I'll say for now stick with some sort of diary keeping - as in a blog. Why? To assess/ develop your writing first. With time you'll graduate to all those you mention. Let self expression be your motivation for now  wink

Take care and happy new year 2009!!!

hi echelon. my addy is danikekhuah.. and please, i have deep interests in photography. know how i can turn that into some money making venture?
I'll suggest your motivation for now should be to find fullfilment in your hobby. You can monetize later. You can incorporate photography into your blogging
As in put in the pics of what you blog. If you reside in lagos, you can blog about the lagos traffic and put in funny pics  grin. If the pics are high quality you might even sell them at some websites  wink

Computers / Re: Sony Makes The Best Laptops by echelon(m): 12:03pm On Dec 27, 2008
I wouldn't say one particular mfr makes the best laptops.

There should be comparisons based on tech specs and price, afterall most of the parts are generic

I've found out that the big brands are normally much more expensive and not all that foolproof

Right now I use a 12.1" Acer Travelmate 6292. It used to be a 14.1" hp compaq 6510b.

Family / Re: Traditional Wedding Is Bullshit by echelon(m): 11:31am On Dec 27, 2008
@Topic

No sir, traditional marriage ceremony is not bullshit

Granted, in some Igbo quaters, some greedy kins may hike up the financial/material requirements but we cannot, because of that, conclude it's bullshit.

Some christian denominations(e.g. RCCG) accept it as the only form of marriage ceremony if the couple so wishes, so one must not perform the two types of ceremonies.

Culture is dynamic and the Igbo is a typical of such, it's my belief that with time, some modifications will be made to the current practise but not an outright abolishment.

People's culture represent them, it's their identity. The world will be a better place if we'all at least tolerate one another and try to understand ourselves before judging.

Sincerely,

Eche

Thanks for all the contributions on this topic, It has been very rewarding and expository. I have enough information now to help me make up my mind on the way forward. And for the cynics who thinks its all hoax, you can make cool money here in Nigeria (legitimately) if you know your onions.

Please bro, show me the way. It wouldn't hurt to augment my salary.  smiley

Bottomline: If the guy in question truly loves you, and is determined to, he'll marry you. QED.

Lol youngies. Idikwa funny  grin.

Ify, your explanation is one way to look at it.

Another one that is subtle is this:

Whatever you do in life, people will always complain. Whether you are fair- or dark- complexioned, people will complain. So do what you know is right after due consultations and do what you want to do, then let people talk. They'll talk anyway.

Hope I have not added to the confusion like Oga Youngies  cheesy
