The Economic and Financial Crime Commission yesterday raided one of the houses owned by former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin in Anyigba, Kogi State. The raid was carried out following a tipoff that there might be some stolen money hidden in the ex-military chief's house.

During the raid, EFCC operatives who drove in a pick up hilux van, ransacked the house, turning open sewage tank and breaking into the ceiling. However the search was fruitless as they couldn't find anything incriminating.

Business38,000 Companies De-registered For Failing To File Returns by EdificationBoss(op): 8:46am On Feb 22, 2017
The Corporate Affairs Commission on Tuesday said it had de-registered the names of over 38,000 companies from its register for failing to file annual returns to the commission.

The Registrar-General, CAC, Mr Bello Mahmud, stated this while speaking during a chat with journalists in Abuja.

He said that the delisting of the companies have been gazetted by the commission, adding that only the court can give an order for the companies to be readmitted into the register of the commission.

By delisting of these companies by the CAC, it implies that such companies are no longer registered entities in Nigeria and as such not recognised by law.

Bello said that some of the companies that were delisted may have not been liquidated, adding that based on the provisions of the law, the companies have up to 20 years to reapply for re-registration.

He said, “The laws says that if the commission has reasonable cause that the company is not carrying on business while in operation, then it has to enquire from that company and if no response is received within three months, the commission can proceed to strike off the name of the registered company.

“We have just gazetted a little above 38,000 companies and those companies have been struck off from the register.

“But by striking off, it doesnt mean the companies have been dissolved. The companies have been more or less suspended and they cannot go back to business unless they obtain an order of court to re-list. The law gives them a window of 20 years within which they can apply for re-list.”

Foreign AffairsMugabe Rules Out Retirement At 93 - I Have No Acceptable Successor by EdificationBoss(op): 1:52pm On Feb 19, 2017
Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has ruled out retirement as he looks forward to his 93rd birthday next Tuesday.

There had been calls for him to retire due to old age.

According to him, he has no "acceptable" successor in place, hence he won't give up power.

"The call to step down must come from my party, my party at congress, my party at central committee," Mugabe said in excerpts from a radio broadcast that will air this week.

"But then what do you see? It's the opposite. They want me to stand for elections."

"The majority of the people feel that there is no replacement, a successor who to them is acceptable, as acceptable as I am," he added.

Mugabe, who has kept an iron grip on power since Zimbabwe declared independence in 1980, has repeatedly denied reports of health problems.

The Day I Will Never Forget: The Day A Male Fan Slapped My Butt In Shoprite- Anita Joseph

Someone has seen me in Shoprite before, hit my bum and ran away. There was nothing I could do.

There was a movie I did Open and Close. I was a nymphomaniac in that movie, I had sex with everybody around me because it was the story.

The guy said that thing you did in Open and Close, can you just do it to me? He started whining in Shoprite, mimicking everything I did in the movie, the way I was doing. I just turned to leave and the next thing he did was to tap my ass.

I wanted to pursue him but I wore heels so I couldn’t pursue him. If it were before, I would have chased him all the way.

CrimePHOTO: EFCC Arrest Fraudulent ‘investor’ For Alleged $154,146 Fraud by EdificationBoss(op): 9:36pm On Feb 15, 2017
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on February 9, 2017 arrested one Benjamin Aduli for offences bordering on criminal breach of trust and obtaining by false pretence.

Operatives of the EFCC got wind of his nefarious activities through a petition by one of his victims. According to the petitioner, Aduli claimed that he could “help source for a loan facility of $30 million in Dubai” that would be used to finance Fleet farms, a company belonging to the petitioner.

Having convinced the potential investor of the “good deal”, he demanded for a contributory fee of $154,146 which he claimed would be remitted to ABA investment LLC in Dubai as “a condition for accessing the loan”.

Not sensing any foul play, the petitioner paid the said sum to a Micro Finance Bank on the instruction of Aduli, for onward remittance as promised.

However, since payment was made, no loan was provided for the petitioner, while the money was never returned.

The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigations are elapsed.

Politics15,000 Youths Mobilized To Welcome Buhari From London Vacation by EdificationBoss(op): 12:48pm On Feb 04, 2017
About 15,000 youths are expected to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari from his vacation in the UK.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), says it has mobilised the youths to meet Buhari at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja.

President Buhari is expected to return to Nigeria on February 6, following the 10-day vacation.

Malam Gambo Jagindi, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President of NYCN, Murtala Gamji, said:

“The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has concluded arrangements to mobilise not less than 15,000 of its members to be at Abuja airport on Feb. 6, to welcome President Buhari from vacation.

“It is on record that integrity, discipline and honesty are gradually returning to our public life unlike in the past when impunity was the order of the day. We all know that they do not have the interest of our country at heart and are only wishing to carry on with the looting of our treasury in the absence of our president."

He noted that in spite of the “corrupt mafias’’ working to undermine the anti-corruption war, Nigerian youths under NYCN would continue to support Buhari’s laudable programmes.
