EgunMogaji2:Let's see how it goes. I'll switch on my next change |
EgunMogaji2:My v6 engine is burning oil at a rate of 1 litre per 3,500 kms. I'm thinking of ditching the Mobil 1 extended performance for an oil weight that is heavier. I'm leaning heavily towards the forte oil option (will carry out changes every 2 months or 3000km whichever comes first) - Odometer is on the high side currently
|
EgunMogaji2:I've heard some nice things about Forte Oil. Old boy uses it, but his oil change intervals varies from 7 weeks to 12 weeks. |

Chelseafan1:There's nothing sporty about a Corolla. It gets the job done, believe you me, I drive one occasionally- I have never opened the bonnet, or had probable cause to fix anything other than the tpms sensor that is acting up. It will serve you well, you'll spend a lot less on maintenance and fuel costs, but I don't think you'd find fulfilment in downgrading from a Benz to a Corolla.
|
Chelseafan1:No too shout, your voice dey loud. Toyota fan boys dey observe us ![]() |
Chelseafan1:My brother try your luck with those guys at Clegg. For the upper arms, get Tibao (not great but will get the job done), and avoid bad roads if you can as much as possible. Personally, I can't afford to avoid bad roads as I travel very often. Take your mind off those sounds before this motor go use you build house. |
Chelseafan1:Vibration during speed runs and clunky sounds when going through bumps and potholes and sometimes during turns sef |
Chelseafan1:Take it to a mechanic workshop for closer inspection, it wont take them up to 10 mins to take off the tire and inspect the shaft for sounds while turning the steering. Avoid buying brand new chinco parts, changed my shaft last year November - used a chinese version of Star and here we are now. This time I go gather small bread buy OEM part. Most of the tokunbo shafts my dealer sent have been reworked . Chelseafan1:The stabilizer linkage works in consonant with the sway bar to prevent the car body from leaning too much and keeps the vehicle stable when driving in turns. |
Smartchoiice:Rationalmind what do you think? |
Smartchoiice:Just to be guided, I'd like to respond with reverence going forward. because it's very difficult keeping up with serial monikers. At least our home boy Nwanneni is easy to follow because he uses similar nomenclature |
Smartchoiice:Read up about the front shafts of the w210, w211 and w212. They don't tolerate dirt, a single grain of sand could damage them. A long shot would have been the upper arms or stabilizer linkages, when they go bad (because they definitely will) their ball joints make some crappy sounds when turning irrespective of whether it's 45, 90, 180 or 360 degrees. But for his case, I'm certain his shaft is on its last legs. Currently have the same symptoms. To make matters easy for him, let him turn the wheel fully and take a picture of the tire well (there will be traces of grease beneath and within the hub. By the way you've not offered any suggestion Edit: is this smartchoicengr? Asking for a friend ![]() |
TONIZ:Is it a 4matic or non 4matic? It can be very tricky to diagnose remotely, could be something as cheap as a ball joint 1,500, stabilizer linkage 7,000, tie rod (with socket) 12—15k. But deep down we both know what is making that sound, I bet your mechanic has mentioned it, but you've refused to believe without multiple opinions. ![]() My brother be like me, start saving to buy this. It will get louder and louder until a Honda happens, by the way you forgot to mention the vibrational feedback you recieve from the steering wheel at speeds above 50 mph or when going through bumps and potholes.

Ridemeapp:Normally, I will just scroll past but it seems you're new here. Nairaland has photo size limitations. Most persons have apps that compress and resize images as per NL standard. Most persons use the easy way out, screenshots (highly compressed images = less than a 100kb). When I post with my phone, I use the editor feature in WhatsApp to reduce, resize, edit, type on images or memes I post on here. There's nothing fishy going on here, now run along. You're also ignored |
diportivo: - a wise man told me to perish this idea. Besides this is the 3.5l v6 - not powerful enough for what I need it for |
