Douglaufuoma: we should not be emotional with issues in this country. first the sss were wrong, but this media stunt is very wrong. if it was to be ur phone or account number that was clone u will shout to the high heavens, that is they say show me ur friend and I will tell u who u are. this s d reason why criminality will not end in our society, cause they know people will always fight for them. a major reason y our security agency are being compromise today. What is your point exactly? That an ordinary citizen deserves to be cold heartedly killed by security agents whether as a suspect or not. Are you extolling extra judicial killings. Cos I don't understand your post |

If you swallow this codswallop that the prison officials are spewing out, then you're either shallow or just indifferent. We all know how authorities here in Nigeria lie through their large nose whenever there's a problem :school authorities, the police, the military, large corporations. It's preposterous and unimaginable, even prisoners in first world countries do not demand for four pieces of meat. And they had to kill six of them. This country is sick from the foundation. |

I've lost hope in this assemblage of deranged sadistic humans called a country. Imagine that poor lady who died in acute pain and agony just because of a dysfunctional health system - someone must have embezzled funds meant for procurement of hospital beds It's only in an insane country that police officers bearing arms would be allowed to be ingesting alcohol while on duty. We've shouted ourselves hoarse that we need a total overhaul of our policing system - but do we have leaders? |

WriteBoy: The Case for the Inclusion of Youth in the Governance of Nigeria.
All my life, I have heard various Nigerian leaders pout the maxim that youths are the leaders of tomorrow. I think that’s just glib talk and mouth service. Our leaders do not believe in any of that. They only fall back on nice sounding maxims when they need to court popular opinion.
Same Old, Same Old
Every elective season, I am saddened when the faces that have being holding elective positions before I was born are the very same people who come out to contest. Since 1980, the political class in Nigeria has largely being unchanged and that’s a thing to be very worried about. To excel in political positions, there is need for the occupant to have both ideas and experience. Ideas would bring forward schemes that could impact on governance while experience would show the leader what works and what doesn't.
The continued absence of youth from major elective offices in the country portends a grave risk: When they finally get elected to office, though they may brim full with ideas but lacking experience in the intricate operations of our Nigerian bureaucracy may stump them. This is because they lack experience. So there has never being a more opportune time to drive up the inclusion of youths into the running of this country than now. There’s an urgent need to steer bright young talents that we have into public service so that the nation may benefit from them in the years of their prime and not when they have become jaded by the vicissitudes of life.
I watched the news in awe some days past as the MP’s from Hong Kong stood up for they believed and not they Mainland Chinese government would have them. That was truly inspiring! I wish for our Nigerian youths to become that brave. Question is, do Nigerian youths really have what it takes to seize leadership from the aged ones? Isn't it the same Nigerian youths who praise-sing corrupt unscrupulous politicians online, who engage in tribalistic warfare on online fora instead of tabling constructive ideas? Isn't it the same youths who constitute NASS, one of the most corrupt, depraved and avaricious group of deranged youths in the country? Or youths whose major preoccupation is to engage in Internet scams and post pictures of IPhones and fake gold wrist watches on Instagram. |
Politics › Re: 2019 Political Alignment: Dear Politicians, We Are No Longer Gullible by ebby9z(m): 7:33pm On Nov 20, 2016 |
The major problem is our political system. It's s flawed and problematic. It fertilizes corruption and greed. We are in a country where to contest and stand a chance of winning, you need to contest on the platform of a major political party, and before you can be allowed to even smell the platform, you must kiss the asses of godfathers, grease delegates palms and spend a fortune on campaign. Therefore, for a youth or a technocrat to emerge as an office holder, he either joins the bandwagon or simply loses the chance to win. |

Phagyrhe: Lol....Am sorry I didn't include twitter. But I do have a twitter account. I screened it out because its influence on Nigerians can not be compared to Facebook on that list. Half of Nigerian twitter accounts are inactive. However, if you insist on the contrary view, am sorry once again that I didn't include it. You obviously do not use twitter. How can you undermine the influence of Twitter in Nigeria? |

It's because of the wire netting barricade newly erected in the middle of the road. You can't possibly climb over it, so you're left with no choice than to use the bridge. Moreover, that's congestion not stampede. Oxford English Dictionary is less than 1500 |
