I think Amuneke should be given a try if available.
Too soon.

Attacking players without the glue in the midfield is crass
Again - that is all on Rohr.

Its point blank simple. There's no way we'd beat Algeria with the system built around the kind of players we brought to the tournament. You might come off with the "..bbut we have attacking talents" . I say how would they attack if the middle can not join/connect with them
That is a 100 percent on Rohr. From the game against SA where he invited 3 midfielders - some of us here were screaming and begging him to try out midfielders but he didn't listen.
2022 is less than 3 years away. We should be trying out the likes of Eze, Igbekeme, Zubairu, etc.

Hmmmm why the cries calling for ROHR head?

Rohr should be sacked,
Rohr should resign,
Rohr is too conservetive

chaiii
for the last two Afcon where was naija?
As if that isnt enuf,
we are back and even make the last four, still the coach is too slow and conservative

continuity had been the bane of our SE, since time,
no coach had last 6-8 years with the eagles

well we are on the right track, no need to sack Rohr , he should continue, and yes conservately too

better to built with conservation, patiently laying a solid foundation, observing the strenght and weakness,
than to build wit flair and brashness
We have too many attacking players coming through for Rohr to be this conservative.
I'm one for continuity and would keep him till 2022 but let's not act like he's the second coming of Westerhof.
Besides off the field issues were responsible for us nor qualifying for those last 2 Afcons.

These guys clearly studied us down to the T. Need to watch the full game again

Honestly guys - in as much as we don't have great players and all - I don't think Rohr is getting the best out of this team attacking wise.
I feel there is latent attacking potential that could be unlocked with the players we have. Rohr is too Conservative for me.
I'll give him till 2022 but the way his fanboys are defending him is getting frustrating. My guy is not the new Westerhof and never will be.
Let's see what will change in the next two years.

Any reason why Uzoho didn’t feature? Lack of club game time?
Let's be honest - Uzoho is thrash as well. I thought dude was a good ball playing keeper but nah...all three of them are average.

I'm gonna take the defeat in good faith...Algeria were obviously the better team from the blast of the whistle.. they had studied us very well and devised a plan to stop us and it worked..Kudos to them..
Our players gave tried but such things happen in football.. you can't win every time .

But I think after the AFCON, the following players need to join Mikel in retirement...
- Ighalo

- Ogu

- Akpeyi..

- Ezenwa

Musa and Balogun should take a back seat in the team too.. As for Ekong he needs serious competition.. Even Omeruo..

If we are serious about building a better team for the future, then we need to let go of some old players .the Dutch did it and now their football is back on track... we can do it too..
The believe some people on this thread have that we don't have good players is a lie!! We have a lot of good players out there...talented players who are doing well at their clubs..both home and foreign born... they just need to be integrated into the team slowly.. We have limited time to start preparing for 2021 AFCONQ and Qatar 2022

As for Rohr, I can't totally support the calls to sack him now cus I tells can't think of any capable replacement available... the man has tried for put football no doubt but his conservative style is holding this team back...Poor tactical decisions and his inability to make daring changes into the team...
If a capable replacement is available he should please go.. Nobody knew his when he was coaching Niger republic back then... the national team has boosted his CV
Ighalo stays till further notice. We need Osimhen to move to a good clubside so he can continue improving.

Ndidi should be called out for giving away such a cheap foul. What the heck was he thinking? Didn't he see Omeruo in front of him (then again who is to say Omeruo wouldn't have committed a foul in the box?)

Very painful.

As soon as I saw the list, I realized with Rohr, our mildfield and goalkeeper department can't improve.

Eze dey but you refused to use him.
Exactly. We should have been trying out different midfielder at every single opportunity.
Ogu was just a waste of space

If Mikel didn't choose AFCON to underperform, we would've been playing a proper 4-3-3 with a midfield 3 of Mikel as Regista with Etebo and Ndidi further forward.
Etebo would wreck so much havoc if he played as a b2b mid.
We need to find a deep lying CM after AFCON.

His statement has a xenophobic undertone.
The South Africans overestimated themselves on the ground that they defeated one of the the tipped favourites to win the title in Egypt and they paid for it.
Kudos to Chukwueze.he is a superstar in the making.it is hightime our coach gave onyekuru a chance like he did to chukwueze. The dude is good as well.
Congrats to Nigeria. Our victory will give the Egyptians somewhat of a succour after their unfortunate loss to bafana bafana.
Nah AKA is a cool guy. He's just disappointed they lost.

Something tells me that Rohr would resign after this AFCON even if we win the trophy. He would rather bow out when the ovation is loudest.
He'll most likely want to complete his "project"(WC 2022).

The South Africans attacked through the right wing because they noticed Ahmed was not helping Collins and succeeded in getting a goal as a result of that.

What Rohr needed to do was to bring in a player to support Collins defensively and also attack though he ought to have done that before the equaliser hence the need to introduce Simon.

I don't think Onyekuru was the best option to nullify the South African's tactics of getting the ball through Collin's wing.

You can see after Simon Moses came on he did the job very well and there was balance.

It was all about tactics.
One way or the other - we needed the balance of having one wide forward and a winger if we wanted to eventually win.
The Balogun sub should've been for covering whatever wing that was leaking.
If we had gone to extra time - I honestly don't think we would've scored(maybe from open play)

Simon is a good player ,people who knows nothing about football can always rant ,I said it earlier that Simon will be the one to come in

Chukwueze was my man of the match today
It wasn't a good switch. We needed someone to make runs in behind something Moses Simon doesn't do.

Good half. If we play our cards right - things could turn ugly for them.
Get a quick goal and smoke them on the break. We have the necessary players to pull it off.

I just genuinely hate how Rohr sets up the Eagles like an underdog against any half decent team. Ceding possession and hitting on the counter is not a Nigerian thing
Are you surprised?? He's worried about us getting hit on the counter
