I am a PR and invited them.. borvick: |
They are also flying in December, so would like to avoid delays so their flight ticket get booked on time. Pls what's the turn around time for Abuja? They reside outside Lagos Jay316: |
Pls clarify what you mean by "Evidence of transmission fee payment if your biometric was not done in Lagos" Biometric was done in Lagos for my parents, so no need paying for transmission fee now that they are requesting for their passports? Help pls Madeincanada: |
I did send a webform to expedite application plus an email to IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca in the old application but that didn't yield anything, so I just completed the new application (no email or webform sent) See response for old application webform if that helps: "We have received your request for a written authorization under the travel restrictions exemptions. Please note that IRCC will only issue written authorization to an applicant who holds a valid Canadian travel document (i.e. electronic travel authorization [eTA] or visitor visa). Based on our review of your enquiry and the information in our system, we can confirm that your application for a visitor visa is in our processing queue. However, since you do not yet have a valid Canadian travel document, we are unable to process your request for an exemption to the Canadian travel restrictions. As such, your request will not be processed. While we are unable to provide an update on the processing of your visitor visa application, please note that if you applied before September 7, 2021 and need to travel to Canada now for one of the following reasons, we recommend that you submit a new application through the IRCC portal. If you require written authorization, your request will be processed as part of your new visa application." Aamabel: |
Chatted with vfs rep and got a response, yes It's okay to submit their docs in 1 package since they applied together Hello house, I understand there's a Package transmission fee that must be paid per applicant before sending Passports to VFS Lagos or Abuja. I intend to include the proof of payment with passport and other documents. My question....since I applied for my mum & dad together, is it okay to send their Passport/docs in one DHL brown envelope and pay for one 2way return courier OR I must separate their docs and pay for 2 separate brown envelopes. Any response will be appreciated. Thanks |
I applied on August 29th for my mum & dad, no response. Reapplied (reuniting with immediate family member) on Oct 19th via new portal, got a PPR request for them today.....6 business days Debbieeeeeee: |

What questions do you have about Ottawa? Etrangere: |
This looks like somewhere I know in Ottawa, I could be wrong though. Newmum0615: |
Thanks plenty....have you landed now? Transformium: |
Oh thanks very much for the info... AZeD1: |
PPR Part 2/Landing gist Started typing this 4am. We landed yesterday in Ottawa. I'm wide awake planning as usual and thought to finally share our story. I get slightly uncomfortable reading stories with all Glory to God everywhere, as I believe people should work hard too and not expect miracles....but this was all God, probably to remind me He comes first no matter how we plan or work hard. PPR 2 1st PPR - March 2019 Got married and informed CIC - May 2019 It was supposed to be easy you see, but something unexpected happened. We were gathering supporting docs before the 30days deadline and hubby's medicals was scheduled asap with request letter as evidence. Qlife uploaded medicals way before I submitted additional docs. Then the unexpected... He got a mail to repeat medicals within 60days, no other additional info. Not ADR...mail, since I was even yet to submit our application. What did they find out? TB, AIDS, high BP, what? Asked hubby ridiculous questions on what exactly he hid from me...lolz (small quarrel burst that night). Heart pounding, he ran to Qlife next day and to our relief, yet worry...high Serum Creatinine level from his blood test. The max is 1.3, his was 1.7. He had this repeated and it climbed even higher to 1.9. Hay God! Was hearing it for the first time, so we started researching, I even stumbled on medical guide from CIC on immigration. High Serum Creatinine was one of the signs of potential CKD (chronic kidney disease). But hubby's urine level was VERY ok and eGFR (Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate) wasn't even near critical...just slightly below normal, a warning. Thanks for the tip CIC, but why tension us like this? Answer...If above a limit which we don't know, we could have been denied on grounds of placing an excessive demand on Canada's health services. Denied ke...Canada that my soul and body was in already, only my legs were left in Nigeria. At this point, the prayers and fasting began earnestly...especially from hubby, he kept saying he was OK while I was paranoid first for him having lost someone dear to kidney disease, and secondly that this was the end of our triumphant entry to Canada. Checked nairaland for similar cases, not much help...so we consulted Canadavisa threads. Usually, after repeating medicals, if still high....CIC would request for a 3rd medicals, and finally, a medical report from a nephrologist. So while waiting, it was important to reduce levels by eating healthy (avoid diary products/animal proteins) and stop strenuous exercises. Ignorance they say is bliss...Hubby loved to exercise and red meat was his weakness. He apparently ate lots of red meat days before the repeat medicals and even drank much milk that morning, hence, the spike to 1.9. Summarily, there was a control...give up everything. Infact, if not that he needed food to survive, he wld've stopped eating too. The wait began...3months after repeat medicals, 2 emails to Accra and several CSEs....nothing, no biometric or medicals request. Eventually saw @Transformium's PPR2 update mid August and sprung into action. We didn't pay for biometrics earlier as this wasn't on our request letter....so paid asap and informed Accra. Request for Biometrics came in the next day...interesting. So what was next? ADR for medicals or PPR? Hubby decided to repeat the blood test in another clinic...level came down to 1.3 but I told him no need, we're getting PPR. He cldn't go for biometrics till Sept 6th and coincidentally, I was in Lagos same weekend, so I carried all docs for PPR along. Lo and Behold, PPR mail dropped on Sept 8th but I didn't see it till late evening on the 9th. Submitted his passport Sept 10th, mine was still with Accra and COPR was ready for collection Sept 30th. We still can't say why there was no update on his medicals (pass or fail), hence, the delay in sharing this story till we land to avoid surprises from our village people. Ordered GCMS notes since August and haven't received it till now. Still curious... Landing gist This had to happen before visa expiry in November. If I knew request for extensions worked as shared on this thread, wldve given it a shot. But after our ordeal, I was ready to spend all our POF on flight ticket alone sef. Not to bore us, it's same story via Ethiopian airline, just surprised ours was a breeze from check-in to landing. No stops to check for anything as expected since we carried foodstuff for our host, no request for bribe. On CAD, we checked different BDCs at the airport, the rates were from 285-290CAD. Needed to withdraw cash for the exchange which was above ATM daily limits, so went to Ecobank last floor there in the airport. Discovered they issued PTA, applied for one and got USD at 358.50 within 30mins. I suspect however this was possible since we had a return flight ticket. On our way to the departure gate, we discovered another BDC offering 280CAD....ouch. Our plan is to job hunt in our preferred NOCs here and there, as this will influence where we land finally. For now, we're very much interested in survival jobs, so if you're in Ottawa and know of one, pls and pls hook us up. Thanks It finally ended in praise... |
Thanks very much... DatechMan: |
Ok thanks bLacKGoLd3: |
Any help with this please? Eddy4400: |
Hi fam. For those that travelled recently via Lagos, pls what's the current exchange rate for CAD at the airport? . I'm considering changing at the airport or with a friend in Canada for 285CAD..is this a good rate? Any BDC contact close to the airport will be appreciated too... |
When you go to the CCIS office, ask about the food safety mgt training program for newcomers. It's funded by the authorities, so free for landed new comers Dyolahh: |

Pls which of the account nos did she pay into? Some nigerian account numbers are listed under worldwide contacts on their page, but I've been unable to get them via call to confirm it's the right account as I intend to pay via bank app. Help pls maplemom: |
Use jobbank and click on "explore the market* under the menu tab. You can search for any financial related role in Newfoundland and Ontario and it will give you all the info you need from the wages, to skills required and even current job vacancies. Above the available financial jobs in your search in Newfoundland, you'll see similar jobs in other provinces and the total vacancies posted. This will easily let you know where you'll have more opportunities in that field. I could be wrong though. Collintos: |
Please what happens if I cancel my US visa appointment without rescheduling? The timing isn't right as I'll be coming back from a trip that wasn't planned in Nov(soft landing in Canada as PR). This will deplete my funds and may raise brows at my need to visit the US immediately this Dec 2019. Don't want to risk getting denied. Note that I paid for the fee since Sept 2018 but delayed travelling cos I got a new job. Hurriedly booked an appointment before the fee expiration in Sept 2019 and had to reschedule the appointment to fill another DS160. So I'll have to pay to reschedule again. |

My sister's husband is inviting my mum who is retired to visit his family (my sis and their children). Any need for my sis to also sign the invitation letter since her husband is the one inviting her? Also stating that he'll cover the full cost of her trip and estimating this at £3000 for her one month stay. I'm using her husband's bank statement alone which is sufficient, as she just started working. Uploading their marriage certificate to show evidence that he's my mum's son-in-law and my sister's birth certificate to show relationship with my mum. Pls is this OK? |
Hi, please check your mail. Thanks. einsteino: |
Please what happens if one cancels a tourist visa interview appointment and does not wish to reschedule due to change in plans? Hope this wont affect future applications? |
I'm helping my mum apply for her visit visa as well. Invite is from my sister and husband. Please kindly help with all the supporting documents for the application. I've started reading through the thread, but really need your help as im running out of time and your application is exactly as my mum's. Thanks Priorygroup: |
234ng44uk:OK thanks |
Please I need clarification from those that added their spouse post PPR/COPR. Is it okay if only the PA soft lands before visa expiry in November? I read it a while ago that your spouse can land afterwards, but not so sure now. Thanks in advance |
