Police denies killing of Civil Defence officer in Abuja Contrary to trending news circulating in the media speculating the death of an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who allegedly died as a result of assault by personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, the police on Thursday debunked the claims. Speaking during a joint press briefing, Force PRO, Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP) Frank Mba, disclosed that the deceased slumped and died during preliminary interrogation at a nearby police station at about 9am yesterday. According to Mba, the deceased violated traffic rules and was arrested by two Traffic Warden along Nyanya Highway in Nigeria’s capital city. “He was arrested and he drove himself to the police station with immediate members of his family who were with him at the time of arrest and a Traffic Warden in his own car. Traffic Warden are not Police Personnel that is why they wear yellow top for easy identification. ” He slumped and was later confirmed dead during interrogation at the police station and his body is presently deposited at the morgue of Maitama District Hospital for autopsy. The deceased was not wearing any uniform aside the Civil Defence trouser which made it difficult for the Wardens to identify him at the time of arrest. “During autopsy, a member of his family and a representative of his organization will be permitted to be present,” he explained. Mba said FCT Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma personally observed the body and there was no traces of assault on the deceased. However, he said the Traffic Wardens who arrested the deceased are presently in detention. Recall that an Assistant Superintendent of the NSCDC, Jumbo Ogah was reportedly molested and killed by Police Personnel for violating traffic rules. |

This cannot be a mere coincidence but calculated vendetta. What is really free and fair about the conduct of this new version of INEC in 2019? This is the first time in Nigeria's democratic history where a supposed electoral umpire is openly withholding the decision of Nigerians simply because it does not favor the despotic incumbency. This is a disgrace to any developing nation. Justice can never come from unjust. Taraba Suspended! Adamawa Inconclusive! Bauchi Inconclusive!!! Plateau Inconclusive! Kano Suspended! Sokoto Inconclusive! Rivers Suspended! INEC, WHAT A SHAME!!! |

*De Bruyne & Stones Still Sidelined for Man City* John Stones and Kevin de Bruyne have not recovered from injuries in time to feature for Manchester City against Watford, but Pep Guardiola suggested Aymeric Laporte could be back. Both Stones (groin) and De Bruyne (hamstring) were substituted in last week's win at Bournemouth with knocks, although manager Guardiola said at the time that the England defender's withdrawal looked to be merely precautionary. De Bruyne was also upbeat about his own fitness, saying the ailment was "not so bad". Neither player will face Watford on Saturday, but Premier League leaders City were boosted by Laporte's return to training this week, with the defender – injured in the Carabao Cup final – initially ruled out until the end of the month. "All of them are getting better. They are better," said Guardiola. "Aymeric is back. He trained the last two or three days. I don't know if he's available. "Kevin is not quite fit. John Stones is not fit either, but the other ones are okay." To read full article - http://v.duta.us/LUcibQAA |
*Ranieri Named Interim Manager at Roma* Claudio Ranieri has been appointed AS Roma's manager following the departure of Eusebio Di Francesco. The former Fulham and Leicester City boss will be in the dugout for his first match on Monday as Roma are set to take on Empoli at the Stade Olimpico. Ranieri has signed a contract with the club through June as he will help the club see out the rest of the Serie A campaign. “We are delighted to welcome Claudio Ranieri back to the club,” said Roma president Jim Pallotta. Di Francesco's departure came in the wake of Roma's Champions League elimination at the hands of Porto, ending the club's run in the round of 16. To read full article - http://v.duta.us/2DjkFQAA |
*FIFA Refuses❌ to Postpone Chelsea Ban* FIFA has denied a request from Chelsea to postpone their transfer ban while they appeal the punishment. Chelsea could now ask the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to grant an interim ruling, which would allow players to be signed in the off season. Chelsea were banned from registering new players through January 2020 for breaking rules designed to protect teenage players. The Premier League side were also fined more than £460,000, while the FA face a £390,000 sanction that they will also appeal, citing "concerns" with FIFA's disciplinary processes. The west London club were found guilty of 29 incidences of breaching article 19, which relates to the transfer of players aged under 18. The club denies any wrongdoing and "categorically refutes the finding of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee" In previous similar cases involving top Spanish clubs, FIFA granted provisional measures which meant transfer bans were not enforced during the appeal process.
