“Pure Homosexuality”- Twitter User on Picture of One Girl Pecking Another, Nigerians React


The world we live in today always gets something to be outraged about on a daily basis and so it was when a Twitter user with the handle, @i_sensed. reacted rather angrily to a picture of a girl pecking another in a picture.

According to him, he said it was a common practise among Arewa girls and that it was nothing short of homosexuality. He also noted that if it had been guys in the picture, people would have been appalled.



He tweeted; I found this picture online with something common among our Arewa Girls.. FYI this is pure Homosexuality, imagine if it is a guy and a guy on the picture, the attention it will draw



Of course he was promptly attacked by Nigerians.

Ghanaian reggae-dancehall musician Shatta Wale has given a clear indication that his recent deal with Zylofon Media will propel him to greater heights beyond what has been achieved by multiple Grammy Award winner Jay-Z.



The 2014 Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year holds a strong believe that he has a solid backing from Zylofon to outdo the American rapper and businessman.


Shortly after his unveiling on Wednesday, January 31, the ‘Freedom’ hit maker said Ghanaians will see his hard work and will testify to the rest of the world.


“I think in the next year or two my fans should really watch out, Shatta Wale is going to be bigger than Jay-Z and all the [big] artistes in America,” he said.


Shatta Wale has committed to a three-year deal with Zylofon Media, owned by Nana Appiah Mensah.

He joins Stonebwoy, Obibini, Kumi Guitar, Becca and Joyce Blessing who are already part of the Zylofon Musicn family.

Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki hosted the Edo State Commander of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mr. Wakawa Buba, at the Govt House in Benin City, and expressed displeasure over Edo State being listed among the highest Cannabis producing states in Nigeria.



The state government promised to collaborate with the NDLEA in setting up a Drug Control Committee to combat drug cartels and assist youths overcome drug abuse and other related vices in society.

Man Lands In Police Detention For Unlocking A Phone Without Demanding For Its Receipt

Cases of reported stolen items are arguably one of the most carelessly handled issues in Nigeria. From unlawful arrests and detainment to unwarranted seizures of properties, the due process never seems to be properly applied.



A young man identified as Ayodeji has taken to the social media platform to express his grievances over what he believed was an unlawful arrest. Ayodeji, who works as a phone technician revealed how he was arrested over one of his recent jobs. According to him, he had initially unlocked a phone for a customer without demanding for its receipt of purchase and that eventually led to his arrest.

He wrote on Twitter:

"I was arrest today at My workshop because I help a customer to unlock his phone...@segalink ...d customer brought the phone to my shop last year ending to unlock, I charge him 10k to fix the phone and he payed... @segalink today police came back with guy with handcuff that the phone was stolen and I was detain in the cell for 8hours before Dey grant my bail"

"my offense was why did I unlock the phone without the customer providing d receipt of the phone..my question is this, must I ask every customer to bring there receipt before I can fix their phone...please sir I need your help on this matter...you are the only I can run to. They collected 10k from me before Dey could release me today @PoliceNG"

Remains of the former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme, have arrived at his residence in Enugu state, shortly after it arrived at the Akanu Ibiam Airport on Monday.

The body earlier arrived in Abuja from London, the United Kingdom, after which it was flown to Enugu State where the final interment rites will take place on February 2, 2018.

There is nothing people will not use to sow seeds in church. Some go as far as making use of their properties such as houses, cars and much more to receive divine favour from God.



Such was the case of this beautiful young lady who decided to sow her husband’s car as seed in church. According to reports this woman caused he confusion in Delta state when she gave the pastor keys to her husband’s car.

It was further reported that after sowing the car as seed in church, some aggrieved people who are close to the woman’s husband stormed the church saying the pastor should return the car else they would attack the premises and burn down any car they see there. Due to this outburst by some families of the woman’s husband, the pastor immediately called for peace and returned the car including papers and everything associated with it back to the woman in the presence of other church members.

The Ekiti State Government has elevated 18 Vice Principals to the post of Principals.



Also promoted are 7 Heads of Departments (HODs) to the post of Vice Principals.



The Chairman of the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Chief Abiodun Falayi on Sunday told NAN in Ado Ekiti that the exercise was based on merit.



According to him, it is to fill the consequential vacancies left as a result of the retirement of some teachers of secondary schools in the state due to age limit or length of service.



Congratulating the affected officers, the TESCOM boss charged them to remain dedicated to their duties and alert to their responsibilities.



The Chairman said the government would continue to reward hard work and dedication to duty, while also not losing sight on punishing indolence and laziness.



He noted that most of the elevated teachers would be transferred from their present schools to new ones.



He directed the beneficiaries to ensure a smooth hand over that would not negatively affect academic activities in their respective schools.



Falayi also solicited the continued support of all stakeholders in government’s effort to develop the education sector, stressing the importance of cooperation between host communities and teachers of schools in the State.

There has been an accident at Egbeda Ikotun road, Lagos where an over speeding driver reportedly lost control of the wheels and running into the barricade of the road.


The driver escaped with a cut to the head and was taken away for treatment.

Kogi state has recorded a fresh outbreak of Lassa fever as a medical doctor working with the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Lokoja has been confirmed to be a victim of the disease. Lassa-fever Olatunde Alabi, the medical director of FMC, who briefed newsmen on Saturday, January 20, in Lokoja, said that the male doctor was diagnosed of the disease on January 19. He said that the victim’s blood sample was sent to the Federal Medical Centre, Irrua, Edo State for laboratory analysis, adding that it tested positive. Alabi said that the 30-year-old doctor was in the early hours of Saturday taken to Irrua for further treatment.

According to the medical director, the World Health Organisation (WHO), the state Ministry of Health and other stakeholders have been informed of the development and are already assisting the Centre in various ways. He said that all the people that came in contact with the sick doctor, both at home and work had been placed under surveillance.


Alabi said that the centre in partnership with relevant stakeholders had commenced contact tracing to enable it trace the source of the disease and ascertain if there was any other victim within the community where the doctor resides.

He said that the Centre would also embark on health education for its members of staff to prevent human to human transmission of the disease. The medical expert urged members of the public to endeavour to report cases of fever early to the nearest health facility for early treatment. He also appealed to residents to take urgent steps to eliminate rats in their houses and surroundings, saying that foodstuff like garri, rice, beans, maize should be kept in air tight containers to prevent contamination by rats. It would be recalled that the centre in 2017 handled three cases of Lassa fever, two of the victims died while one survived.

A suspected thief has been found hanging on an electrical pole in Bukuru , Jos South LGA of Plateau.

In undated pictures circulating on the internet, the suspected thief appeared to have been electrocuted while trying to vandalise electrical installations on the pole.

According to unconfirmed reports, residents of the area had been complaining of poor electricity supply due to activities of vandals.

The latest incident was said to have caused a total blackout in the area.

Reports also had it that the suspected thief was left hanging on the pole for hours until emergency workers were contacted to bring him down.

A woman has delivered a bouncing baby after seven years of marriage and three failed In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). The woman finally got pregnant naturally and she delivered her baby without any problem.

www.newshelmng.com came across the miracle story after it was shared by a Twitter user simply identified as Omotoso who revealed that the mother of the newborn baby is his sister.


The man narrated that his sister tried everything possible to get pregnant even after she was told she could not give birth due to her condition. He said she remained positive and thankful to God through it all.

The Nigeria Football Federation on Wednesday signed a two –year contract extension with Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr.



NFF 1st Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, explained that Rohr, initially taken on board in July 2016, deserved the extension after qualifying the Super Eagles for the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals, even with a match to spare.



“He has done a very good job and when someone does a good job, he gets a reward. We are proud to have taken Mr. Rohr on board and we are delighted to be signing this contract extension with him.”


Rohr, who played as a defender and has coached Burkina Faso, Niger Republic and Gabon national teams before landing in Nigeria, expressed joy at the extension of the relationship, while insisting that the Super Eagles players and officials must remain level –headed and focused going forward.

A young Nigerian lady identified as Gloria Omommaty Kennedy who has been failing at shooting her shot has blasted the rich bachelors in her church for ignoring her after she dressed up to impress. The young lady shared her frustration on her Facebook page stating that all her makeup and chic outfit usually goes to waste in church because all the men she is interested in never wait behind after church services. She noted that none of the men would stay back for a chit chat after church service, adding that they would enter their cars and zoom off.
