Politics › Re: The Egbema Is A Subgroup Of The Ijaw Tribe. by Eastlink(m): 5:31pm On Oct 13, 2021
giftibo:
The Egbema is a Subgroup of the Ijaw tribe, having 9 Subclans,
Namely Ajakurama, Pulobubou, Ofunama, Ogbudugbudu Jamagie, Opuama etc.
This 9 Subclans of the Egbema kingdom have over 200 villages and Hamlet's under them.
These Egbema people were Balkanized into Edo state, and Delta state.

[s]The Egbema of Rivers and Imo, that travelled to the area they are due to the fishing nature of the Ijaw tribe, during the days of old, and that was balkanized into Rivers and Imo are same people with this Egbema of Edo and Delta.
They are all Ijaw people, but the Rivers and Imo Egbema have lost their Language due to Igbo acculturation.
They have Opuama in Egbema of Rivers and Imo
And Opuama is a Subgroup of the Egbema of Edo and Delta too, meaning big town.

All Egbema people are Ijaw people[/s].
I allow drunk people wallow in their delusion. You are lucky I didn't see this thread early enough. Else the mental patient that opened this thread would have known that Egbema as a community is Oru/Isu Igbo proper. Those we share kinship are those from Oguta, Ohaji, Ogba, Aboh, Ekpeye, Ndoni, and Oru's in Imo. We have even Egbema people in Ekwusigo LGA in Anambra and some links with people from Ogbia, Nembe/Brass.

And if the Egbema people in Delta have any truth in their history, they would have confessed that their ancestors were Oru's who sailed from the Niger river to that present destination before the arrival of Portuguese cannibal boat people from Togo.

tamdun:
SS always vote for pdp
Don’t mind him. Since 1999, the SS has always supported the PDP. Except when Edo went to ACN with Oshiomhole and later APC.

For the SE, they’ve danced between PDP, PPA, APGA and APC since 1999.

1. Anambra have been in the hands of APGA since 2008.

2. Imo have danced in between PDP, PPA, APGA and APC. Imo is the most liberal and politically enlightened state when it comes to SE politics until recently when the indigenes began following MNK sheepishly.

3. Abia has been a PDP state except when Theodore Orji had a 4 years stint with PPA (thanks to OUK).

4. Ebonyi has been a PDP state until Umahi decamped to the APC

5. Enugu is the only state that has remained exclusively PDP since 1999.

For equity sake the PDP owes Enugu a lot of debt while the APC owes Imo a great degree of debt as well for their support all these years.

While all these were happening, the SE has been voting the PDP in the Presidential elections, except when a few sympathy votes was given to Ojukwu with 1million votes in 2003 under APGA. Yet Obasanjo still won over Ojukwu with mass rigging by clanish godfathers in the SE.

The whole thing starts and ends online bro.
The Farmer in Ezza village doesn't know what someone wrote in nairaland.
But you will never convince her that any one else is more of a kinsman to her than fellow Igbos in far away Anambra.

I was once travelling to Taraba on public bus and our vehicle stopped at a remote place in Northern cross River in the night.
I alighted to buy something, and noticed that the girl in the shop was speaking an Igbo dialect I was struggling to understand.
I asked her if she was speaking Igbo with my Anambra dialect, she laughed and told me yes, and quickly switched to speaking to me with central Igbo.
The mum came and she introduced her to me, she was happy to see me, I bought soft drink and all and sat in their shop to drink.
I could feel the love and unity with them, they told me they are from Izzi and came to that village 10 years ago

I have across the length and breath of NIGERIA, all I receive is love from Igbos in those locations once they hear you speak Igbo.
It doesn't matter the part of Igboland you come from.
The kind of Unity and love Igbos show ourselves, no other NIGERIAN group have that, and it scares the hell out of them.

Nigerians are confused about Igbos.
One moment they tell themselves that Igbos are too tribalistic and segregative to non Igbos and would not embrace you if you are not one of them.
At other times they tell themselves that Igbos are not United grin
Yeah, you hit the nail. Clearly explained.

Yes! I see them. They are pitching Igbos against themselves in their dreams.
When they are done, they should step offline to Igbo cities and towns and watch the truth stare at them.

Umahi understand the Igbophobic sentiments that unites all NIGERIA.
If telling them all the bad things about Igbo they want to listen to, is his own strategy at playing the national politics, then I'm fully behind him.
Let him tell them more, the joke is on his non Igbo audience. Umahi and all of us know the reality on ground.
No Igbo town/village would as an entity choose NIGERIA over the rest of the Igbo clans scattered in five SE states, including Rivers, Delta,Cross River and Benue.
I understand anything can happen. But after going through that fake news. I want you guys to be on guard. But I’m simply wasting my time as the rest Nigerians now know how to press Igbo button. And when they do so, trust the emotionally charged Igbos to dance to their tune. Especially IPOB dudes.

Cc Igboid. Hope you can observe the new trend of threads with anti-Igbo and trying to pitch Igbos against themselves. I just saw a fake post with a fake link on Umahi due to the VAT resolution and other recent Pro-Igbo stance of the Governor. If Slayerforever, Bbkay and other so-called Biafran loyalist can be easily fooled to insult the Governor, it means you people have a long way to go.

I expected the Wike’s, Lagos-Ibadan expressway dudes and Ijos clowns to launch all their monickers in this new wave against the Igbos. But too bad we have a lot of uneducated daft speaking for Igbos in the cyberspace. IPOB intelligentsia and their PDP Igbo loyalist with no common sense. I recently blasted one Fadhiga mumu who opens thread with his several monikers to tarnish Uzodinma while appraise the likes of Wike and Diri. You need to see the likes the clown got from suppose Igbo who can't see the stupidly in that post. If you fight Uzodinma who is simply in a boundary battle with Wike and appraise the same Wike who is a huge disgrace, then there is a problem somewhere.

Ovamboland:
You forgot Azikiwe threw away the chance to be first Prime Minister to be become first president (ceremonial) but his boys became Senate president and first VC, first Army Chief.

In 1979, Igbo also became VP and speaker at the same time, 9 years after civil war, leaving Yoruba that did not lose a war in the cold. Then in 1979, your people bragged how far they've left Yoruba behind in playing politics.
Igbo pushed for Presidency in 1979 as we threw all our weights behind Zik’s NPP. And NPP won the two Igbo states of Anambra and Imo. And also added Plateau and Borno state. The NPP Governors were Jim Nwobodo, Sam Mbakwe, Solomon Lar and one other Borno Governor who later joined a faction to form the GNPP. The NPP did well in that election but fell short of 3rd behind Awolowo’s UPN due to a clean sweep of the SW, Lagos population and wining Bendel state with Ambrose Alli.

Rivers state and Cross River that should have rallied behind NPP, unfortunately supported Shagari’s NPN. Now during that election Igbo became the beautiful bride. Awo picked an Igbo as VP, while Shagari had to appeal to Alex Ekwueme an Igbo technocrat in London to support him by implementing smart ideas in Government. Ekwueme wasn't a politician but had almost all the Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate you can imagine. Bachelors in Architecture, Bachelors in Engineering, Bachelors in Law and name it and studied every Masters degree and Doctorate in England. Festac architectural design (By Obasanjo), Ajaokuta Steel, Tradefair, and the development of other huge project done by Shagari’s government is a testament of Ekwueme’s sagacity.

Now for Speakership. Edwin Umezuoke got the position due to Shagari’s NPN allowing the oppositions a part of his government of national unity. Zik’s NPP accepted the Speakership position while Awo UPN castigated Shagari and even called for a coup until 1983 when Buhari/Idigbon fulfilled their prayers. Rumors went out that Abiola sponsored that coup.

The scenario that made Uwazuruike take bribe is happening all over again. Please can someone remind me the whereabouts of Ben Onwuka, has he gotten settled and escaped out of the country secretly so that no one can hear from him again.

Uwazuruike was detained and spent like 4 years under brutal hands of Obasanjo in the dungeon. It took Ohaneze led by late Chukwumerije and the South-East Governors to plead for his release. Uwazuruike had to go underground having realized that the victory of seccession in Nigeria is not by giddy giddy (Apologies to the Nairaland IPOB minister).

Now MNK after being released by the Igbo leaders went back to London to continue where he stopped, only to be ragdolled from Kenya like a thief beaten with slaps. I tell you, mark it now. That before 2023, MNK will negotiate his release and you won't hear from him again. Na who enter Sanko dey tell the colour of jail when he reach area.

Don't be silly.
Now get this. NIGERIA is rigged to favor the North.
But if we keep fighting the North, the North will keep giving SW and SS crumbs from our own share, which they would all happily accept and call us fools and see no reason to stop the North.

So what do we do?
We crash the game.

We beat them at their own game.
We help the North become eternal masters of NIGERIA.
We let them take everything that belongs to everyone, we stop fighting them so that they stop rewarding those two zones.
We stop fighting the North and the SS and SW will nolonger have something to blackmail the North with to offer them crumbs.
You see how Ghana must go was shared to Clark and co when you IPOB became too vocal with your Biafra stuff? Yes! That's the game. The more you fight the North, the more those people are important to the North, so they win little and you lose alot. It's a pattern that has been on repeat since 1970. Zik understood the game better, hence the success of the 1970s we enjoyed politically.

We let the North have everything.

Let all man feel the heat.
Let all man queue up in turns to serve as the VP for the North for the next 100 years. grin
Any one from the South who dare challenge the North, we let them burn alone. cool

If the North come up with squashing 13% in the future as Crude oil become less money spinning, we play neutral and let those involved carry their own albatross. If they rebel and the North send soldiers there, we stay neutral and let them handle them.

We sit back and let things flow.
This freedom must not come in our lifetime.
It's not an Ozugbo ozugbo things.
That's the mistake you IPOB are making.

There must be a long term vision and plan.
This is where the Yoruba’s have the edge. Even the Ijaws I must confess have understood the game. Every ethnic group is planning and positioning themselves for the worst except Ndigbo. IPOB and their thuggish attitude of it must happen now or everything burns. Where is MASSOB and Uwazurike who began the it must happen now? I guess they’ve fizzled out.

Strategy will kee you there. I am reading your conversation with the yorubas. Who are you going to align with politicallly in that dungeon to get political relevance which is it's presidency? Who? What will vice presidency of the dungeon do for Igbos? Which ethnic group, yoruba, north and even SS will align with you to let you climg to the dungoen's presidency?

Why wouldn't you dumbos learn that you have no future politically and otherwise in that dungoen? They are only pretending to be looking at your way now because of the activities of IPOB which they are afraid of. If IPOB was not here to cause mayhem for them, they wouldn't have had any consideration for all you Igbo political fools that never learn. Yet you want other Igbos to follow you in chasing shadows year in, year out.
Get your useless heads out from that turnel, for there is no road there. You want southern alliance to win presidency, so if finally you didn't get it from yorubas, then what next? So you are dreaming of the dungoen throwing both APC and PDP ticket at you Igbos like they once did to the yorubas in 1999 and recently to northers in 2019? Stop dreaming. The faster you understand that your case in nigeria is always different, the better for you.

All you Igbo political foolish dreamers should stop disgracing Igbos. You are the ones these other nigerians look at and call all of us mugus whom they will continue to chop every election year, because they have swonr that an Igbo man must never rule over them. And you want us to continue waiting for them until they change thier minds about you? Which year will that be? There is no hope for Igbos in nigeria, both political and otherwise.

The only way is Biafra or Biafra through IPOB way. Soon, just very soon, APC and PDP will nominate their 2023 presidential candidates and you all fools will come back here to cry IPOB should help you to sit at home to crash the dungeon. I am sure by then you all will change your handles and become anonymous. Brainless foolsih zombies, repeating the same idiocy every 4 years and yet, expecting differnt result.
This is how you go about deceiving Igbo youths. So you want Igbo to keep wondering in the political wilderness of fighting for Biafra while the following continue to happen for year's to come.

1. The continuous balkanization and shrinking of Igboland so that the minority land grabbers can continue to lay claim of Igbo territories.
2. Census apathy so that the SE will continue getting peanuts while Kano, Oyo, Katsina, Borno, Delta etc continue to collect lion share of allocation.
3. No election, so that the SE will be governed by administrators sent from Abuja for the next 50 years until Biafra comes.
4. No representation, so that the SE will continue with 5 states while others add up their own due to population census that the SE refused to participate all thanks to sit-at-home order.
5. Operation burn down Igboland so that Afghanistan and Somali becomes more economical friendly than the SE.

I’m not stopping you from agitating for Biafra. You can agitate in peace so long you don't become a monster or tool use to destroy all what our Father’s toiled to build after the civil war. You can burn down your home as example, but don't bring that fire to my home.

I merely used Jonathan to illustrate a particular point which you really didn't grasp.
That point is that politicians in Nigeria these days mostly care for PERSONAL interests, except Buhari who has stood by his Fulani group, and is willing to destroy even the whole country just to snatch your ancestral lands and hand it over to them.
Question is, when you get VP position that you are indirectly asking for, how will it stop Fulani from taking your land?
Jonathan was president for 6 years, what exactly did he achieve for his native region?
My submission is that we should focus on taking over our land, which is very much within our powers.
Everything else can wait.
Have you ever seen me play second fiddle. I’ve said it here countless times, that any Igbo politician asking for VP should be disgraced and banished out of Igboland. The Presidency as it stand favours the SE more than any other region. And until you get vocal about it and do the politiking we’ll always hang in the peripheral. It's better we fight for it and fail and re-strategize strongly next time than act the coward and be trampled upon.

Your analysis shows Igbo have had it's share in Presidency.

Your analysis even buttress the fact that SW is as qualify just as NW did during Yar'adua having produced Shagari from same region. You mean there is no equity by having Buhari who just like others is from NW?
You want SW to take Presidency come 2023 to the detriment of the SE. It's always your nature to be greedy by rubbing shoulders with the NW by applying their greed for power in the south. But when they ask you to match words with action and stand alone, you begin to look for selfish @Southern Unity”.

Remind me the last time you stood alone in the political battle against the north.
1. Operation Wetie
2. Arrest and imprisonment of Awo
3. June 12 and Abacha political assasination of your tribesmen.
4. 2023 will reveal the answer if you don't know when to quit that greed

While we have gotten our share of misfortune with the Biafran war, we know when to use our head and understand the game. We know the political process in Nigeria is skewed in favour of the NW/Fulani hegemony, and until the country is restructured or balkanized nothing will change.
