If you can brazenly beat a person up like this, pour gasoline and burn a fellow human being, then you are a hardened mean human yourself.
Justify it all you can, jungle justice is barbaric and primitive suffice it to say these same people eulogize and worship corrupt politicians who causes more cataclysmic damage to their lives

All this publicity won't do him no good...

It's certain that once you can't proof beyond proof that the person you are trying to prosecute is guilty beyond reasonable doubt, then the person should b given the benefits of the doubt.

Instead of all this bickering, why don't he appeal the judgement, or why do we have three tiers of courts?
It's obvious you don't understand a thing you're saying. He's the prime witness not the plaintiff. It's the public prosecution department in charge of that

The stench of your verbal excrement is murderous. I wonder why you people revel in ethnic bigotry and excessive tribalism. You jump into a thread and instead of doing justice to topics, you launch into a barrage of hasty generalization about a whole tribe. What has education taught you?!

Touché. The quantification metrics for intelligence nowadays are that for one to be recognized as an intellectual Titan, one must be involved in the sciences, literature, or politics. How ridiculously parochial and hide-bound!

It's a crass misconception that one is ultimately seen as a dullard because one's interest(s) lie outside society's prescribed boundaries of intelligence -- that was why I descried the OP for adjudging her to be dull.

On this same thread, some guy claimed he cut off connection with a girl because she did not know about Arab Spring. Are these persons not weltered in immaturity's stew?
How in tarnation's flames does being none the wiser about Arab Spring ever become a fly in a person's intellectual ointment? LOL. I'm forced to believe Nairaland is a feast of the bizarre; an aberration-palooza wherein the barmy party-troopers constantly grapple with each other on who can make the dottiest comment. grin

...

Marilyn Monroe is purportedly believed to have possessed an IQ of 168, yet she was only an actress and a model – two occupations we've been socially-engineered to believe are exclusively reserved for dumb blondes and nitwits. Such unprintable balderdash!
...

Your points were quite cogent; OP should try turning his girlfriend in closer approximations of what he wants her to be. He can only hope that she doesn't consider it to be manipulative, thus giving him the rough edge of the pineapple and putting an end to the relationship.
Your grammar is too plenty cheesy grin cheesy

Finally a thread on this issue! I thought I was the only one suffering from this dearth of intellectualism in our ladies here.
I dated a law girl then back in school and was always encouraging her to read books, watch intellectual movies, listen to news and all...I did it as mildly and humanely as I could but eventually she turned back on me and told me to live her like that.
I can't for the life of me enjoy myself around a lady I can't discuss anything intellectual with. Not history, not politics, not music, not science...just dresses, make up and snapchat.
It's bad even while chatting. You bring up several conversation materials that you feel they can relate to and when you're exhausted and mentally drained - they definitely won't contribute but only respond like it's an interview - then you just end the chat.
Our ladies need a mental revolution. Most of them are too obsessed with their faces and ignore their brain.
EducationFinland Will Become The First Country To Remove Subjects From School Curriculum by ebby9z(op): 10:32am On Nov 11, 2016
Finland Will Become the First Country in the World to Get Rid of All School Subjects
Finland’s education system is considered one of the best in the world. In international ratings, it’s always in the top ten. However, the authorities there aren’t ready to rest on their laurels, and they’ve decided to carry through a real revolution in their school system.
Finnish officials want to remove school subjects from the curriculum. There will no longer be any classes in physics, math, literature, history, or geography.
The head of the Department of Education in Helsinki, Marjo Kyllonen, explained the changes:
“There are schools that are teaching in the old-fashioned way which was of benefit in the beginning of the 1900s — but the needs are not the same, and we need something fit for the 21st century.“
Instead of individual subjects, students will study events and phenomena in an interdisciplinary format. For example, the Second World War will be examined from the perspective of history, geography, and math. And by taking the course ”Working in a Cafe," students will absorb a whole body of knowledge about the English language, economics, and communication skills.
This system will be introduced for senior students, beginning at the age of 16. The general idea is that the students ought to choose for themselves which topic or phenomenon they want to study, bearing in mind their ambitions for the future and their capabilities. In this way, no student will have to pass through an entire course on physics or chemistry while all the time thinking to themselves “What do I need to know this for?”
The traditional format of teacher-pupil communication is also going to change. Students will no longer sit behind school desks and wait anxiously to be called upon to answer a question. Instead, they will work together in small groups to discuss problems.
The Finnish education system encourages collective work, which is why the changes will also affect teachers. The school reform will require a great deal of cooperation between teachers of different subjects. Around 70% of teachers in Helsinki have already undertaken preparatory work in line with the new system for presenting information, and, as a result, they’ll get a pay increase.
The changes are expected to be complete by 2020.
How I wish Nigerian leaders could just think outside of the box and set a legacy for the unborn generation

According to our EFCC source, an initial check of the phones showed that the embattled justice was using different phones to communicate with her suspected accomplices perhaps tutoring them to lie to investigators about the source of her inexplicable cash transactions. The source said the phones retrieved from the judge would also be sent to experts for forensic checks.

Forensic check my ass. The silly EFCC are a clueless bunch of idiots!! They seized my two phones sometime in January for 'forensic checks', a blackberry Z10 and an infinix zero. I smiled, went home; locked and erased the phones remotely. The so called experts were asking me to come and unlock the phone for them. Bunch of jokers

Nairaland General"You Are Thieves! " Angry Customers Slam GTB For Shadiness. by ebby9z(op): 3:22pm On Nov 01, 2016
Twitter users condemn GTB for poor service after the bank posted an inspirational tweet from their official handle.
An inspirational post tweeted from the official handle of Guaranty Trust Bank which says, "You can be angry, mad, sad, happy, but it's never necessary to be rude. Always have manners. 'Please' & 'Thank you' will get you far in life" saw several Twitter users attacking the bank and berating the mode of operation of the bank which they said included incessant deduction of money, ineptitude and unprofessionalism on the part of their customer care representatives and other "unethical" practices.
Below are snapshots of the outburst on Twitter.

I see a lot of comments here and I'm disappointed. The girl made an error which they can easily reverse...provided she has not used from the credit. The reason organization have CSR dept is because of cases like this. The agent only needs to forward it to credit control and out the customer on the desired plan. Glo has the worst customer care service in Nigerian they have insufficient agents, which is why they not only respond late but also do not usually do first time resolution

PoliticsRe: National Judicial Council Reacts To Arrest Of Judges, Bars DSS From Arraignment by ebby9z(m): 9:19am On Oct 14, 2016
freeze001:
No, the judiciary is not faultless or incorruptible that is why the NJC exists as the disciplinary body for the judiciary. Even the Minister of interior and the Human rights bodies are unanimous on the fact that the majority of persons locked up in jails are awaiting trial. In other words, they have not been brought before a court at all. That is solely the fault of the executive through the police.

Judges and lawyers are not excused but their individual unethical conducts is no reason to bring the entire arm of government into disrepute as was done by the DSS. That is a breach of democratic tenets and tells everyone including would-be investors that the judiciary which should dispense justice can be raided and its members arrested at any time because the executive is dissatisfied. It is obviously a development that can be abused and any judge can be arrested and intimidated with trumped up charges levelled against him.

The job of the NJC is to ensure that by the time such a person is sent before the public courts to stand trial, he would be a former judge and not have the stain of his misconduct rubbed off on the entire judiciary.

Understand it clearly that it is not the job or mandate of the executive to 'cleanse' the judiciary. How about it cleanses all the parastatals under its direct supervision from the OSGF that used 270 million to clear grass? Has any judgment of the Supreme Court or unchallenged judgment of the lower courts been reviewed and found to have been manifestly contrary to the letter and spirit of the law which may be a result financial inducement? Good thing d judiciary only interprets law made by the Legislature!
It is audible to the deaf and obvious to the blind that the judiciary in the country has gotten extremely rotten...just like every other sector. But he danger here is that the judiciary is the final arbiter, they wield so much influence...we can't survive and grow with such a judicial system.
Thats why if a rich man assaults you, you can not take him to court, because you know you will lose. If a politician beats up your wife, you can not sue him knowing he would emerge victorious. So, where's the last hope of the common man! When will we start the transformation that we have always talked about?
If the NJC had been up and doing when they should, this issue would not have degenerated to this level.
The mode might have been a tad unconventional but it's longterm benefits outweighs the disadvantages
