NewYorkBoi: "Igbo Kwenu" is a greeting normally said to a gathering that may serve to get attention of people for you to say something important. The reply to it is "Iyaaa" onyinye2: It's not my score system o. It's Nigerian score system. |

Ikomi:What I'm saying is if you want to write in English do so. If it's Igbo, do so. Stop mixing the two languages. Now that is what is irritating. Ikomi: From my little knowledge of maths, {1,2,3 , Hauwa, , n} U {1,2,3, Igbo Kwenu, n} = {1,2,3 , n} Maybe you need to revisit your set definitions |

Lesson 1: My Thoughts Onyinye well done. I'll score you 50% by perception. The alphabets are 36 in number. The ones missing on your list are: u, u (w/ dot), s 1. Vowels(Udaume) You got the pronounciation correct for all the vowels you listed. See my suggestions below for the one you marked Idk (I don't know I guess?) I w/dot Shrill, Cyril, Bill For the remaining two: U Pull, Ube (pear), Uche (thought) U (w/dot) Ukwa (breadfruit), Uka (Church) Notice my use of Igbo words in the examples. I strongly encourage this. You can get someone to pronounce them for you if you can't 2. Consonants (Mgbochiume) You also did well here. For the those that come in twos (ndi gbara nkpi) like gb, gh, kw, I'll suggest you look for Igbo words with these since you can hardly get words with such in English. Gb Ogbugba Ndu (Covenant) Gh Ugha (Falsehood) Gw Ngwongwo (Property) Kp Akpi (Scorpion) Kw Ukwe (Song) Nw Onwe (Self) I like your example for "Ny" - perfect. Jisi ike |

ChinenyeN:It could be. Uptill now, I've never really heard of these other dialects except Izaa. There were these people from Ebonyi state that come to Anambra state as hired labour for farming. We all call them "ndi Abakiliki". Apparently they consisted of Izaa, Izii and others. It was difficult for me to understand most things they said. ChinenyeN:No I've not read it. I've downloaded it. 283 pages. I'll read 1 page per day to enable me read my work materials romeo:That's good to know. Nibo people are friendly people drrionelli:Depending on your location, you should look for a native speaker. Learning a language that way gives you speed. |
Computers / Issues With Pba by echelon(m): 9:34pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
Hi all, I enabled PBA - Pre-boot authentication on my acer notebook pc (travelmate 6292) and later disabled it due to my fear that I won't be able to log on to the system if the finger print sensor gets dulled. The next time I turned on the pc, it was asking me for password at the DOS level - where I normally swipe my finger when PBA was enabled. I supplied my regular windows admin password but it wouldn't budge. After 3 trials, the pc locked. Does any one know any walk-around for this? Thanks |

sugabelly: Leaving to where? You're not going anywhere o echelon looks for a length of rope to tie her down to this thread Nne we have never been known as a folk that give up. So don't give up even in the face of all these "opposition". One thing I like is the spirit. Central Igbo, I just learnt, was actually developed to bring some order in the "madness" for written Igbo. Olumba or dialectical Igbo is highly encouraged for spoken Igbo because it gives this Central Igbo a repertoire of words for almost any other object/thing. For instance, the following Igbo words which were previously not ubiquitous to all the dialects have been got from the indicated dialects. Word Dialect English Ezu Aguata Lake Nari Nsuka Hundred Puku Umuahia Thousand Ijeri Ika Billion Again the dialects give the language its richness, consider the following dialectical versions of the indicated words: Culture: Odinani, Omenala, omenana, odinala, odinana, omenani Plantain: Opirima, Okirima, opa, ukam, jioko, ogede, abirika, unere, ojoko Even this Igbo Izugbe is making me forget my dialect So I say: Don't give up on teaching them, you'd be breaking my heart if you do Where are the students sef? Ifygurl and Onyinye? You people should get back to class ASAP |
