Ttalk: You are not wise, Nigeria doesn't start in 1999 dude neither democracy. The first Nigeria president after independence was an Igbo man, stop robbing it on all other ethnic groups who haven't tasted power since independence Which power did the SE enjoy. You mean the ceremonial Presidency of Zik? Ok, Shagari from the NW ruled in 1979 and yet the NW have produced two President in Yar’adua and Buhari and one Vice in Sambo. The NE ruled with Tafawa Balewa as Prime Minister and yet Atiku returned as Vice under ObJ and contested for Presidency severally. The SW ruled under Shonekan and took power with Obasanjo Presidency and Vice under Osinbanjo. The SS was lucky to rule as Vice under Yardua and took Power as President with GEJ. The Middle-Belt/NC ruled in Military capacity for more than 30 years. But the SE have only gotten there as Deputy, First with the ceremonial President of Zik and later with Ekwueme as Vice. The only time the SE wielded power was just 4 month with Ironsi military junta. So for fairness and equity, the SE deserve the Presidency. |

onumadu: The OP assumes that the South east governors actually care about their own people rather than their personal interests.
I've learned over the years to not trust Igbo politicians particularly the governors (or even presidency) until they show their hands.
A lot of Igbo trusted Jonathan and thought he had a plan until they found out that he had none, except for himself -soft landing out of Aso rock.
A lot of Igbo also trusted PDP until the party demoted Igbo steadily till they lost out even the Dep. Senate president position.
This race to the bottom will only ensure that the presidency stays in the North forever.
Who will stop Miyetti Allah from stealing our land if we play this type of politics? The Yorubas have the VP position today, but the Fulanis will take their land before they even dream of taking Igboland.
The best politics to play is one whereby you take over your land. It doesn't matter what happens in Abuja! You trusted the wrong people and got scammed. When last did you trust with your brains instead of your heart. Imagine the comment. Did GEJ tell you to trust him? Did he understood what you are going through as an Igbo man? He only went there for his people and empowered them in every sphere. What benefit was GEJ Presidency to you an Igboman? And yet you supported stupidly without weighing your interest. Was PDP an Igbo party or a party dominated by strange bed fellows? You were willing to trust others but not your own blood and you got burnt. So why complain? |

So you know Nigerians should vote just any credible candidate, yet some of you have been putting pressure on the North not to contest in 2023 while mischievously citing need for equity as reason why power should return to South. But when we remind you that the SW has been president twice and vice president twice since 1999 while SS has tasted VP and Presidency within that same time frame, and so therefore for real equity it should be SE presidency Agenda in 2023 and not be thrown open for the other two zones, you all suddenly change music. Igboid: Interesting scenario. Well, if they open Calabar port, which if you remember lost out to Lagos port at the colonial days as the port of choice for dredging by the British, Cross River will also benefit. Calabar port is also closer to the North than Lagos port. I remember they were planning a super highway from Calabar to Maiduguri some time ago. Maybe Ayade is after all looking out for Cross River interests by sitting on the fence too. Cross Rivers politics is deeper than face value. Just leave them and focus on your own battles. They’ll sort themselves out. |

Igboid: Are you sure? I think Ugwuanyi is the chairman of PDP governors forum.
Why do you think Ayade is pulling out from SS too? Maybe he is positioning Calabar port? Or to recover Cross River oil that Akwa ibom won some time ago? I mean many believe that Oron should have been part of Cross River. What do you think? Ayade has never hidden his anger against the ceeding of Cross River oil wells to Akwa-Ibom. But he's wasting his time if he thinks the Supreme Court will retract it's judgement. Akwa-Ibom owns that oil well by virtue of Bakassi going to Cameroon. This was where Donald Duke failed the state. The only thing that will give Cross River the edge is if she fights a battle that returns Oron to them. I don't know if they have this agenda in mind. But if they do and follow all legal processes it might be a mini referendum as Oron will find lapses in the constitution that pushes them to Cross Rivers. And that also might see Ogoja agitate for a separate state from Cross Rivers as well as, Oron joining Cross-River will push the Efik block into majority. But that's their business as it doesn't concerns me. My interest lies in Imo boundary adjustment case with Rivers. |

I can't wait for us to pull this off.
This VAT war better not stop. Rivers state government have always known that Oyigbo and Egbema will be returned to Imo state some day. Any wonder why the state government aside from Amaechi never thought it wise to spread development to these axis. Mbakwe would have won that battle had Rivers not being governed by NPN which was the ruling party of Shagari. Mbakwe was in NPP and there is no way you’ll expect a rulling party not to support a fellow party stalwart by shutting down it's main cash cow for elections. Imo began getting it right when PDP ruled the centre. Obasanjo didn't do much but promises as both Rivers and Imo belonged to the same party. It was Yaradua who made the difference. He just saw the injustice and gave the oil wells in Imo territory sapped by Rivers to Ohakim. But Uzodinma is moving forward. He knows Imo has the ace and is pushing Mbakwe’s agenda of retrieving Oyigbo and Egbema to Imo. Once Egbema moves to Imo, the rest ONELGA towns will be in disarray. The same will happen in Etche once a few communities in the dispute is added to Imo. |

Ugwuanyi is more like an air head, I don't expect him to have an opinion. Obiano is a serpent, he will agree with Umahi. Uzodimma is a supreme Court governor in fight with Wike for oil Wells, he will be against supporting Rivers and SS. Okezie Ikpeazu is in same category as Ugwuanyi.
Every thing being equal, SE governors will maintain neutrality or support FG . Fingers crossed. I just checked, Ugwuanyi is now the chairman of the SEGF if I’m correct. But it changes nothing. |

Unless he won't be in that meeting then the opposite will happen. Supporting Wike means backstabbing Uzodinma’s efforts. The SE needs to choose her political battles wisely. How important is VAT to you than boundary adjustment. If Imo wins that case, it will kick-start a ripple effect never seen in this country. It will end identity crisis politics in Rivers state. I will lose hope totally in all of them and give my support fully to IPOB. You’re following your emotions again. And who told you IPOB is fighting for Igbo interest? Know this and know peace. IPOB, MASSOB and BZM are anti-Igbo. Relegating Igbos to the background was the intention of those who formed IPOB and that has been happening since 2001. Why am I hearing stories of her siding our enemies? What's her plan? Mary Odili will always side her husband who is the benefactor to Wike. Fingers crossed for SE governors meeting press release tomorrow. Who is the head of the South-East Governors forum? A lot of political battles are rearing their head. A lot of talking point. And I think since 1979, this is the first time Igbo leaders are putting Igbo interest first. From 1995 till date, it was usually a pattern to support the south. BKayy: You know that what triggered all these is the boundary adjustment issue that saw FG favouring Mr Supreme with the oil wells that are supposed to be in Imo in the first place. Wike in a bid to get back at FG because the very existence of the confusion in Rivers is to stall Ndigbo came up with VAT as a means to water the loss.
Lagos wey be mumu come put mouth thinking that since Rivers which they calculated would be the only option to water their VAT by reopening Onne Port (rivers) is in the game forgetting that there is Warri port (Delta state). You now see why Okowa didn't waste time to sustain the heat?
In all this, if they win it will be a prryhic victory because 1. Lagos Port monopoly will be ended 2. Warri and Onne Port will be reactivated to Punish Lagos 3. Serious boundary adjustment will occur in Rivers state to punish Wike. This will favour Abia, Imo and Anambra. 4. To make the reactivation of the ports Viable, access road to favour the ports to the main destination of what used to come from Lagos port (SE) will be laid.
So you see. Its all win-win for us. If the states lose. FG will most importantly punish Lagos by reopening only Onne which will turn Wike and Sanwo Olu from allies to competitors, then facilitate the Oil wells destined for Imo state to Imo State and more. Though this one won't bring a big benefit for us but its something atleast. Thats why we pray that Wike and Lagos win. You hit the nail. And why is this issue not discussed in Igbo groups? I thought Slayerforever opened a closed Facebook group to that effect. It's obvious both Uzodinma, Umahi & Obiano are following this neutrality case seriously. Obiano and Anambra recently benefitted from being added to oil producing states. Umahi is focusing on Igbo interest as regards a lot of burning issue. Uzodinma is not joking with the boundary adjustment to retrieve both ONELGA and Oyigbo from Rivers state. And the Supreme Court judgement for boundary adjustment is coming up this month if I’m correct. I also noticed that Imo state Governors from Udenwa to Uzodinma are following the template began from Mbakwe who started the battle to reclaim Igbo border communities handed to the SS. Wike my smart Governor, seeing that Rivers might lose the oil wells battle to Imo decided to play smart with the VAT distraction. It's obvious Uzodinma is not taking non of that. |
