wells don't want to accept is that till the end of time, ijaws will never be able to achieve 5% of what Igbos have already achieved!

You have raised a good point, I said on the other thread if Owerri city residents are willing to pay 1.5m for a standard shops, is it an office space in tower that they can't afford??
I believe strongly that a few skyscrapers of about 10 in number will sale in Owerri, some in old Owerri and the rest somewhere in new Owerri.
A skyscraper is urgently needed in Wetheral road or Bank road. Any investor that will have the courage to do that will make massive ROI because all its floors will be taken!

Any of the investors building those 7/8 floor hotels around New Owerri can use same resources to build 15 storey office building. Even some years ago, people used to argue that high-rise buildings with lift can only be viable in Lagos and Abuja but today, most of the new standard hotels in Owerri all have lifts.

If I have the money or can personally get investors, I will build such skyscraper around Wetheral but it's just that people are waiting for those that will start it so they can join the bandwagon.

boyfrank:
Anybody who have the resources should build it. But understand that we need constant electricity and water supply b4 skyscrapers. What happens when power is interrupted as we often have? The elevators get hung.
Is there any serious business in Nigeria today that does not use a standby generating set? Are you aware that when people use a centralized power generating system they end up paying less individually?

When you a build skyscraper in a CBD like Wetheral road, you will definitely attract big/successful brands, particular those that use light throughout the working hours. For instance, if a company like MTN or bank branches spend 1 million naira monthly on diesel and EEDC, when they share such resources with others, they will leverage economies of scale and end up spending much less!

Another huge advantage is that, such a building will become a melting point of economic activities and any business located there will attract more customers than a similar brand located elsewhere. Someone that wants to go to a bank will rather go to the one located there so they can do other things like going to an eatery, paying their pay TV subscription, or other brands like MTN, GLO etc. without leaving the building. The result? Less stress and less expenses!

That is why you see everyone going into real estate of building bungalows and one storey buildings in places that so far from the city center, with very poor access roads. Instead of doing that, why not pull resources together and build blocks of penthouses with minimum of 10 storey each, within the city. Then sale the flats to individuals if you need to recoup your investment fast? This is what is obtainable in other progressive cities and countries, why do Nigerians see it as rocket science?
