Martins played as a target man yet scored goals for Levante. He had his preference(right or wrong). |

forgiveness: Odemwigie was in super form. I saw him played then.
Keshi never wanted to invite some players. It was not about not being fit into how he wanted to play. Obafemi Martins was the best Nigerian striker in Europe prior to the AFCON.
Why take Uzeonyi who was poor through out the qualifiers when we had Odemwigie and Martins?
Odemwigie had problems with him because of his bias selection. It is not acceptable. Keshi dropped Osaze because he requested shuttle between AFCON and playing for West Brom(and also something involving seeing his kid). Like I said - in as much as Osaze should have been at that AFCON, we still had enough options upfront and out wide. As for Martins - well we saw that Keshi liked playing with target men upfront e.g Emenike, Ideye, Shola Ameobi, Bright Dike. |

forgiveness: Odemwigie was in top form. He scored the 5 goals with 3 assists before the AFCON. Remember, he did that as a winger. The beef was after the AFCON.
Martins received pay cut in other to join Levante prior to the AFCON. And right after he joined he scored 6 goals with assists in the La Liga prior to the AFCON. In addition, he scored another two goals in Europa League to advance Levante to the round of 16th. It was also prior to the AFCON. He had 4 goals and 3 assists in 15 games by 26 Dec 2012. Not bad for a RW, but not on super form. Martins was indeed in good form prior to AFCON(6 goals in 13) but like I said he didn't fit into how he wanted to play. Osaze also had personal issues with Keshi so it's sort of understandable he got dropped. We still had Emenike, Uche, Ideye, Vic Moses and Musa to fill in at CF and WF roles. |

charlesemeka85: sure it was positives because such feat have not been achieved in our footballing history until keshi came. it was this same mentality that made him a demi god who became untouchable which backfired so bad on our football until rohr took charge.
when keshi left the super eagles post why didn't he get hired immediately before his untimely death? Seriously?? Why didn't Rohr get hired by a better team before we appointed him(going by your logic)? He achieved something we couldn't do with much better coaches and better players in 19 years despite getting totally written off (NFF had started making arrangements when we were drawn with Ivory Coast). Yes he made mistakes but no way is he the worst thing to have happened to our football. That's way over the top. |

charlesemeka85: i think you are the one being emotional and sentimental which have beclouded your sense of reasoning.
i am not a sentimental person but one who is very blunt and say things the way i see them.
i was one of keshi's biggest fan and clamored for him becoming our next coach after 2010 world cup but as time went by i found out he was a joke and very corrupt as well.
the teams experience with keshi and oliseh made be never to support the hiring of our local coaches anymore.
keshi did more bad to our football than good Winning AFCON and getting to the second round of WC are net positives for me. That alone is why I respect him now. RIP Big Boss. |

Odunayaw: The goal against Bosnia could have been ruled out due to Emenike's shoving the defender that he for the ball from.
If memory serves me right, that call was right That wasn't a foul. |

Odunayaw: And the Bosnian game could have been a drawn then. The goal against France was a right call We would've had still had 4 points. Emenike's goal was wrongly disallowed. He wasn't offside. |

Odunayaw:
Minor difference is that We had to win(the only game) in 2014 based on bad ref call? We had a goal wrongly disallowed against Iran which would have most likely won us the game and another one against France. |

Jarus: Martins was a beast in this game. I think that was his debut match for Nigeria.
That was the first time SA defeated Nigeria in like 14 years (or even first time ever), if I remember well.
Martins' Serie A friend, Ayodele Makinwa also played that game. Yeah Makinwa scored via a deflection. There were too happy over that win especially as it came after the spanking we gave am at AFCON earlier. |

Bolowolowo: 2 wins? Where did the other win come from? Did he coach another team before Bafana Bafana? Nelson Mandela challenge back in 04. We lost 2-1. I watched that game live at Ellis Park. We had a weak team but Martins was the main attraction. I still remember that last ditch tackle Aaron Mokoena made in the early minutes preventing Martins from acoring. |

charlesemeka85: oga you lied, keshi gave iheanacho conditions to sign with his management team before will grant him a chance in the chan team.
martins was doing very well in laliga and continued with the same form when he moved to the mls but was only invited once in a game the team performed poorly.
odemwingie was in top form in 2013 but was snubbed by keshi citing indiscipline, same goes to taiye taiwo who was a mainstay in dynamo kiev that had haruna lukman and brown ideye.
what about the case of inform youngster imoh ezekiel?
do you know keshi almost dropped yobo and odemwingie from the 2014 worldcup list if not for the intervention of the then nff chairman?
why did an inform sone aluko who was hot in the colors of glasgow rangers in scotland prior to the 2013 afcon but wasn't given a chance?
at the time haruna lukman was a regular and aside mikel, onazi and i will say to an extend igiebor was the most inform nigerian midfielder in europe but was never given a chance by keshi.
what about john chibuike who was doing very well for norwagian giants rosenborg as of the time? - Source please. The reason I heard Nacho didn't play CHAN was because he left to complete his move to City. - Odemwingie wasn't in "top form". He was just ok and I think that was around the time he started beefing with Steve Clarke after his failed move to QPR. He scored only 5 goals that season(12/13.) Martins should've played but we had Emenike in form and like I said - he didn't play well when he got the chance and wasn't actually in form at Kazan before AFCON - Yobo got injured and Oboabona and Omeruo usurped his position and rightly so as at that time. When he dropped Yobo for Confed cup - he said Yobo would make the WC and eventually break the appearance record. - Aluko deserved to go to WC. Igiebor was given an opportunity but he didn't play well at AFCON and Keshi eventually found a winning midfield formula in Mikel - Onazi - Mba |

timay: All these guys that are just making light of the efforts of the super Eagles, saying that SA is this, SA is that, as if SA is a Brazil that we don't know about.
If Egypt had taken their chances, I'm sure you won't be saying all this about SA.
If SA is that fantastic, why were they struggling in the group stage and they had to wait till the last day to qualify. for the next stage.
Like what is wrong with you people gan gan. what do you guys want?
Before the Cameroon game , people were saying, it is our first real test, we beat them, now you are saying SA is our first real test. The same SA that could have been down by 2 or 3 goals against Egypt, no thanks to the wasteful Trezeguet.
It seems a lot of people want to see the team fail, just because of Onyekuru and Osimhen issue with the coach Maybe because we haven't beaten them in the last 5 outings?? Say what you want - they definitely deserved to win against Egypt. They had a game plan and executed it well. They have somehow learnt how to play against big West African teams so they shouldn't be taken lightly. If we had a proper midfield - I'd be a hundred percent confident of winning tomorrow but that midfield is a cause for concern. Etebo - Ndidi will have to be on their A game tomorrow. |

charlesemeka85: alot of pple dont know the politics behind the scene in our football. till date i will take the only positives from buhari emerging as the president of this country was keshi's sack.
Keshi was a mafia and had strong backup politically right from the presidency to the army. keshi almost turned the super eagles to his private venture and all this started after the afcon triumph. pinnick was the guy who only had the guts to sack keshi when he came in as the nff supremo and made the attempt immediately but was seriously warned by the presidency and other top political stalwarts. keshi knew his game was over when jonathan lost and buhari came, if you guys were observant it didn't take up to a month after buhari's swearing in that pinnick sacked keshi Abegi!! Pinnick is no damn saint too. Keshi would've left after the WC if not for Gov intervention. He would've also resigned after 2013 AFCON as well. |

peterd53: That Keshi do us strong thing oo In keshi voice. iheanacho is too young............martins is too old.......Uche is indiscipline.
He deny us the opportunity to see Osaze wen he was blazing hot in d epl. He took Mohamed gamboling to d confederation cup as our top striker and made us to believe that agbim is the best keeper in d country Keshi invited Iheanacho for CHAN but he skipped it. He also gave Martins and Yak a chance but they didn't do well. Uche was tactically in disciplined and I stopped blaming Keshi for not inviting him when it was revealed some of the coaching staff complained about it. He still invited Osaze to the WC despite their little spat. Gambo was playing well for Kano Pillars. If you support home based players getting an opportunity you can't complain about him inviting an in form home based player. Keshi had his flaws no doubt but he should be appreciated a bit more seeing that he won AFCON and got us to the second round of the WC. |
