Igbo is not a race of people, it's an ethnic group. The only 3 races identified today and agreed upon by most are caucasoid, negroid, and mongoloid. YOU IGBOS SHOULD BE GRATEFUL THAT THE USA IS EVEN ALLOWING YOU TO STATE WHAT ETHNIC GROUP YOU COME FROM. You're gonna get grouped in w/ us Black Americans in the 'black' race. Deal with it. |

maybe Jonathan should tell the North to bleep off or shut up while he runs for election in 2011. or better yet how 'bout we send some of our crazy Tea Party activist over to Nigeria to handle the problems so they can shout 'shut up ni66er we're runnin' this joint right here' at the northerners. |
Politics / Re: Jonathan To Meet Obama In April by Eddeux(m): 5:43pm On Mar 23, 2010 |
what is special abt seeing Obama. He is the most POWERFUL POLITICIAN IN THE WORLD that's what. I don't see why he is meeting Jonathan. I don't think our president should meet him till Nigeria truly becomes a democracy and the country sees some visible progress and stability, so by, 2057, lmao Maybe Jonathan's visit to Obama will show that the United States doesn't support the muslim politicians that rule your country. |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Eddeux(m): 3:55pm On Mar 19, 2010 |
The United States of America if our leaders ever relocate AFRICOM's headquarters to the African continent Egypt seems strong, but REMEMBER they got their asses handed to them by Israel before, and it's much more well-equipped and a lot smaller in land/population. Still Egypt's military could land some hurt on any force that dares go against it. Hmmm, South Africa is probably the best-equipped, but I rarely hear about them intervening in Africa affairs **maybe b/c white people there won't nothing to do w/ rest of Africa?** I personally think the strongest militaries belong to East African countries such as Ethiopia and Tanzania possibly even Kenya too. Nigeria could become the superpower of Africa, but it's too disorganized and really does the country have a solid military that actually obeys the government and can perform operations efficiently? 1 Like |
Politics / Re: US Prepares Strategy For Dealing With War In Nigeria <<Denied>> by Eddeux(m): 3:42pm On Mar 19, 2010 |
No group or ethnics can be force to conform to electoral reform, when they say NO. And the north have clearly said No and they prefer structural reform . Gaddafi knows the north and even when the west see him as a bad man. This time around. I have to agree, he is speaking the truth. Gaddafi is a friend to the powerful power block in the north. He knows what they want. If we fail to have structural reform, we would see more than 5 africa countries involve in this civil war. so tribalism still runs in Nigeria. You better start scrapping the 2020 Vision cause from the looks of it your country won't be accomplishing it, or anything else, as long as it still has these problems that you have described. Would the world and most open-minded people like to see a developed Nigeria? Of course, but sooner or later you lose your hope in a poorly ran country; a WASTE of foreign investment. |
Politics / Re: Nigeria - Barack Obama Us - Plots Military Strategy For Nigeria’s ‘breakup’ by Eddeux(m): 3:35pm On Mar 19, 2010 |
Just another waste of U.S. taxpayer dollars, and also more strain on our already expanded military. If the Nigerians can't band together to solve their own INTERNAL problems that are in no way a threat to America then why should we take on the burden of doing so? This is the first step in the fall of a superpower. Expanding influence too much to where it gets to a point where you can no longer finance your operations. |

Politics / Re: Internet Video: Muslims Must Rise Up In Nigeria by Eddeux(m): 10:41pm On Mar 16, 2010 |
Just another blow to foreign confidence in Nigeria. Tell me again, what does a country need in order to develop besides a stable government? FDI or in other words Foreign Direct Investment. Nigeria will never sustain it if crap like this continues. Religion has wreaked hell on mankind for far too long. |
Politics / Re: Nigeria Is Now Ranked 33rd Biggest Economy Among Nations by Eddeux(m): 10:29pm On Mar 16, 2010 |
and that is something to brag out? I don't see Nigeria cracking into the G20 by 2020 unless the country makes some needed reforms. Economic size doesn't mean a thing when it comes to daily living. For example, China is the world's 2nd largest economy (unofficially at the moment though) but her people are still poor when compared to other major economies, and although development is speeding up, China still isn't a developed country. I think your country can brag when it successfully modernizes and increases the wealth of its people. |
Politics / Do You Think Nigeria's Gdp Can Surpass South Africa's by Eddeux(m): 11:52pm On Mar 08, 2010 |
so I don't know what Nigeria's gdp is officially (don't know what to trust) but I looked on CIA Factbook and here it is: GDP: $165.4 billion (2009) GDP (PPP): $353.2 billion (2009) https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ni.html South Africa's: GDP: $277.4 billion (2009) GDP (PPP): $488.6 billion (2009) https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/sf.html And it's predicted Nigeria will surpass SA by 2012, but I ask, is this in PPP? How will it be possible? Trust me I know Nigeria will leap ahead at some point, but 2012 is 2 years down the road. Double digit growth would possibly have to occur then. The economy is expected to expand past 7% (if I'm right) this year, and SA's at around a mear 3%. Do you think Nigeria will achieve its 2020 vision of GDP no lower than $900 billion? And another thing, isn't Egypt's GDP is $470.4 billion (PPP) and $277.4 billion at exchange, so this places it above Nigeria. When will Egypt be surpassed? https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/sf.html Negative nancys stay away from this thread!I know Nigeria having a higher GDP doesn't translate to better living conditions, I'm just looking at this from a purely economical (and sorta political considering leaders play a huge role in development) viewpoint. |

eddeux, what exactly do u want? I want DECENT answers that aren't: 1) bashing black americans 2) changing the topic to the actions of the U.s. 3) dumb as hell I've gotten plenty, but there are still some trollin' or don't have enough intelligience to understand my question without going all wild (tribal). your the one, with eddex or whatever that came here and started making the comparisonlmao, what comparisons? I came here asking when Nigeria will develop, and what's wrong w/ comparisons anyways? All people in the world, especially America, are compared to others. The average akata knows nothing about Africa. So I doubt any of you akatas who deny your African roots will do anything to help the continent. That still doesn't change the fact we're the wealthiest blacks in the world! So I guess that means we are allowed to slack off at times cause we actually can afford to! Most African American males live past 21, actually the 'average' life expectancy is aroujnd 70 (like 2 1/2 decades above Nigeria's) but a lot of us live past that (such as my g-grandpa who died at 88). And Kenya is above Tanzania, borders Somalia to the west, and Ethiopia to the North @Posterwhen will you answer my question, when will Nigeria develop? In the next 10-30 years, visible development shall be seen everywhere in NigeriaTHANK YOU!! Finally an answer that's real and isn't hating on Black Americans. You're one of the few Nigerian posters who truly answered my q. |
Politics / Re: Nigerians, Will Your Country Ever Develop by Eddeux(m): 6:29am On Mar 04, 2010 |
Hehehehe This will be fun whatever EzeUche you're just relying on stereotypes to back up your gross generalizations. I came here to ask Nigerians when their country would develop, b/c I'm actually interested in Nigeria and much of Africa, but instead I find this. and yeah you are right Nigeria may some day be sweeping up real estate across africa like the Japanese did w/ icnonic American buildings during the roaring '80s. But it won't happen if ur politicians don't get their act together. |
Politics / Re: Nigerians, Will Your Country Ever Develop by Eddeux(m): 5:15am On Mar 04, 2010 |
These no culture having fools should learn their place on the social ladders. They are the sons and daughters of former slaves and have that taint. They are OSU in my opinion. lmao, sons and daughters of former slaves that actually LOOK good. Who do you see people finding more attractive, an AA or you (a nigerian)? This is funny. They brag about their purchasing power, but they produce nothing. Koreans sell their hair and even their soulfood. I find it hilarious. Akatas are only consumers, not producers. The only thing they produce is there trashy Rap music. WRONG black owned business, over 1.2 million as of 2002 produce over $88 billion, and today that is obviously way higher (we'll see in the census is complete). Are u jealous that your country doesn't produce anywhere near as much?
No we don't, we're too busy working and competiting in the modern world to do that. But the akata cotton picker is another breed. They hate our forefathers, because they were sold to the white man. lolfunny you say that when many black americans are reaching out into Nigeria to do business, and guess who's the cotton picker a.k.a. employee? Hey Mandingo, you never know, my Great-great-great grandfather may have sold your relatives. We Aros are known for selling weak people to the white man. too bad the dumb ones didn't get sold, eh? |
Business / Re: CBN Lowers Rates To Encourage Bank Lending by Eddeux(m): 1:25am On Mar 04, 2010 |
why does the economy need to be improved? Isn't Nigeria expected to have exponential growth this year? I personally think that Nigeria's govt shouldn't try to 'stimulate' the economy w/ millions or billions of dollars. That is what the U.S. govt did and our economy may be growing but employment is suffering. I think the economy could really get moving if the govt let some private players into the energy industry (cause I've been hearing for years how Nigeria will have more power, blah blah blah, I'll believe it when I see it), and most importantly when Nigerian banks start lending money to the right people and learn how to keep in check their balance sheets. If all of this works, then Nigerians could have an easier time obtainining Capital, growth wil accelerate in the energy industry and overall in the economy thanks to more generation of power, and of course if Nigerian workers are paid what they're suppose to and yada yada then maybe consumer spending could help jolt the economy as well (this would work really well if the savings rate increased, banks would have more money to lend out to small businesses). IMAGINE IF ALL OF THIS HAPPENED AT ONCE, NIGERIA COULD BE THE WORLD'S FASTEST GROWING ECONOMY but of course little me just lives in America and I have no clue of the conditions in Nigeria. |
Politics / Re: Nigerians, Will Your Country Ever Develop by Eddeux(m): 1:17am On Mar 04, 2010 |
since we nigerians can't answer your question, i'll pose one to u: when we see fathers not abandoning their kids, because as you know fatherless children usually only have gangs, criminals, and other bad people to look up to. Also when America starts paying more attention to its poor folks. Not saying we're the only ones, we have plenty of poor people in all races/ethnic groups in America, but in this country it is everyone for themself. I always said that black americans could learn some cultural (family) values from Africans while we could teach them business. |
Politics / Re: Nigerians, Will Your Country Ever Develop by Eddeux(m): 1:14am On Mar 04, 2010 |
@mandingo/eddeux here are some questions for both of you, instead of asking the question "when will nigeria develop" perhaps you could try asking your US govt the following questions: Why blame us? The people of any sovereign nation should be strong enough to keep their government entact even if militias rise up.
wait, isn't China running arond Africa as we speak scrambling up oil reserves? If our economy is mounted on a giant ponzi scheme then what does that make the economy of Nigeria built on? OIL, and imagine it'll come tumbling down once our leaders get some sense and stop giving the oil companies what they want. Besides, over 16% of our GDP is based on manufacturing, which is around $5 trillion bucks, and the service sector makes up the rest, and yes money is generated from providing services, and if you go by GNP then we produce even more than $14 trillion in goods and services. That 5 trillion is still lightyears ahead of Nigeria's gdp. though I can sympathise w/ you that the IMF and of course the world has a negative stereotype of Africa as just a land of poor people governed by corrupt governments why has the US govt continued to outsource almost the whole of its manufacturing industry abroad to countries where labour is cheap such as haiti, indonesia, china, mexico where they can get away with paying people 15 cents a day as they were doing in haiti?that isn't the U.s. govt, it's our corporations who are satin reborn. and besides, Nigeria's economy needs to gear towards manufacturing more as well. Boy imagine how much wealth would be generated if your country was capable of actually manufacturing the generators it imports. when will it abandon its practice of selling billions of dollars worth of arms to puppet govts that it has helped install in order to guarantee themselves an unending supply of cheap natural resources at the expense of the indigenous people of those countries.hopefully soon, or maybe when developing countries rise and get tired of the BS we've been giving them. but till then, don't count on it. |
Politics / Re: Nigeria Military Getting More Advanced, A Must Watch. LOL by Eddeux(m): 1:01am On Mar 04, 2010 |
still not as advanced and powerful as the U.S. military. and why does Nigeria need to build up her military? She has no neighbors threatening her, all of her problems are internal. |
Politics / Re: Nigerians, Will Your Country Ever Develop by Eddeux(m): 12:56am On Mar 04, 2010 |
you know this very well. Any major suburb you drive through more then half of the blacks living there will be african, and almost all of them nigerian. Thanks for the laugh the lowest a nigerian will be working in america is janitorial work or taxi driving, cool, but a black american doing this has already out achieved most of his peers. lmao, then how do we, black americans, in all have a purcashing power of over $700 billion bucks. If you moved all 40 million of us back to Africa we'd have Africa's largest economy and be Africa's wealthiest people BY FAR. and by 2012 that number may be at $1.2 trillion **note this story was made like in '08, so I imagine the numbers are higher now** http://www.prlog.org/10077453-new-report-forecasts-african-american-buying-power-to-hit-1-1-trillion-by-2012.html to top it off were still the most educated and well off minority in the united states, its a fact. So you can say as you wish but the facts are in front of you.Yes lets applaud the Nigerians, and forget the rest of the other Africans in America as well. I can acknowledge African immigrants have the highest graduation rates, but that's only cause most Americans don't take education seriously anymore, we take what we have in this country for granted. out of every 100 black americans 10 will grow to be reasonable human beings and all of them will marry a white woman cause they dont want their kids to have black skin.and I'm guessing that number is much lower for Nigerians STILL in Nigeria? yet Nigeria is still not developed. also, black americans have been given a chance to create and run their own country, it's called Liberia, a country that wouldn't exist today if Nigeria wasn't spoon feeding it, do the research. It's also the love-peddler and drug user capital of africa.and guess who is spoon-feeding Nigeria? U.S. and other internationa oil companies that account for most of the money your government makes. I asked a simple, honest question yet you choose to ignore it and bash black americans. You just keep doing that, but the fact remains Nigeria can stall for years or decades to come, but we'll just get wealthier and wealthier. |

Politics / Re: Nigeria Is A Big Mistake by Eddeux(m): 3:02am On Feb 28, 2010 |
nobody is complaining hereyeah u are. oh the irony. are you insane or what, how will the military rule a divided country, once divided, will the military rule south from the north or what are you trying to say?who said that the new countries wouldn't have militaries? NK had one when they were divided from SK, and vice versa. A new military, or militia, could form or the old one split in two w/ the loyals going to either the North or South.duh and, every country will have their various economies if a split up can happen as you claim, were you thinking with your arse when you typed your post?so a compliment followed by a diss. r u bipolar by any chance? what I said was the truth, a split between the North and South would cause chaos in the economy AND it will weaken foreign investors confidence in Nigeria, and last time I checked FDI is an important factor in development and who talked about breakup. were you reading the post with your nose or whatu sure did make it seem like u were talking about breaking up. saying how the North isn't where all the wealth is blah blah blah. R u angry that I pointed out what might happen to Nigeria if it split? I UNDERSTAND HOW YOU AND SOME OTHER NIGERIANS MAY NOT BE USE TO FOREIGN CRITICISM, but damn no reason to go a-wall on me |

Politics / Re: Nigeria Is A Big Mistake by Eddeux(m): 6:57pm On Feb 27, 2010 |
Oh , instead of complaining Nigeria is a big mistake you should be trying to learn to get along. it's like northern U.S. and southern U.S. during the civil war. North was more industrialized, had better living standards, and most importantly Northern states were abolishing slavery. the south was like, farmland filled w/ a lot of ppl who wanted slavery to continue. yes the two clashed but the north won, and America emerged stronger than it ever was before. What will happen 2 your country if it were to split? Would military dictators presume control again? How about the economy and development in general? They both require stability in a country to achieve. You aren't thinking of the hassles that come w/ the seperation of one country (especially if the split is ugly). but if it does happen I think the south will rapidly develop (sorta like South Korea) while the North just stumbles along. |
Politics / Re: Nigerian President Yaradua Has One Month To Live by Eddeux(m): 6:45pm On Feb 27, 2010 |
Hmmm, well two things can happen to Nigeria IF Yar'Adua does die within a month: 1. high road of local companies using the country’s world class oil and gas resources, and mass access to information technology to effect a China-style transformation of the economy and living standards or 2. a low road of the centre failing to hold, with things falling apart as militants in the Niger Delta and the Muslim north, drawing on huge social discontent, overwhelm the state. Your country should take its pick. |
