XhosaNostra: No, many people actually like Mashaba, they just don't like the party he represents. He seems to be one of the few people that takes his mandate seriously. Now if there's a guy I dislike in as much as I dislike Juju, it'd be the Gauteng MEC guy. Can't remember his name now but I can't stand him. He's another populist of note. I don't even see what people like in him because the standard of education is in decay. South African politics are nauseating at the moment. I was thinking Mashaba would be a good bet for presidency. I know some folks have said he sounds "Trump like" but like you said he seems like someone who takes his work seriously. Are you talking about that Lesufi guy? He said ANC were too quick in expelling Malema. No surprises if he sounds like him. |

XhosaNostra: She had her own demons, I guess. Nelson was also no saint though. He had a few skeletons of his own as far as commitment is concerned. I just don't know if he ever cheated on Winnie. His 1st wife claimed he cheated & beat her. The one thing I respect him for is, he told her straight that he was no longer in love with her. To me the bitter truth is better than living an illusion. Yeah true. At least he admitted himself he was no saint. I wish we had Nigerian leaders like him. |

XhosaNostra: Malema's not-so-secret weapon is saying whatever he thinks people wanna hear. He's a populist & a dumb but dangerous one at that. Like I've really tried to detach myself & listen to him without judgment, but nah. To me he looks stupid even when he is just smiling & not saying anything. I don't like him at all. I also think Lekota is one of the few sensible people left. The rest have no integrity whatsoever. I want them to screw up this country & get it over with since people don't seem to have any reasoning capacity. I liked him at first because of his Pan Africanism but nah...he's too extreme. Says some very crazy ish at times...not the way to go. South Africans will need to wake up. It's obvious ANC is dead at the moment. Another guy whom I like a bit is Herman Mashaba. Don't know too much about him but I don't get why people hate him. If DA weren't a bit dumb themselves - ANC wouldn't be this laid back. |

XhosaNostra: Yeah but it was with someone close to the family. Perhaps that was too much of a betrayal for him, who knows. I never cared much for her though & it has nothing to do with all the scandals that surrounded her. I've always found her a bit fake for some reason. Most people think she's the cat's meao. Maybe it's the rebel in me, but she's never been someone I admire, although I do sympathize with some of the stuff she went through. It ends there for me. Funny my aunt(who is South African) said she really broke Nelson's heart...especially her fling with Mpofu. I never knew she cheated on Nelson while he was out of prison. That's a bit cold no lie.. |

XhosaNostra: Yes, it's true. Most opted for the cash option. It's scary because it seems certain factions are planning to impeach, Cyril. When that happens, we're done for. The funny thing with South Africans is, they think they're poor. But I don't think they really understand that even poverty got levels. We're not eating rats yet, but at this rate, I'm afraid there will come a time where we will be setting mousetraps, in preparation for dinner. I hope noone will help us because we deserve every bit of what's coming. I honestly was unaware of how many idiotic people we have in this country until in most recent years. It's mind boggling. ANC might as well join forces with the EFF then. There's hardly a difference with both these days. I think the likes of Mbeki needs to join Lekota and form another party. I like Cope but it's too small time. Malema has ANC folks shook for some reason. How is that guy this powerful? |

forgiveness: Rohr should not throw away Balogun because of one mistake after he has done well for the team in the past 3 years. He should extend invitation to him if he gets to play regularly for his club.
Kelechi Nwakali should get game time before he is invited to the national team. This is Nigeria's national team.
Rohr to overhaul Eagles as players reach end of international careers

Super Eagles’ Coach, Gernot Rohr will embark on a complete overhaul of his team if he retained his position as Nigeria’s manager.
The Franco/German is set to sit down with his employers, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), to evaluate his stewardship and decide on the way forward.
The NFF President, Amaju Pinnick recently said the federation would not sack the former Bordeaux coach adding, however, that the federation would help him to become more efficient.
With the retirement of Skipper John Obi Mikel, who is likely to be followed by the first-choice striker, Odion Ighalo, Rohr is looking to fill some of the positions that would be affected by the new development, as well as plugging the holes he noticed in the team at the African Nations Cup.
Apart from the retiring players, among those that they may no longer feature in Rohr’s team are Leon Balogun, Daniel Akpeyi, John Ogu, and Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
According to a source close to the coach, Rohr was disappointed by the performance of some of his trusted players, particularly Leon Balogun and Daniel Akpeyi and as such wants to have capable replacements before the World Cup qualifiers begin.
“Balogun and Ogu are senior citizens in the team, but they disappointed when they were given the opportunity to play against Madagascar.
“Balogun’s game has been going down since he relocated to England and at 30, the coach believes it is time to look at younger players.
“He is still certain for a good partner for Troost-Ekong as Kenneth Omeruo has proved to be unreliable, but the Chelsea star will still maintain his squad place pending when there is a better alternative.
“Ogu has not actually featured prominently in Rohr’s team, so the coach thinks it is time to let him go. He believes that given the opportunity, youngsters like Kelechi Nwakali, Osimhen and Dele Alampasu can plug the holes in the team.”
The source said the coach is desperately in search of good goalkeepers from within and outside Nigeria, adding that Rohr has encouraged the NFF to look at how to get Arsenal young goalkeeper, Arthur Okonkwo to pledge allegiance to the Super Eagles.
https://m.guardian.ng/sport/rohr-to-overhaul-eagles-as-players-reach-end-of-international-careers/ Anyone who wants Balogun gone is not serious at all. Because of one bad game?? Leon is still important to us. He is 32 (real age - not football age) - so fucking what? |

XhosaNostra: As for land, honestly, I hope people don't get even a patch of it. Some just want to turn this country into one big ghetto. Look what happened to the house in Pretoria that BLF members invaded & occupied by force. They lived there & thrashed it. Urban land (since people are running away from rural land at neck-breaking speed) should only be given to those with a plan & purpose for it. Building shacks on it is not only taking us backwards, but it shows that people haven't got a clue what they want to use the land for. You give them land today, tomorrow they will complain about the lack of infrastructure. Like I stated earlier, they just want other people's nice homes so they can thrash them. Maintaining a property is not as easy as people think. It takes money. Given the opportunity, they'll turn this country into a dump & burn everything on it. I'm sick of South Africans & their parasitic mindset sometimes. All they want is to take. You have something nice, someone will ask you to give it to them (Ndicela undiphe yona, not caring how you got it or how you kept it in the condition that it is in, but nonetheless, they want it). Ugh. Thabo Mbeki said something similar in regards to Land expropriation. He said when it took place after apartheid, most black folks simply sold the land...said they preferred cash. I think Cyril isn't stupid enough to go all out with this especially without expropriation. |

Omudia11: Mandela is not even a leader to emulate. As a leader you must put your people first. Mandela should have taken back the lands and businesses of those white Invaders especially those acquired during apartheid.
Now the white minority own at least 70% of the land and control over 70% of the economy as well Stop talking about what you know nothing about. Mandela chose not to pay hate back with hate. I don't like how he treated Winnie but dude was only human after all. The land issue is not as straight forward as it seems. |

TheSuperNerd: I know this is hindsight but Mahrez would not have beaten Uzoho in goal for that freekick. Akpeyi is just too poor in organizing a wall and positioning himself.
I recall even the great Messi couldn't beat Uzoho from similar close range, edge-of-the-box-kinda fk at Russia 2018. Uzoho tipped it to the post. Sigurdsson too could not beat him. Even with that said, Uzoho is also average (on the better side of average if you ask me compared to Akpeyi) and needs to improve. He is still 20 and I trust he can. But Akpeyi is never going to get better. It is too late. I guess Uzoho's size might come in handy...don't think he's that agile though and Mahrez free kick had a lil more power. |

Curtisaxel7: Mikel should've started that game ahead of Etebo.
Etebo is just a combative box to box hard tackling midfielder. No finesse, no passing abilities, no game control abilities, nothing. Service to our forwards was virtually non existent, courtesy of a dead midfield. Sadly, Mikel who should've been at the heart of the midfield was played out of position a couple of times and then condemned to the bench.
Rohr needs to learn, you don't win a game with tackles alone. Etebo has been our best player in this tournament. Why would Rohr bench him? I agree Mikel should've started or maybe come on as a sub but not at the expense of Etebo. I'd have benched Samu(or Iwobi) and played a midfield 3 of Mikel - Ndidi - Etebo. |

Joebie: Why would I hate the player? I've never been impressed with Shehu. Why should I make a call for a player of that caliber? Tell me how many games Shehu has played well for us. Players do drift to other positions during game time, so there is simply no excuse. I mean I can understand the logic in bringing Shehu as a CM to free Etebo but Shehu isn't much of a controller and that is what we needed...not just an additional CM. |

The problem was, Rohr didn't have plan B. The did the same thing Baxter did against us - not trying to change a winning formula so not to upset the harmony in the team. He should've known it wouldn't work against Algeria. |

Joebie: lol...as if Iwobi was in the AM position when he laid that brilliant pass for Chukwueze against SA. That's the kind of pass we demand from our wingers all the time. Exactly. Notice how he drifted outwide and Samu moved to the middle?? That's how you utilize Iwobi properly. If you want to play him outwide - have someone who mobile and drifts around as a 10. It's the same thing he does at Arsenal with Ozil(when he isn't shit). He can do that with Etebo when playing outwide or Samu when playing as a 10 |

Earthquake2: Iwobi was disastrous on the wings and Musa's best position is on the left He wasn't disastrous and even at that he would be able to swap position with Etebo further forward. Musa can play on the right if he's there solely for making runs into the box instead of this pseudo playmaking nonsense he's been trying to do lately. |

Mikel has paid his dues and has given us 2013 AFCON.
Mikel has regressed badly. Whether as an AM or CM or DLP, I doubt there's much he can do. Let us look to grooming younger talents. Mikel has little or nothing to offer at this stage of his career.
Please, let us look to the future I am not "touting" him but fact is he's the only decent controller we have and would have done a job there. |

Earthquake2: Which of them controlled the midfield against Algeria? Etebo is a box to box midfielder but controlling the midfield is not his forte, likewise Ndidi, Iwobi is not matured enough for that role
So you basically have 3 midfielders who are not ball holders in the midfield tell me why your team won't suffer Mikel of course. I said regardless of how he played against Madagascar that they'd come a time we'd need him. That time was yesterday but Rohr was his usual conservative self. I would started Mikel as a controller with Ndidi and Etebo playing in front of him, Iwobi out wide for Samu and Musa on the left. |

The funny thing is he wouldn't have needed to change too much for it. He already had Awaziem - Omeruo - Ekong as our 3 CBs, all he needed to do was decide who to bring on as wing backs and who would pair Ighalo/Musa upfront. |

Earthquake2: Ndidi and Etebo are too similar to play together
One has to be sacrificed for a creative midfielder Etebo is obviously the more attacking player. Rohr is the one who chooses to play him in a defensive position. Both can play together if they have a regista behind them. The Mikel - Ndidi - Etebo trio are good in the paper but the problem is Rohr just didn't know how to utilize them. |
